• UITableView Inactive Until Scroll iPhone

  HI, I'm trying to find the cause of some annoying behaviour with my UITableView. In each cell of my table (10 of them ) I asynchronously load an image. The problem is, is that if I don't touch the app at all the imageviews will permanently show a loading icon. However as soon as I scroll a cell off the screen and back on again the image shows straight away. What could be causing this "stuck in the mud" behaviour? • Jquery class changing works, but doesn't effect another function like it should

  So I have content boxes that close and expand when you click an arrow. The content box has two classes for telling whether it is open or closed (.box_open, .box_closed). A hover function is assigned to box_open so when it is open and you hover over the header, the arrow appears. However, I don't want this to happen when the box is closed, as I want to arrow to remain visible when the box is closed. When the box closes, the box_open class is removed, but the function assigned to that class still works. Here's the jquery code for the two functions.   I have classes that are named exactly the same across different plug-ins that I use for my application, and I'd like to be able to configure them properly with Hibernate. The problem is that it looks like Hibernate dynamically generates a class' package name when trying to find a class when it's doing its mapping. With one plug-in this scheme works, but across multiple plug-ins it's not working. It looks like Hibernate gets confused when dealing with Hibernate configuration files across multiple plug-ins. Is this because each plug-in has its own class-loader? What is the best way to proceed to make this work with the existing plug-ins and Hibernate?

Since the Twitter API only returns followers 100 at a time, a complete process may involve lots of calls. At the moment, I have an Ajax call to a method that runs the Twitter loop. Everything is working, but the updateFollowers method can take a fair amount of time. Is there some way I could return a progress value? For example, I'd like to update the web page on every iteration. I know ahead of time how many iterations there will be. I just can't figure out a way to update the page in the middle of that loop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

• Extensionless URLs in IIS 6

  My client has asked me to build a personalized URL system so that they can send out really short URLs in postcards to customers like this: www.client.com/JasonSmith03 www.client.com/TonyAdams With these URLs, I need IIS 6 to trap the incoming request and pass that “JasonSmith03” token to my database to determine which landing page to redirect them to. I’d love to use an HttpHandler or HttpModule but they both look like they require an file extension (.aspx) in the URL. Wildcard mapping will chew up every incoming request and that’s ridiculous. ISAPI filters are just text routing files, so I can’t employ logic to call the database. According to Scott Guthrie, this would be cake if I had IIS 7, but I don’t. Can this be done using MVC? I’ve been working with MVP for the last few years, so I haven’t done any MVC and routing. I thought I remembered that MVC has the ability to use REST-style extensionless URLs. I’d be more than happy to have these personalized URLs land on a site that’s built in MVC, if it will work. Thank you!

  When creating a web crawler, you have to design somekind of system that gathers links and add them to a queue. Some, if not most, of these links will be dynamic, which appear to be different, but do not add any value as they are specifically created to fool crawlers. An example: We tell our crawler to crawl the domain evil.com by entering an initial lookup URL. Lets assume we let it crawl the front page initially, evil.com/index The returned HTML will contain several "unique" links: evil.com/somePageOne evil.com/somePageTwo evil.com/somePageThree The crawler will add these to the buffer of uncrawled URLs. When somePageOne is being crawled, the crawler receives more URLs: evil.com/someSubPageOne evil.com/someSubPageTwo These appear to be unique, and so they are. They are unique in the sense that the returned content is different from previous pages and that the URL is new to the crawler, however it appears that this is only because the developer has made a "loop trap" or "black hole". The crawler will add this new sub page, and the sub page will have another sub page, which will also be added. This process can go on infinitely. The content of each page is unique, but totally useless (it is randomly generated text, or text pulled from a random source). Our crawler will keep finding new pages, which we actually are not interested in. These loop traps are very difficult to find, and if your crawler does not have anything to prevent them in place, it will get stuck on a certain domain for infinity. My question is, what techniques can be used to detect so called black holes? One of the most common answers I have heard is the introduction of a limit on the amount of pages to be crawled. However, I cannot see how this can be a reliable technique when you do not know what kind of site is to be crawled. A legit site, like Wikipedia, can have hundreds of thousands of pages. Such limit could return a false positive for these kind of sites. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

