• Looking for full web based booking system

  I've searched around here but could not find any booking system that would suit my need. I hope maybe you can help me out. I've already seen question #11379 over here. Solutions provided there are not helping and scripts not interesting. I'm looking for a booking system that support infinite number of hotels/rooms/pricingschemes. There should be unlimited number of hotel owner/users, who can access control panel and set availability for their hotel. Or create seasonal prices and adjust them. I should be able to have 15% booking fee paid through credit cart. I can work on integration with my system, it just needs to have correct APi/functionality to support this. I love wordpress so if there are some nice plugins for that, I'm open for suggestions. But this is not a must. It should be php/mysql based as I'm not good at anything else :)

I had to use Firefox because of problems running Mockaroo on Internet Explorer 11. • Assigning a different texture based on picking(XNA)

  I'm making a game using XNA. I have some simple objects like cube and sphere, and I would like to change the texture of one face of these objects based on picking. That is, when the cursor is over one face, it turns red. The only way I've seen to do this is to overload the content processor as here: http://xbox.create.msdn.com/en-US/education/catalog/sample/picking_triangle but it seems like it shouldn't be this complicated. I'm using .x models, and would like to be able to implement this for more complex models in the future beyond cubes/spheres/etc. Is this the best/only way to go about it? I'll figure that out if that's what is necessary, but it seems that there would be a simpler solution to load a different texture to a face than I've seen, I just don't know what it is.

• Decent FREE Web Based FTP Alternatives?

  Like the subject mentions, I'm looking for a free FTP Alternative that's web based. What I need is the ability to grant people like our marketing team the ability to upload marketing images and instantly have those images show up in ourdomain.com/images/newimage.jpg. I have found plenty of excellent file sharing programs that are essentially drop box and sharepoint alternatives but have yet to find an FTP Alternative. Also ideally multiple account authentication would be great. If anyone is familiar with cPanel I'm essentially looking for their File Manager or something very similar to it (obviously stand alone and preferably free). Does anybody know if anything like this exists?

• svn-based versioning tool, problem with network timeout

  My dev team was committed a versioning tool based on Subversion to run on Windows (our svn client is sliksvn). We're developing with Delphi XE2, should that matter. We're asked to implement a "check for updates availability" feature, which has to work as follows: Connect to the SVN repo via svn+ssh protocol; See if there are changes to receive and list them; Let the user decide if he wants to receive changes or not. We don't have a great knowledge on svn, so we thought to implement that thing client side by a certain number of CreateProcess calls that wrap directly proper svn commands. Anyways what we perceived is that if network problems should arise, such like a connection drop, svn client hangs forever waiting for the operation to close instead of failing for timeout. We know that CreateProcess can be given a timeout argument, but it wouldn't be correct to use it, as we can't know from outside how long will be the svn operation taking to complete. Is there any way to avoid that deadlock?

• Determine how to display a tile based on surrounding tiles

  I have a game engine which generates maps randomly, set on a 2d grid which is composed of 34px square graphical tiles. These tiles can be displayed in any of three ways, wall, corner, and floor(exists in 2 states, passable and impassible), and four directions, north, south, west and east. What I need to do is, based on the tiles around each individual tile, determine which state to display the tile in, e.g. north wall, northeast corner, floor so that when a player alters the map, the tiles around the affected tile adjust themselves to suit(i.e. tunneling). In case it becomes important, all gameobjects are inherited from the same class, whether they be players, NPC's, walls, or items.

• Going from webforms, VS 2008, 3.5 framework to the "next level" based on my goals

  I've got a few choices to make as I develop some business websites that will run for the next two to three years. Currently I run ASP.NET 3.5 with Visual Studio 2008. I do my development rather crudely in WebForms because that's what I learned and am most productive with. I don't use Membership or any other frameworks in my projects. I use a simple class that maintains a few session keys for each user based on basic database tables for users and roles. (I have about 3,000 users). So far I've kept the data simple, using ADO.NET against SQL Server and a data access class (Circa 2000, I know) to build my sites. My questions are as follows: Under what conditions would I be better off moving to MVC? Under what conditions would I find LINQ and ORM a better way to go than standard ADO.NET? Would I benefit, in my current state of development, from going from Studio 2008 to Studio 2010?

