  • Smoothing touch-based animation in iPhone OpenGL?

    I know this is vague, but looking for general tips/help on this, as it's not an area of significant expertise for me. I have some iPhone code that's basically an EAGL view handling a single touch. The app draws (using GL) a circle via triangle fan at the touch point, and moves it when the user moves the touch point, and re-renders the view then. When dragging a finger slowly, the circle keeps up and consistent with the finger as it moves. If I scribble my finger quickly back and forth across the screen, the rendering doesn't keep up with the touch motion, so you see an optical illusion of "multiple" discrete circles on the screen "at once". (Normal persistence of vision illusion). This optical illusion is jarring. How can I make this look more natural? Can I blur the motion of the circle somehow? Is this result the evidence of some bad frame rate issue? I see this artifact even when nothing else is being rendered, so I think this might just be as fast as we can go. Any hints or suggestions?   • iPhone SDK - (void)viewDidLoad { } - Show Progress

    I have a long - (void)viewDidLoad { } function that uses the internet to load a page, and whenever the application loads the URL, the screen is black. I have a UIActivityIndicator setup to show that the address is loading, but I don't know how to prevent it from seeming as if the application is not responding, and I don't want to show the network activity indicator [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setNetworkActivityIndicatorVisible:YES]; because the screen will still be black, just with a loader in the top corner.   • Two Linked CSS Files Not working

It doesn't work at all. If we add a @import into main.css OR into the header instead of a it works fine though. Any ideas? We also got rid of the media="screens" on both as well. The CSS inside of it is working fine, it's just when we stack those two, the first one parsed is the only one read by the browser. So if we swap main below custom, custom than works but NONE of main works. and custom just has snippet of CSS, and doesn't override all the CSS in main, just 1 element. I can't figure it out! We have other ed stylesheets in the head (which we took out for trying to fix this) and they worked fine...

  • Putting a MovieMaterial behind a DAE model in Papervision3D

    Hi, I'm doing a project using FLARManager augmented reality and the Papervision3D library. Unfortunately, Papervision is giving me a lot of problems. My scene3D contains a DAE model and a plane. The plane has a MovieMaterial and is playing a video through FLVPlayback. The DAE and the plane are both inside the same DisplayObject3D container. FLARManager transforms the container so that everything appears through the angle of the marker. My DAE model is a TV, the screen of the TV is transparent. I want to have my Plane inside of my DAE model, so that the Movie playing on the plane material appears to be what is playing on the TV. The problem is that, even if the plane has a lower Z index then the TV, it always appears in front of the TV. How do I have my plane and its MovieMaterial appear behind the TV, so that some of its corners are cut out by the TV and the part of the TV thats transparent let me see the Movie? If its impossible, anyone has an idea of how I could get the desired effect of having a movie play on the screen of my DAE tv model? Thank You.

  • Problems compiling peazip on OSX

    I'm having some problems with compiling Peazip on OSX (10.6). I emailed the Peazip developer and he said he probably couldn't help me too much as the error seems to be OSX specific and he doesn't have access to an OSX machine any more. The compiler I'm using is Lazarus as the source is in Pascal. The actual compile process seems to go ok, but when I run the peazip.app program launcher, I get the following error: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/thegooddale/Screen-shot-2010-05-22-at-71907-PM.png Here is the app launcher that the compile made: http://forboden.com/coding/peazip.app.zip - you can use an unzip program to look at the files inside (i.e. unzip it twice).   • GMap.NET shows no map

    I'm trying to use the GMap.NET.WindowsForms control in my Windows forms application but I cannot make it show me any map. Here is what I did: I added the control to my Visual Studio's 2010 toolbox by clicking 'Choose Items...' from the toolbox's context menu and browsing for the GMap.NET.WindowsForms.dll included in the downloaded zip archive. I also added references to GMap.NET.Core.dll and System.Data.SQLite.dll in my solution. Then I put the GMapControl that appeared in the toolbox on the main form of my application and set the map type to GoogleMap. When I run my application, however, the control shows either a blue screen with a piece of text saying "We are sorry, but we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region" or a bright screen with completely no data (when I change zoom level). Here is my code: GMapMain.MapType = MapType.GoogleMap; GMapMain.MaxZoom = 100; GMapMain.MinZoom = 0; GMapMain.Zoom = 50; GMapMain.CurrentPosition = new PointLatLng(54.6961334816182, 25.2985095977783); GMapMain.ReloadMap(); Please help.   • LyX - breaking long formula lines

    How can I break long formulas in LyX into two (or more) lines? I know how to write several lines of equations in one "math box" but I'm looking for a solution to break lines even in the middle of a parenthesis. I'm using LyX 1.6.4 and currently, when the formula is too big, it doesn't do anything (it just doesn't print the last segment of it, which is "beyond" the page). Is this possible in LyX?

