  • Change URL of WebBrowser in C#

    I am designing a simple application using c# and it has a web browser in it. I need to either (preferably) refresh the page that is currently inside the broswer, or navigate to a "new" url. I tried Browser.Url = new Uri("http://www.pandora.com/"); but I get an error when I try to compile it. Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'string' to 'System.Uri' c:\users\sean\documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\Pandora\Pandora\Form1.cs 51 27 Pandora What am I doing wrong?

  • How to list rpm packages/subpackages sorted by total size

    Looking for an easy way to postprocess rpm -q output so it reports the total size of all subpackages matching a regexp, e.g. see the aspell* example below. (Short of scripting it with Python/PERL/awk, which is the next step) (Motivation: I'm trying to remove a few Gb of unnecessary packages from a CentOS install, so I'm trying to track down things that are a) large b) unnecessary and c) not dependencies of anything useful like gnome. Ultimately I want to pipe the ouput through sort -n to what the space hogs are, before doing rpm -e) My reporting command looks like [1]: cat unwanted | xargs rpm -q --qf '%9.{size} %{name}\n' > unwanted.size and here's just one example where I'd like to see rpm's total for all aspell* subpackages: root# rpm -q --qf '%9.{size} %{name}\n' `rpm -qa | grep aspell` 1040974 aspell 16417158 aspell-es 4862676 aspell-sv 4334067 aspell-en 23329116 aspell-fr 13075210 aspell-de 39342410 aspell-it 8655094 aspell-ca 62267635 aspell-cs 16714477 aspell-da 17579484 aspell-el 10625591 aspell-no 60719347 aspell-pl 12907088 aspell-pt 8007946 aspell-nl 9425163 aspell-cy Three extra nice-to-have things: list the dependencies/depending packages of each group (so I can figure out the uninstall order) Also, if you could group them by package group, that would be totally neat. Human-readable size units like 'M'/'G' (like ls -h does). Can be done with regexp and rounding on the size field. Footnote: I'm surprised up2date and yum don't add this sort of intelligence. Ideally you would want to see a tree of group-package-subpackage, with rolled-up sizes. Footnote 2: I see yum erase aspell* does actually produce this summary - but not in a query command.     I've been looking for a good book for windows shell programming, and the only one I could find is Visual C++ Windows Shell Programming by Dino Eposito: http://www.wintellect.com/BookInformation.aspx?ASIN=1861001843 It is an old book, and I'd like to know if you know of any good resources which could help. I need to develop a couple of windows explorer extensions, and apparently managed code is not recommended by Microsoft at least for some of these tasks.   • ASP.Net Webservice - Constructors with Parameters

    Hi, I'm fairly new to WebService developement and have just set up my own webservice (ASP.Net 3.5, Visual Studio 2008 .asmx file). I can not find a way of setting up my webservice to take parameters on the constructor. If i create a constructor that takes parameters, it is not then shown when i hook up to the webservice from my application (it only shows a parameterless constructor). Am i missing something blatently obvious, or is this not possible (and why not)? Thanks.

  • Kernel panic while loading Mac OS X on VMWare

    I'm trying to run Mac OS X 10.6.3 on VMWare 7.1 from within Windows 7 64 bit. Trying to run the OS X doesn't work - shortly after booting VMWare announces the machine's death with this pop-up message: The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. You will need to power off or reset the virtual machine at this point. The console has a more interesting announcement: The real-time clock was not properly initialized on your system! With a dump of the detected CPU speed (~2.9 GHz), FSB (~94 MHz) and bus ratio (31). Somehow, the code that panics is documented in an accidental .diff file here. Apparently, it commits seppuku if the bus ratio is greater than 30. I underclocked my E6500 to a slower speed, but this apparently didn't make any difference. I can think of two possibilities right now: The CPU info being read is constant, and defines the maximum ability of the CPU. In which case it appears I'm screwed. VMWare presents its own CPU info to the machine, which I can perhaps somehow change. If so, how? If these sound completely off, that's because I'm a real newbie in these matters. Here's hoping you guys can show me the light :-)

    This is my last resort. I've been trying to figure out the problem here for hours. Here's the deal: I have copied my private key from machine #1 onto machine #2. Machine #1 is able to connect via ssh to a server with my public key just fine, but machine #2 gives the following output, when trying to connect to the server: $ ssh -vvv -i /home/kevin/.ssh/kev_rsa [email protected] -p 22312 OpenSSH_5.3p1 Debian-3ubuntu6, OpenSSL 0.9.8k 25 Mar 2009 debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: Applying options for * debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0 debug1: Connecting to 192.168.1.244 [192.168.1.244] port 22312. debug1: Connection established. debug3: Not a RSA1 key file /home/kevin/.ssh/kev_rsa. debug2: key_type_from_name: unknown key type '-----BEGIN' debug3: key_read: missing keytype debug3: key_read: missing whitespace debug3: key_read: missing whitespace debug3: key_read: missing whitespace debug3: key_read: missing whitespace ... Permission denied (publickey). There is obviously more debug output that I have omitted, and I can provide upon request. I am convinced however that it doesn't like my private key file. I also had a suspicion that it has to do with how I copied it from machine #1 to machine #2. I copy/pasted the text from the private key onto a flash drive. This might be the problem, however, when I duplicated this method on another working private key file, and did a diff on the original, to the copy/pasted one, they are identical. I've been struggling with this. If I could just get a little more information on why it doesn't like my key, I could fix it I'm sure. Anyone have any ideas on this? Is there some meta-data somewhere that tells ssh that a file is in fact an RSA key?

    SA1124 DoNotUseRegions suggest that region should not be used anywhere. Is it really reasonable? I think region is a way to group relative code together and make large class easy to read, for example, if you generate interface method in for class, a region will be automatically inserted by visual studio. I would like to remove this rule while checking code style. May I know your ideal on this rule?

  • How to tackle dell support system? [closed]

    We have purchased a Dell Optiplex 9010 SSFV for our organization's work. Since the first installation two of the USB keyboard keys were not working properly. I had to press those keys two times simultaneously, on first time keys did not work and for for second time it printed two characters (as it were buffering first character.) Two keys that were not working properly: Hexangrave (Below the ESC key: `) Double Quotes (Left the enter key ") We registered our complaint with DELL and they suggested (with some hard to understand and weird ENGLISH accent) some test and tricks, such as switching to different ports, checking keyboard on different PC, and it worked well with diff. PC(with Windows 7 Home Premium installed). It was clear that it is an OS fault, hence they suggested to re-install OS. Problem began here, we have a project on the run and currently a video editing project setup on our system, so can't re-install system in hurry and also DELL persons were not providing any other solution such as updating keyboard driver, etc. Arguments I am a Software Engg. and don't think it is a feasible solution to re-install entire system for simple problems. This prob is coming since the fresh system installation, so I don't think it will solve the problem. Finally, I had to find solution myself and got it here, now I want to show my disappointment to dell persons or at least tell them that they should improve there support system to not advice to re-install entire system for that simple problems. Notes We have purchased 5 years NEXT business day support from DELL for around 8000 INR (Not for that kind of solutions from DELL). So can anyone tell me how to tackle dell support system officially, so that they will pay more attention in near future. Thanks
