  • Redirect to hash URL

    - by r1987
I'm building a site with a hashchange on wordpress, all working good. It just loads a single.php template file into a div. The problem is that i can still access my single url (http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post). Since its not having any head and style tags with it, i don't want people to go over there. Also google has picked up the direct links, because I use the href attribute to load content into the div. So my question is: If someone clicks a link lets say in a forum, http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post , is it possible to redirect him instantly to http://www.mydomain.com/#my-single-post ? I have researched that it has something to do with .htaccess, but I also have Pages, where i don't want the hash infront of the page-name.

  • How to I sniff this from iTunes?

    - by Alex
If you have used Firebug, you know that you can see the "AJAX" requests back and forth. And you can see the headers sent. I would like the same thing. Except, I would like to sniff iTunes. I want to know the REST API that iTunes uses to talk to the cloud. As well as the user-agent and headers sent.

  • Using Twitter to accept messages for a web app

    - by Jon
I'd like my web app to be able to accept direct messages via twitter. My app won't be sending our any spam, in fact it won't send out any messages at all. It will essentially be a bot controlled account as I would only access the account via an API to check for direct messages. Is this kind of usage permitted within twitter's t & c? Thanks.

  • EXT-js PropertyGrid best practices to achieve an update ?

    - by Tom
Hello, I am using EXT-js for a project, usually everything is pretty straight forward with EXT-js, but with the propertyGrid, I am not sure. I'd like some advice about this piece of code. First the store to populate the property grid, on the load event: var configStore = new Ext.data.JsonStore({ // store config autoLoad:true, url: url.remote, baseParams : {xaction : 'read'}, storeId: 'configStore', // reader config idProperty: 'id_config', root: 'config', totalProperty: 'totalcount', fields: [{ name: 'id_config' }, { name: 'email_admin' } , { name: 'default_from_addr' } , { name: 'default_from_name' } , { name: 'default_smtp' } ],listeners: { load: { fn: function(store, records, options){ // get the property grid component var propGrid = Ext.getCmp('propGrid'); // make sure the property grid exists if (propGrid) { // populate the property grid with store data propGrid.setSource(store.getAt(0).data); } } } } }); here is the propertyGrid: var propsGrid = new Ext.grid.PropertyGrid({ renderTo: 'prop-grid', id: 'propGrid', width: 462, autoHeight: true, propertyNames: { tested: 'QA', borderWidth: 'Border Width' }, viewConfig : { forceFit: true, scrollOffset: 2 // the grid will never have scrollbars } }); So far so good, but with the next button, I'll trigger an old school update, and my question : Is that the proper way to update this component ? Or is it better to user an editor ? or something else... for regular grid I use the store methods to do the update, delete,etc... The examples are really scarce on this one! Even in books about ext-js! new Ext.Button({ renderTo: 'button-container', text: 'Update', handler: function(){ var grid = Ext.getCmp("propGrid"); var source = grid.getSource(); var jsonDataStr = null; jsonDataStr = Ext.encode(source); var requestCg = { url : url.update, method : 'post', params : { config : jsonDataStr , xaction : 'update' }, timeout : 120000, callback : function(options, success, response) { alert(success + "\t" + response); } }; Ext.Ajax.request(requestCg); } }); and thanks for reading.

  • CKEditor inside jQuery Dialog, how do I build it?

    - by Ben Dauphinee
    So, I'm working with CKEditor and jQuery, trying to build a pop-out editor. Below is what I have coded so far, and I can't seem to get it working the way I want it to. Basically, click the 'Edit' link, dialog box pops up, with the content to edit loaded into the CKEditor. Also, not required, but helpful if you can suggest how to do it. I can't seem to find out how to make the save button work in CKEditor (though I think the form will do it). Thanks in advance for any help. $(document).ready(function(){ var config = new Array(); config.height = "350px"; config.resize_enabled = false; config.tabSpaces = 4; config.toolbarCanCollapse = false; config.width = "700px"; config.toolbar_Full = [["Save","-","Cut","Copy","Paste","-","Undo","Redo","-","Bold","Italic", "-", "NumberedList","BulletedList","-","Link","Unlink","-","Image","Table"]]; $("a.opener").click(function(){ var editid = $(this).attr("href"); var editwin = \'<form><div id="header"><input type="text"></div><div id="content"><textarea id="content"></textarea></div></form>\'; var $dialog = $("<div>"+editwin+"</div>").dialog({ autoOpen: false, title: "Editor", height: 360, width: 710, buttons: { "Ok": function(){ var data = $(this).val(); } } }); //$(this).dialog("close"); $.getJSON("ajax/" + editid, function(data){ alert("datagrab"); $dialog.("textarea#content").html(data.content).ckeditor(config); alert("winset"); $dialog.dialog("open"); }); return false; }); });

