  • Does anyone know of a good Commercial WPF Web Browser Control?

    I have an MDI WPF app that I need to add web content too. At first, great it looks like I have 2 options built into the framework the Frame control and the WebBrowser control. Given that this is an MDI app it doesn't take long to discover that neither of these will work. The WebBrowser control wraps up the IE WebBrowser ActiveX Control which uses the Win32 graphics pipeline. The "Airspace" issue pretty much sums this up as "Sorry, the layouts will not play nice together". Yes, I have thought about taking snapshots of the web content rendering these and mapping the mouse and keyboard events back to the browser control, but I can't afford the performance penalty and I really don't have time to write and thoroughly test it. I have looked for third party controls, but so far I have only found Chris Cavanagh's WPF Chromium Web Browser control. Which wraps up Awesomium 1.5. Together these are very cool, they play nice with the WPF layouts. But they do not meet my performance requirements. They are VERY HEAVY on memory consumption and not to friendly with CPU usage either. Not to mention still quite buggy. I'll elaborate if you are interested. So, do any of you know of a stable performant WPF web browser control? Thanks.

  • PHP Streaming CSV always adds UTF-8 BOM

    The following code gets a 'report line' as an array and uses fputcsv to tranform it into CSV. Everything is working great except for the fact that regardless of the charset I use, it is putting a UTF-8 bom at the beginning of the file. This is exceptionally annoying because A) I am specifying iso and B) We have lots of users using tools that show the UTF-8 bom as characters of garbage. I have even tried writing the results to a string, stripping the UTF-8 BOM and then echo'ing it out and still get it. Is it possible that the issue resides with Apache?   • Is this a tableView issue or a CoreData Issue

    I have a CoreData-driven navigation app and I'm trying to figure out why It's crashing. I've got a hierarchy which is 3 view Controllers deep, all related by coredata relatioships, like this. TableViewA =relationship= TableViewB =relationship= TableViewC I'm honestly a novice at core data and I think my problem lies in the fetched results controller. I have one in TableViewA and another in TableViewB, and no matter how deep I go, the console always cites TableViewB's fetched results controller methods after a crash. Is this the problem? What's happening specifically is if I launch my app and drill down into the hierarchy of one record, let's call it Record1, I can delete sub records to my hearts content. Gone! no problem! But the second I go back to TableViewA and drill down into a different record, let's call that one Record2, and try to delete it's subrecords my app crashes, with the console citing this code from TableViewB as the problem. - (void)controllerWillChangeContent:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller { // The fetch controller is about to start sending change notifications, so prepare the table view for updates. Oh and how many ManagedObjectContexts should I have in an app of this type. I've been told I should have separate ones for adding content, which then should re-integrate into the main one. I've used the Live HTTP Headers extension for Firefox to check whether the POST fields get submitted, and they do. I have pieced together an approach from several sources (see below). In short, I am trying to locate the title node and add a meta node after it (in the HTML head node). But, I get an access violation.     Hi, I have successfully configured Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 with SQL Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 all 64 bit, however when I tried to access this particular SQL Server 2008 DB instance from another SQL Server 2008 SSMS in another Windows Server 2008 it failed ? what I did is to disabled the IPv6 IP address using the regedit but still the problem hasn't been fixed even after restart ? I have enabled the named piped as well but still no luck ? any help please ?     I have recently managed to get my employer to pay for a vps. I teach and asked the vps provider to enable Perl, Python, Ruby, Tomcat and Java. They've done the first four (really quickly) but have got back to me asking which parts of Java I need. I think the Java Virtual Machine is a given but what other S/W do I need to get installed? I think by getting the vps I now have the chance to teach Enterprise Java and want to get into Java Message Server and Enterprise patterns. Can I get Glassfish installed or is that a silly question?     I moved into a new place and my old Wi-Fi router just doesn't have the range to get into all the rooms. I've been investigating a lot of options and I'm wondering what other folks have done here. Moving the current location of my primary Wi-Fi router is not an option thanks to our cable provider and our landlord. Buy a bigger, beefier router (seems expensive). If so, should I go for one of those draft 802.11n ones to avoid microwave/other Wi-Fi router interference? Set up a router with DD-WRT as a repeater Leech the neighbors' open Wi-Fi access point. Alright, I was kidding about the last one but I'm genuinely curious as to what my best option is.

  • Trouble parsing quotes with SAX parser (javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser)

    When using a SAX parser, parsing fails when there is a " in the node content. How can I resolve this? Do I need to convert all " characters? In other words, anytime I have a quote in a node: <node>characters in node containing "quotes"</node> That node gets butchered into multiple character arrays when the Handler is parsing it. Is this normal behaviour? Why should quotes cause such a problem?   • Can I create template-based library objects in Dreamweaver CS5?

