  I have created a view in which i`m using clientsidevalidation. The jquery has a textbox , a table and a submit button. The table is empty at the beginning. Using jquery I populate the table with 2 columns ID and Name. I send the values to the controller using the submit button. My question are as follows: How do I send the values of the texbox and the table to the controller? Any guide please.

  I need to build two objects: an OrderList and an Order. Using those two objects, I have to populate a DataGridView with a history of the orders. However, I am instructed not to use binding sources for the connection or other drag and drop controls. Unfortunately, from Google it seems like those are the most popular options for this type of problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don't have much experience with C#. Thanks.

  Windows 7 allows you to select multiple files to open at once by using ctrl or shift key. The "File Name" input field at the bottom of the dialog box would auto populate with the following sample: "aaa.txt" "bbb.txt" "ccc.txt" "ddd.txt" I have 14,000 files in a folder and I only need a range of files (approx 500). When I use the shift key to select a range of files, the "File Name" field auto populates all 500 file names. Windows would cut me off at the 260th character when I try to paste in a pre-generated string into the "File Name" field. Is there a way to bypass the 260 character limit so it would accept my entire string with 500 file names?

  I'm trying to install a software called Teambox in my Dreamhost shared account. I have no experience with Rails. I just want to install the software in the shared hosting. In this shared hosting, all dependencies are ok, but I have to create the dabatase from their panel. I can't create in command line (ssh). So, when I run "rake db:create" these's an error, because the db already exists (because I created in panel). I've already contacted support. They can't change this policy. How do I populate my tables "by hand" in this case? Which files should I look inside Teambox's folder... Thanks!

I found a blog post that recommends adding another custom field like "FileName" and then using a item reciever to populate the custom field with the value from the Name field but that seems cheesy.   I have a div which I am using as a footer to display some content. I have put the style as: .pageFooter{ position:absolute; bottom:0px; width:100%; height:25px; background:#e6e6e6; } This style works well when there is not content in the body of page. But when I populate the page with content, say datagrid, the div is overlaps data in datagrid. What changes should I make to the style to let the div be at the bottom always. I am using IE* to view the pages.

• Rails ActiveRecord - How to set association save order

  I have a weird relationship that needs to be maintained for legacy processes. I'm trying to figure out how to create the relationship given the new model association. New Relationship Setup Machine has_many MachineReadings has_many Disks has_many DiskReadings Old Relationship Setup Machine has_many MachineReadings has_many DiskReadings has_many Disks The problem is data will come in on the Machine model as nested attributes using the new relationship setup. I need to update the machine_reading_id in the DiskReading model so the old association can continue to be used. I tried doing this via an after_save hook that would traverse back up to the machine and then down to the readings to get the machine_reading.id so I could populate the DiskReading model. However, the associations aren't being saved in the order I would expect. They are saving the Disks & DiskReadings before saving the MachineReadings. So when I go after the machine_reading.id it hasn't been written and thus I am unable to get access to it. I am trying to generate a form, with a dynamic number of text fields, to populate and edit the contents of my custom table. • Ruby methods within Javascript within HAML

  I have a jQuery script that adds a new field to a form, and this field contains dynamic information from an array. The problem is that I can't figure out how to add an array.each to populate the options of the select field within the javascript without breaking the HAML indentation and causing errors.   I think the best way to explain this is to tell you what I have. I have two tables A and B both have columns Field1 and Field2. However Field 2 is not populated in table B I want to populate field 2 of table B with field 2 of table A where field 1 of table A matches field 1 of table B. something like update tableB set Field2 = tableA.field2 where tablea.field1 = tableb.field1. The reason this may seem so odd and obscure is that I'm tyring to do an inital data load form an old database to a new one. please let me know if you need clarification

  I have a custom .Net DataService and can't figure out how to return the data for relationships. The data base has 2 tables (Customer, Address). A Customer can have multiple addresses, but each address can only have on customer. I'm using Dictionary<string,object> as my data type. My question, for the following 2 urls how do i return the data. http://localhost/DataService/Customer(1)/Address http://localhost/DataService/Address(1)/Customer For the none relational queries I return a List<Dictionary<string,object>> So I imagined for the relation I should just populate the element with a either a Dictionary<string,object> for the single ones and a List<Dictionary<string,object>> for many relationships. But this just gives me a NullRefferenceException So what am I doing wrong?