The company I am a part of switched to Unity not too long ago, and we're all very excited to get started using it However, one aspect that have sparked my interested, and which I think will become a very important part of our future development, is Unity's approach to component-based design with scripting; with less focus on typical hierarchical aspect. Question I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good books on this subject? I have had trouble finding any books or books with reliable reviews, and was wondering if anyone more experienced here had something to say on the issue? Any other kind of resource would be excellent too, I'm just interested in getting to learn everything I can about it. • Color based collision detection

  I am making a game where you fly a ship around some randomly generated planets. Since I am using a for loop to draw over 5000 planets, using the rectangle class or an oval-type class for this is not an option, since creating many objects will severely affect performance. Bitmasking each planet will likely result in performance issues too, so the only candidate is color based collision detection, because I don't need to apply some sort of object to everything I want to check for collisions. Is any way to check the perimeter around the ship for a certain color?

• In windows xp, how can I set the default browser from chrome to IE via Command Line, without admin privs

  Situation: 1. Need to Set the defualt browser to IE via cmd(problem) 2. Need to do a citrix login via IE(amounts to loading a url) beause it wont run in google chrome 3. then set default browser to chrome Environment: Windows XP, no admin priv's no admin priv's mean I can't touch registry Basic Steps I'm Doing: In a bat file: 1.Set default browser to IE 2.run a citrix SSO login via IE (not compatible with chrome) 3.Set default browser to Chrome 4.kill IE 5.live long and prosper So i have it all running except "Set default browser to IE" I can set the default browser to chome by using portable chrome's cmd line argument --make-default-browser but I can't undo that process. If I launch IE, it pops up that 'make ie default browser' window which stops the SSO process. So If I can disable that check via bat file, that would also work for me. • Excel-based Performance Reviews transformed into Web Application for Performance Management

  HR TMS provides enterprise talent management solutions for healthcare, retail and corporate customers, focusing on performance management, compensation management and succession planning. As the competency of nurses and other healthcare workers is critical, the government, via the Joint Commission (JCAHO), tightly monitors their performances. On a regular basis, accredited healthcare organizations are required to review employee performance using a complex set of position dependent job descriptions and competencies. Middlesex Hospital managed their performance reviews for 2500 employees manually with Excel spreadsheets. This was a labor intensive process that proved to be error prone and difficult to manage. Reviews were not always where they belonged and the job descriptions and competencies for healthcare workers were difficult to keep accurate and up to date. As a result, when the Joint Commission visited and requested to see specific review documentation, there was intense stress. Middlesex Hospital needed to automate their review process, pull in the position information from those spreadsheets and be able to deliver reviews online. Users needed to have online access to those reviews from a standard browser. Although the manual system had its issues, it did have the advantage of being very comprehensive and familiar to users. The decision was made to provide a web-based solution that leveraged the look and feel of those spreadsheets in order to insure user acceptance of the system and minimize the training needed. • JMX Based Monitoring - Part One

  In all versions of the Oracle Utilities Application Framework there is an ability to use Java Management eXtensions (JMX) to both manage and monitor the various components of the product. This means that sites can use a JSR120 compliant JMX browser or JMX console to view or manage the components of the product with little or no configuration required. In each version we have progressively added JMX capabilities to allow IT groups more detailed information. In Oracle Utilities Application Framework V2.1 and above it was possible to use JMX on the Web Application Server provided Mbeans to allow you to monitor the online component of the product as well as manage the configuration. Also with a few additional java options it is possible to get a good level of detail about the Java Virtual machine including memory and thread usage. In Oracle Utilities Application Framework V2.2 and above, we added support for Java 5 statistics (Java enabled them by default), database pool statistics and also added the ability to manage and moinitor the batch component of the architecture. Now, in Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4 and above, we added support for Java 6 MXBeans, online management of the cache using JMX, additional JVM information and Performance monitoring using JMX. JMX allows the product to be managed from a common console such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Tivoli, HP OpenView (and a lot more). Over the next week or so I will be compiling a set of blog entries discussing what is available (in summary format) using JMX and how to get access to the JMX statistics for your version of the product.

