    Maybe it's because it's late. Whatever the reason I can't figure out why I'm having trouble with a simple CSScrollLayer example I'm trying. Everything is lovely except I can't scroll the icons. I've tried with/without setting scroll mode. I've tried with a single stretched icon that falls off screen. I've tried everything.   • iPhone multitouch - Some touches dispatch touchesBegan: but not touchesMoved:

    I'm developing a multitouch application. One touch is expected to move, and I need to track its position. For all other touches, I need to track their beginnings and endings, but their movement is less critical. Sometimes, when 3 or more touches are active, my UIView does not receive touchesMoved: events for the moving touch. This problem is intermittent, and can always be reproduced after a few attempts: Touch the screen with 2 fingers. Touch the screen with another finger, and move this finger around. The moving finger always dispatches touchesBegan: and touchesEnded:, but sometimes does not dispatch any touchesMoved: events. Whenever the moving touch does not dispatch touchesMoved: events, I can force it to dispatch touchesMoved: if I move one of the other touches. This seems to "force" every touch to recheck its position, and I successfully receive a touchesMoved: event. However, this is clumsy. This bug is reproducible on both the iPhone 2G and 3GS models. My question is: How do I ensure that my moving touch dispatches touchesMoved: events? Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I've spent few fruitless days searching the web for answers. I found a post describing how to sync touch events with the VBL: http://www.71squared.com/2009/04/maingameloop-changes/ . However, this has not solved the problem. I really don't know how to proceed. Any help is appreciated!

  • Clear UITextField when standard number pad is pressed

    Hi all, I'm sorry if I didn't explain my problem well enough in the title. In my application, I'm using a small subview to create a very basic calculator on the top side of the screen (I just have an UITextField to show the operations and two buttons). Instead of using a custom keyboard for it, I want to use the standard iPhone number pad. My problem is that after doing an operation (e.g. adding two numbers) and showing the result, I cannot figure out how to clear the screen when the user enters a new number. So, for example: User enters "6" - Number 6 is shown in UITextField User selects "+" - UITextField is cleared to make room for the next number User enters "10" - Number 10 is shown in UITextField User selects "+" - 16 is shown as the result of the previous operation, and should stay there until another number is pressed (he wants to continue adding more numbers) User enters "5" At this point, if I was using a custom keyboard, I could clear the UITextField as soon as the button "5" is pressed by the user, but I cannot figure out how to do so when using the standard number pad. So, the result I get at the moment is "165". Is there a way to detect when a key is pressed in the standard number pad so that I can clear the UITextField before the new number appears? I thought there may be a NSNotification for that, but I couldn't find it. I'm aware that I could solve my problem if I created a custom keyboard or if I used two separated UITextFields (one for the operations and another one for the total), but I would like to use the standard number pad if it's possible.     Hi All, I want to achieve the following aspects in the software I am building: 1. Customizable entity model 2. Customizable UI 3. Customizable workflow I have thought about an approach to achieve this, I want you to review this and make suggestions: Entity objects should be plain objects and will hold just data Separate Entity model and DB Schema by using an framework (like NHibernate?). This will allow easy modification of entity objects. Business logic to fetch/modify entities has to be granular enough so that they can be invoked as part of the workflow. Business objects should not hold any state, and hence will contain only static methods The workflow will decide depending upon the "state" of an entity/entities which methods on business object/objects to invoke. The workflow should obtain the results of the processing and then pass on the business objects to the appropriate UI screen. The UI screen has to contain instructions about how to display a given entity/entites. Possibly the UI has to be generated dynamically based on a set of UI instructions. (like XUL) What do you think about this approach? Suggest which existing frameworks (like NHiberante, Window Workflow) fit into this model, so that I will not spend time on coding these frameworks Also suggest is there any asp.net framework that can generate dynamic asp.net ajax pages based on a set of UI instructions (like Mozilla XUL)? I have recently been exploring Apache Ofbiz and was impressed by its ability to customize most areas of the application: UI, workflow, entities. Is there any similar (not necessarily an ERP system) application developed in C#/.Net which offers a similar level of customization? I am looking for examples of applications developed in C# that are highly customizable in terms of UI, Workflow and Entity Model

    I keep stumbling on the format specifiers for the printf() family of functions. What I want is to be able to print a double (or float) with a maximum given number of digits after the decimal point. If I use: printf("%1.3f", 359.01335); printf("%1.3f", 359.00999); I get 359.013 359.010 Instead of the desired 359.013 359.01 Can anybody help me?

    Hello: I am having some trouble with a very basic string issue in Python (that I can't figure out). Basically, I am trying to do the following: '# read file into a string myString = file.read() '# Attempt to remove non breaking spaces myString = myString.replace("\u00A0"," ") '# however, when I print my string to output to console, I get: Foo **<C2><A0>** Bar I thought that the "\u00A0" was the escape code for unicode non breaking spaces, but apparently I am not doing this properly. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