    At work we need two 'streams' of template. The first are general layout templates, like the ones already available in the MX through CS5 packages (except we'd have our own customised ones). The second are more granular objects, some of which are functional. In both cases, I don't want Jimmy to be able to wreak havoc inside anything other than the 'editable regions' which make up the templates. Now this is fine if I stick with the first scenario (layout templates) where there's simply a big chunk of editable region for good ole Jim to sprawl into, think of this as the 'body content' area. But I really do need these granular library (or snippet) objects to work in the same way. Unfortunately with my attempts so far they don't work as I'd have thought - perhaps for good reason? When I create a blank template and throw in my chunk of HTML (unobstrusive JS and external CSS use selectors in this HTML to provide style and function) and save it as a new library item or snippet, all looks well. Then I create a new document based on a layout template and save it as a plain html file (still all good so far). Next I drop in my custom library item... still all good... but then I go to save the document and it only allows me to save it as a new template! I expected it would just allow me to save it as HTML and have it simply respect the defined editable regions, as happens in the containing page 'body content' editable region. Apologies if that got specific and technical quite quickly, but it is quite particular. If you want some example files lemme know and I'll zip some up. Many thanks :) p.s It is not a requirement that library objects must somehow inject their dependency files into the newly created page - I already know what they'll be. Also, I know I must 'detatch from original' once I drop a library item into a document which then allows customisation of the library object.

    Hi, Just trying to get the new API for the goo.gl URL shortening service working on my iPhone, following the instructions on http://code.google.com/apis/urlshortener/v1/getting_started.html I'm set up and the API is enabled etc., but when I send a request in the recommended format: POST https://www.googleapis.com/urlshortener/v1/url Content-Type: application/json {"longUrl": "http://www.google.com/"} I get an error returned. The error is exactly the one listed on that page in the errors section for if you haven't passed in a longURL param. This makes me think that I'm not setting up the body of the POST request properly.   • Monitoring IIS with SNMP

    Hello, I'm trying to monitor IIS using the Windows integrated SNMP service (for versions 2000, 2003 ans 2008 of Windows Server, but i'm doing my experiments on a 2008 R2 box). So far I was able to install the SNMP service, and query mib-2 values without problems. Now, I'm having trouble to monitor IIS informations, as the SNMP service does not seem to know about the .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.microsoft.software.internetServer OIDs. Walking the entire SNMP tree only gets the mib-2 stuff as well as the names of some services, but that's it. I did't find anything interesting in the service configuration panel. So how do I configure this service to get IIS information, or other WMI data for that matter (I installed the SNMP WMI Provider) ? I can't find any documentation about that !

  • Which Django 1.2.x multilingual application to use?

    There are a couple of different applications for internationalized content in Django. As of now I only have used http://code.google.com/p/django-multilingual/ in my production environments, but I wonder if there are "better" solutions for my wishes. What my staff users need is the following: An object is being created by a staff user in any language (e.g. "de") This object should be displayed in the german version of the website. When a staff user translates the object into a different language (e.g. "fr"), then the page must be visible in the french version as well. If an object is not translated in the visitor's currently selected language (e.g. "en"), then calling the objects url shall raise a 404 Error (or even better a notice that the object is only available in the languages "de" and "fr", and the visitor might be able to select one of the languages) My staff users are working in the admin interface, so the multilingual application must support this as well. I don't really care whether the multilingual app uses a single table with many fields (like title_en, title_de, title_fr) or a foreign key to a related table (as it is implemented in django-multlingual). I only want it to have a good admin interface and no "default" language, because some content might be available just in "de", and some other just in "fr" and "en". And the most important issue of course is compatibility with Django 1.2.x. What are your experiences and preferred apps, and why?

    Hello I just read this article which I find concerning: "After 90 minutes of troubleshooting, Nash traced the problem to TeamViewer, which he used to remotely administer the client's servers. It turns out the program had opened up its own webserver on the client's machine as soon as Apache went down and in the process made it impossible for the client, a large provider of business software, to restart its proper website." http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/07/24/teamviewer_snafu/ I started using TeamViewer recently because it's just much better than UltraVNC (runs on both XP and Vista, the server dials out instead of requiring the user to open a port on their router + better performance than UVNC)... but I thought that TeamViewer had both the server and client connect out to TV's web server for data to flow between the two hosts. Why does TV even need to open a web server on the server host? Thank you.

    Hi, I am experiencing some weird encoding behaviour in my ASP.NET MVC project. In my Site.Master there is <div class="logo"> <a href="<%=Url.Action("Index", "Win7")%>"><%= Html.Encode("Windows 7 Tutoriál") %></a></div> which translates to the resulting page as <div class="logo"> <a href="/">Windows 7 TutoriA?l</a></div> However, in the Index.aspx there is <h1> Windows 7 Tutoriál</h1> which translates correctly on the same resulting page. I do have <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> as my first line in <head>. Locally, both files are saved in UTF-8 encoding. Any ideas why is this happening and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

I don't understand this at all, thanks.

  • IIS 6.0 subdomains with host headers and non existent subdomains

    Hey Everyone - We have a wildcard A-Record pointing to our IP and have a number of sites running on IIS 6 with host headers and have a a wildcard SSL certificate for the domain so that each site can run under SSL. For example: https://A.foo.com https:/B.foo.com https:/C.foo.com Everything is working well but I noticed that when we type a non existent subdomain, say D.foo.com, it redirects to A.foo.com. Any idea why that is or how I can change that? I think we may have set up the A.foo.com site before we applied the wildcard A-record with our domain provider and before we had set up the SSL cert. Edit: Every time, I restart the app ión the device, the check for testValue is Nil and I am building up the dictionary again but after one run it should be persistent on the Phone, right? Am I doing something wrong somewhere in between? I have the feeling that I yet didn't really understand how to load and save settings persistent for a certain application on the iPhone. Is there anything I have to do additionally to this? Integrating a settings.bundle in XCode or saving the dictionary manually to the Documents folder? Can someone help me out here? Thanks a lot!