  I understand that we can export data matrices to csv or xlsx files. What about complex objects like lm? For example, in my work I might have a list of length 1000, each with a single lm() object. Each time I load R I have to wait a long time to populate the 1000 length list with these lm objects with a for loop or a lapply. I would rather just save the list somewhere on my HDD at the end of a session and open it at the start of the next session.

  I have a data input module where I add the information of my product and its sub information like: product basic info product price info product price details price info and price details are related to product and are lists In my web forms approach I would store my main product object on the view state and I would populate it's pricing info and details while doing ajax postbacks. This way I can create a compact module that is very user friendly in terms of defining a lot of data from one place without the need to enter these data from seperate modules. And when I am done I would do one product.save() and that would persist all the data to the respective tables on db. Now I am building similar app on .net mvc framework and pondering on what would be the good way of handling this on mvc. I don't resonate towards storing all this on client side till I click save. And saving to the db after each action makes me remember the days I was coding on asp. Will appreciate your inputs on ways to approach this on mvc framework

  With a DataContext and a blank file-based database that already exists, is it possible to write the Data Context classes (i.e. the ones I added to the designer) to create the db schema? With a data context I only see the abilities to either: create a new database file and have its structure created at the same time, or to populate data into an existing database having preexisting schema. I'm looking for a hybrid solution between those two worlds. • Is it possible to manipulate the format on a DataGridView that is bound to a Data Source?

  I´m using SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2008, C#. In the data source (the SQL Server data table) I use the date format mm/dd/yyyy, however, in a forms overview (DataGridView) users would like to see a completely other format, with year, week number and day number of week (yyww,d). I´ve created an algorithm for this transformation, but can I populate the affected cells with yyww,d instead of mm/dd/yyyy? And in that case - how would I do it? I guess I need to do it after the cells are populated, but before they are shown. The generic question is - how do I manipulate the format of Data Source bound DataGridView cells.

• Reading in data from a file into an array

  If I have an options file along the lines of this: size = 4 data = 1100010100110010 And I have a 2d size * size array that I want to populate the values in data into, what's the best way of doing it? To clarify, for the example I have I'd want an array like this: int[4][4] array = {{1,1,0,0}, {0,1,0,1}, {0,0,1,1}, {0,0,1,0}}. (Not real code but you get the idea). Size can be really be any number though. I'm thinking I'd have to read in the size, maloc an array and then maybe read in a string full of data then loop through each char in the data, cast it to an int and stick it in the appropriate index? But I really have no idea how to go about it, have been searching for a while with no luck. Any help would be cool! :)

• VB.NET Use WebRequest to check if URI is valid

  Looking for the best way to determine if a URI exists in VB.NET without downloading the actual content. System.IO.FileExists/My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists can be used locally to determine if a file exists, is there an equivalent for the Web? Currently I am using a HttpWebRequest to check URI existance using the ResponseStream. This populates the stream if the target does exist and throws an exception if it doesn't. The function is being expanded to also check for PDF files (typically 5MB +), images, etc and it will be a waste of time/bandwidth to actually populate the content into a stream. In the case of "Success" (the target does exist) I do not wish to download the file or page, simply to end up with a Boolean which indicates the whether something exists at the end of this URI.

• Communication between Multiple Threads in a WPF Application

  I'm creating a WPF application that uses a custom object to populate all the controls. The constructor of that object is initiated by an EventHandler that waits for an API. The problem I'm having is when I try to access any information from that object using a button for example, it returns an error saying "The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it". I'm assuming this is because the EventHandler creates a new thread which doesn't allow the Main Thread to have access to it. Any ideas on how to get around this? I'm basically having the error "The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it" when trying to get or set a CollectionViewSource.

Consider: Perhaps a list the 50 United States names is an easy thing to find (does one include DC?) , but the countries are not.   Is there a way to keep the value binding to the object, but have the optionsValue be a property on the object. As of now if I specify both, the optionsValue property that is selected will populate the value binding. Id like to keep the object intact in the observable, but specify what value to be set in the select list value. • exporting html table multi line columns to excel multi line cells

  I have a html table in a view MVC4 that I am sending to excel as output. Inside the view page I have some columns that have multiple lines that are built with forloops within the HTML. What's the best way to add the or \r\n so that excel renders it correctly? I have a table and inside I build each row looping thru a recordset. In each row I also loop thru different recordsets to populate columns within each row so that some of the columns may contain more than one value and they should show in different lines in the table that will export to excel.