• chromium-browser usus 99,99% IO disk

  My favorite browser: chromium is testing my patience. For some reason it sometimes uses 99,99% of I/O. (reading 2-3MB/s) Other processes (updatedb.mlocate, [kswapd0], clementine, compiz) show the same behavior. However this problem always starts and ends with chromium. To illustrate the impact on my system: when my disk starts to spin like crazy en the led burns continiously the system is so slow that it takes about two to five minuits to switch to tty6, log in and execute "killall chromiumbrowser && killall chromium" This is way faster than starting a new terminal in X, just starting a terminal seems to heavy for compiz under these circumstances. Waiting until its over takes more than 30 minuits, if it ends at all. The exact circumstances are difficult to replicate. Several tabs have to be open, usualy 8 or more. It seems that the chance to increases when more complex sites like gmail of plugins like flash are running. Opening several new tabs at omgubunt.co.uk has the best chance to replecate this isue. I have no idea where to start looking for a solution. Any help would be greatly apreciated ubuntu 12.10 | 2GB | 2x 1.66GHz Intel | 32bit | IBM Thinkpad R60e

• Browser automatically refreshes and Home folder window opens

  I am facing a very strange problem. Out of the blue, my browser starts refreshing itself infinitely. My first guess was firefox is messing up. I installed chrome. But, it happens in chrome as well. Other than that, sometimes my home folder automatically opens and keep opening itself infinitely. My next guess was Mouse is faulty. Replace the mouse - but same things. This happens even if I remove my keyboard. What can be the reason? This started happening after I installed Ubuntu 10.10 few days back. Earlier on windows, everything was working fine. So, I am a bit skeptical to assume that this is a hardware fault. How to fix this problem? • How to launch standard browser out of Java application?

• Is there a way to remove the source domain from the window title in an out-of-browser Silverlight 3

  We may not have the option to migrate over to Silverlight 4 right away, so I was wondering if anyone found a way to remove the source domain name from the window's title for out-of-browser Silverlight 3 applications. Our window title currently looks like this: "My App - localhost." Under Mac, I found the Info.plist file in the application bundle and found where you can set the Bundle name property as well as TrimmedSourceDomain. Unfortunately, when I clear the TrimmedSourceDomain property, the title looks like "My App -," and if I delete the property entirely, the application doesn't launch. I assume similar problems would occur under Windows. Have any of you found a workaround?

• browser back acts on nested iframe before the page itself - is there a way to avoid it??

  hi, i have a page with dynamic data loaded by some ajax and lots of javascript. the page contains a list from which the user can choose and each selected value loads new data to the page. one of these data items is a url provided to an iframe. i use jQuery BBQ: Back Button & Query Library to simulate the browser-back behavior. all works well besides the fact that when i click the back button for the first time the iframe goes back to its previous location and then i need to click back again to make the page go back. is there a way to disable the iframe's back behavior?

• Can I use the browser's word-wrapping from JavaScript?

  I have some text in a div. It can be any Unicode text under the sun, including Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Now, I need to take this text and word-wrap it in JavaScript in some efficient but correct manner. (Because I need to make each line start with "" in a textarea.) Browsers have an implementation of the Unicode Word Wrap algorithm, as is evidenced by word-wrapping Unicode text in a with CSS. (At least, Firefox has such an algorithm, and I suspect other browsers do as well.) What I need is some way for JavaScript to use the same word-wrapping algorithm, so that I can properly wrap and then "quote" Unicode text. Is there any way for JavaScript to use the browser's word-wrapping algorithm, or to know where text has been line-broken in a div or any other element?