  • Empty responseText from XMLHttpRequest

    - by PurplePilot
I have written an XMLHttpRequest which runs fine but returns an empty responseText. The javascript is as follows: var anUrl = "http://api.xxx.com/rates/csv/rates.txt"; var myRequest = new XMLHttpRequest(); callAjax(anUrl); function callAjax(url) { myRequest.open("GET", url, true); myRequest.onreadystatechange = responseAjax; myRequest.setRequestHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache"); myRequest.send(null); } function responseAjax() { if(myRequest.readyState == 4) { if(myRequest.status == 200) { result = myRequest.responseText; alert(result); alert("we made it"); } else { alert( " An error has occurred: " + myRequest.statusText); } } } The code runs fine. I can walk through and I get the readyState == 4 and a status == 200 but the responseText is always blank. I am getting a log error (in Safari debug) of Error dispatching: getProperties which I cannot seem to find reference to. I have run the code in Safari and Firefox both locally and on a remote server. The URL when put into a browser will return the string and give a status code of 200. I wrote similar code to the same URL in a Mac Widget which runs fine, but the same code in a browser never returns a result.

  • Getting "The WebResource.axd handler must be registered in the configuration to process this request

    - by rwponu
I'm getting this error while running my ASP.NET app on IIS7. I've tried doing what it says to do but it doesn't help. The WebResource.axd handler must be registered in the configuration to process this request. > <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> > > <configuration> > <system.web> > <httpHandlers> > <add path="WebResource.axd" verb="GET" type="System.Web.Handlers.AssemblyResourceLoader" validate="True" /> > </httpHandlers> > </system.web> > </configuration> I'm using a little bit of AJAX which is what I think is causing the issue. Has anyone encountered this before?

  • Webservice Connection Refused

    - by sidcom
I have developed a web app using a webservice. Everything works fine in the development environment. I have moved the webservice to the production server in a test folder behind my main website. I can browse to the published service localy on the production server and i can access the remote service from my development machine. If I run my web app in my development environment I can use the remote webservice no problem. • Problem with textbox inside updatepanel - not causing OnTextChanged event

    - by DaDa
    I have the following situation: I have a textbox inside an ajax updatepanel. Wherever the user types in the textbox I must display a message (different message that depends on the user typed data). <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server" UpdateMode="Always"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:TextBox ID="txtMyTexbox" runat="server" Width="500px" OnTextChanged="txtMyTexbox_TextChanged" AutoPostBack="true"></asp:TextBox> <br /> <asp:Label ID="lblMessage" runat="server" CssClass="errorMessage" Visible="false">Hello World</asp:Label> </ContentTemplate> <Triggers> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="txtMyTexbox" /> </Triggers> </asp:UpdatePanel> In server side I have written the following at page load ScriptManager.GetCurrent(this).RegisterAsyncPostBackControl(txtMyTexbox); and the method like this protected void txtMyTexbox_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (.....) { lblMessage.Visible = false; } else { lblMessage.Visible = true; } } My problem now is that: when the user types in the textbox it doesn't cause OnTextChanged event. Am I missing something?