I want to copy it to the documents folder at installation and then, every time the app launches, get the newest version of this file from the Internet. In the onreadystatechange propperty, I need to call the callback method. • Problem with my Jquery loading in my Codeigniter views

  Hello, I am working on a one page website that allows the users to add and remove pages from there navigation as and when they would like too, the way it works is that if the click 'Blog' on the main nav a 'Blog' section should appear on the page, if they then click 'News' the 'News' section should also be visible, however the way I have started to implement this it seems I can only have one section at a time, can my code be adpated to allow multiple sections to shown on the main page.   I have a div with a background image that needs to be centered horizontally and vertically. On top of that image, I also want to display a 1-line text, also centered horizontally and vertically. I managed to get the image centered, but the text is not centered vertically. I thought vertical-align:middle would do the trick. • Too many open files in one of my java routine.

  I have a multithreaded code that has to generated a set of objects and write them to a file. When I run it I sometime get "Too many open files" message in Exception. I have checked the code to make sure that all the file streams are being closed properly. Here is the stack trace. When I do ulimit -a, open files allowed is set to 1024. We think increasing this number is not a viable option / solution. Why would a class loader load the same class file 200+ times. It seems it is opening up the base class as many time it create any child instance. Is this normal? Can it be handler any other way apart from increasing the number of open files?

  I have a while loop, with cUrl inside. (I can't use curl_multi for various reasons.) The problem is that cUrl seems to save the data it POSTS after each loop traversal.   Hi everyone, It's been a while. I found APIs in Java for extracting features from acoustic audio files and symbolic files separately. But now I have a problem in mapping from low level wav audio features to high level midi features. i.e. I need to write the extracted wav audio features on to midi format. But I cannot think of anything even close to it. Can someone pls provide me some insight as in how I can approach this. Greatly appreciate your responses. Advance thanks

• How to communicate between frames?

  I'm maintaining an application that goes sort of like this: There is a Page A with a Frame that shows Page B. Now page B is part of a completely different product, so there's a frame in a that just calls B. Now, they want that when B an option in B is clicked, the WHOLE page is redirected to another page in A. The problem is that the url of A is something like "www.client.MyCompany/Order/Details/123" But B doesnt know nothing about A, or which order # it is or anything, but Page A who has the frame B does know it. For know my solution is to just redirect to all the order so something like client.MyCompany/Orders but since B doesn't know which client it is, I'll add it in the webconfig. (so each client has its own webconfig with a different value). I dont find this solution optimal but I can't think of anything else! I already tried putting the needed url in page A in a hidden Div (since A does know all the info) and then trying to read the whole DOM of the page from B to find it.... unfortunately I can only get access to Frame B's DOM... (I tried with jquery). I know frames are evil, but this is how it is written... any ideas? Thanks!

  Long story short, I have a struct (see below) that contains exactly one field: private int value; I've also implemented implicit conversion operators: public static implicit operator int(Outlet val) { return val.value; } public static implicit operator Outlet(int val) { return new Outlet(val); } I've implemented all of the following : IComparable, IComparable<Cart>, IComparable<int>, IConvertible, IEquatable<Cart>, IEquatable<int>, IFormattable I'm at a point where I really have no clue why, but whenever I serialize this object, I get no value. For instance, with XmlSerialization: <Outlet /> Also, I'm not solely concerned about XmlSerialization, I'm concerned about ALL serialization (binary for instance) How can I ensure that this serializes properly? NOTE: I did this because mapping an int,int dictionary seemed rather poorly typed to me when explicit objects with validation behavior were desired.