  • SerialPort ReadLine() after Thread.Sleep() goes crazy

    Hi everybody, I've been fighting with this issue for a day and I can't find answer for it. I am trying to read data from GPS device trough COM port in Compact Framework C#. I am using SerialPort class (actually my own ComPort class boxing SerialPort, but it adds only two fields I need, nothing special). Anyway.. I am running while loop in a separate thread which reads line from the port, analyze NMEA data, print them, catch all exceptions and then I Sleep(200) the thread, cause I need CPU for other threads... Without Sleep it works fine, but uses 100% CPU..   • CQRS - The query side

    A lot of the blogsphere articles related to CQRS (command query repsonsibility) seperation seem to imply that all screens/viewmodels are flat. e.g. Name, Age, Location Of Birth etc.. and thus the suggestion that implementation wise we stick them into fast read source etc.. single table per view mySQL etc.. and pull them out with something like primitive SqlDataReader, kick that nasty nhibernate ORM etc.. However, whilst I agree that domain models dont mapped well to most screens, many of the screens that I work with are more dimensional, and Im sure this is pretty common in LOB apps. So my question is how are people handling screen where by for example it displays a summary of customer details and then a list of their orders with a [more detail] link etc.... I thought about keeping with the straight forward SQL query to the Query Database breaking off the outer join so can build a suitable ViewModel to View but it seems like overkill? Alternatively (this is starting to feel yuck) in CustomerSummaryView table have a text/big (whatever the type is in your DB) column called Orders, and the columns for the Order summary screen grid are seperated by , and rows by |. Even with XML datatype it still feeel dirty. Any thoughts on an optimal practice?

  • c# ListView unable to check a checkbox! Strange problem.

    This is a strange problem, I've not added much code as I don't know were to start. I have a listview control in virtual mode, if I filter the listview to show me all people called John, I then see 3 users called John, I then cancel the filter setting all values to null and return all data to the listview, I now have several hundred items in the list but I can only see 30 on screen unless I scroll down the listview. I then use the code below to check a checkbox in each row, all get checked apart from the 3 Johns but if I can see 1 of the 3 Johns in listview without scrolling and then run the code below the visible John is checked. for (int i = 0; i < this._items.Count; i++) { this._items[i].Checked = true; } I have checked the status of the checkbox just before it is checked in the above code and if John is visible then the checkbox believes it is unchecked (false), if it is not visible it belives it is checked (true). So having one visible John on screen the checkbox looks unchecked and running a test proves it is unchecked, for the two Johns I can't see they believe they are checked but if I scroll down so I can see them they aren't. Any ideas? Thanks

  • UIImagePickerController image editing not working

    I am having a problem with implementing UIImagePickerController. When the controller loads, it displays modally, and allows the user to select the image. Good so far. Yet, then when it moves to the editing phase, it often displays somewhat corrupted view (the image cropping box is halfway off the top of the screen) and their is no image. It does not crash, but all UI interaction is blocked. The strange part is that this only happens when I compile with Release settings. Under debug compile settings, the image editing works fine! I have tried checking for memory warnings during this time, but none are showing up. Here is the code calling the image picker controller for reference. When I use the camera (the first method), it always works fine. It is just when selecting images from the Library (called from the second method below) does it fail as described above.     I'm storing Points Of Interest (POI) in PostgreSQL database, and retrieve them via PHP script to Android application. To reduce internet usage I want my mobile app to know if there are any points in the neighborhood of currently displayed area. My idea is to store bounds of the rectangle containing all points already retrieved (in other words: nearest point on the left (West) of most west already retrieved, nearest point above (North) of most north already retrieved etc.) and I will make next query when any edge of screen goes outside of this bounds. Currently I can retrieve points which are in "single screen" (in the area covered by currently displayed map) using: SELECT * FROM ch WHERE loc <@ (box '((".-$latSpan.", ".$lonSpan."),(".$latSpan.", ".-$lonSpan."))' + point '".$loc."') Now I need to know four most remote points in each direction, than I will be able to retrieve next four "more remote" points. Is there any possibility to get those points (or box) directly from PostgreSQL (maybe using some "aggregate points to box" function)?

    So I have a one list box with values like DeptA, DeptB, DeptC & DeptD. I have a method that causes these to automatically populate in this list box if they are applicable. So in other words, if they populate in this list box, I want the resulting logic to say they are "Yes" in a boolean field in the table. So to accomplish this I am trying to use this example of iteration to cycle through the list box first of all, and it works great: dim i as integer dim myval as string For i = o to me.lstResults.listcount - 1 myVal = lstResults.itemdata(i) Next i if i debug.print myval, i get the list of data items that i want from the list box. so now i am trying to evaluate that list so that I can have an UPDATE SQL statement to update the table as i need it to be done. so, i know this is a mistake, but this is what i tried to do (giving it as an example so that you can see what i am trying to get to here) dim sql as string dim i as integer dim myval as string dim db as database sql = "UPDATE tblMain SET " for i = 0 to me.lstResults.listcount - 1 myval = lstResults.itemdata(i) If MyVal = "DeptA" Then sql = sql & "DeptA = Yes" ElseIF myval = "DeptB" Then sql = sql & "DeptB = Yes" ElseIf MyVal = "DeptC" Then sql = sql & "DeptC = Yes" ElseIf MyVal = "DeptD" Then sql = sql & "DeptD = Yes" End If Next i debug.print (sql) sql = sql & ";" set db= currentdb db.execute(sql) msgbox "Good Luck!" So you can see why this is going to cause problems because the listbox that these values (DeptA, DeptB, etc) automatically populate in are dynamic....there is rarely one value in the listbox, and the list of values changes per OrderID (what the form I am using this on populates information for in the first place; unique instance). I am looking for something that will evaluate this list one at a time (i.e. iterate through the list of values, and look for "DeptA", and if it is found add yes to the SQL string, and if it not add no to the SQL string, then march on to the next iteration). Even though the listbox populates values dynamically, they are set values, meaning i know what could end up in it. Thanks for any help, Justin

    Hello, I have been told that I should add a sidebar to one page of this .net project, but the master page don't include a sidebar. How can I add a sidebar to one page only ?