  • prototype.js equivalent to jquery ajaxSettings cache = true addthis plugin

    - by openstepmedia
I need help from a prototype.js expert: I'm trying to achieve the following (taken from the addthis forum), and port the solution from jquery to prototype.js (I'm using magento). Original post is here: http://www.addthis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22217 For the getScript() function, I can create a custom function to load the remote js, however I'm trying to load the js file via the prototype ajax call, and trying to avoid having the script cached in the browser. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#changeURL").click(function() { $(".addthis_button").attr("addthis:url","http://www.example.com"); window.addthis.ost = 0; window.addthis.ready(); }); }); // prevent jQuery from appending cache busting string to the end of the URL var cache = jQuery.ajaxSettings.cache; jQuery.ajaxSettings.cache = true; jQuery.getScript('http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js'); // Restore jQuery caching setting jQuery.ajaxSettings.cache = cache; </script> <p id="changeURL">Change URL</p> <a class="addthis_button" addthis:url="http://www.google.com"></a> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=rahf"></script>

  • ASP.NET Update Panel with CheckBox - Not Working Properly

    - by rwponu
    I'm working on a simple demo project so that I can learn some things about ASP.NET's AJAX capabilities. My problem is that I can't seem to get an UpdatePanel to work properly with a CheckBox inside of it. Here is the markup I'm using in my .aspx file: <asp:ScriptManager ID="SM1" runat="server" /> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional"> <ContentTemplate> <tr> <td><asp:CheckBox ID="chkPaypal" runat="server" Text="Paypal" OnCheckedChanged="PayPal_CheckedChanged" AutoPostBack="true" /></td> </tr> <asp:Panel ID="pnlPayPal" runat="server" Visible="false"> <tr> <td>&nbsp;&nbsp;<asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblPaypalEmail" Text="Email:" /></td> <td><asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="tbPaypalEmail" Text="" Width="250px" /></td> </tr> <tr><td>&nbsp;</td></tr> </asp:Panel> </ContentTemplate> <Triggers> <asp:ASyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="chkPayPal" /> </Triggers> </asp:UpdatePanel> In my code behind, I'm simply saying: protected void PayPal_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { pnlPayPal.Visible = true; } Instead of making the panel visible as I anticipate, it is adding another "PayPal" checkbox at the top of the page. Any ideas?

  • Paperclip and xhr.sendAsBinary

    - by Denis
    Hi, I use paperclip to add a file to my model. I want to use the new feature of firefox 3.6, xhr.sendAsBinary, to send a file with an ajax request. Here is how I build my request : var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest(); xhr.open("POST", "/photos?authenticity_token=" + token + "&photo[name]=" + img.name + "&photo[size]=" + img.size); xhr.overrideMimeType('text/plain; charset=x-user-defined-binary'); xhr.sendAsBinary(bin); name and size are saved in my model without problem but the file itself is not catched by paperclip. my model class Photo < ActiveRecord::Base has_attached_file :photo, :styles => { :medium => "300x300>", :thumb => "100x100>" } end the migration def self.up add_column :photos, :photo_file_name, :string add_column :photos, :photo_content_type, :string add_column :photos, :photo_file_size, :integer add_column :photos, :photo_updated_at, :datetime end and my controller # POST /photos # POST /photos.xml def create @photo = Photo.new(params[:photo]) respond_to do |format| if @photo.save format.html { redirect_to(@photo, :notice => 'Photo was successfully created.') } format.xml { render :xml => @photo, :status => :created, :location => @photo } else format.html { render :action => "new" } format.xml { render :xml => @photo.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end Any idea how to solve this issue? Thanks

  • stoping doGet/dopost in java servlets ?

    - by bosso
Hello everyone, I've been playing with Java Servlets and Ajax a bit, and I've got a situation on which I would really appreciate advice. Let's say I have HTML page with a start and stop buttons, and as a result of clicking start button, overridden doGet (or doPost) method on a servlet is invoked which computes something that takes a long time to complete. (e.g. a giant loop, or even Infinite loop, doesn't matter, I'm interested in concepts here). So, I'm asking you: 1.What would be my options to kill / shut down / halt / exit doGet method whan I hit stop button on a web page? Do I use threading here, or there is simpler way? I take it that using System exit is not a very good idea, right? ;) 2.So, let's say I implement code for stopping doGet method. What would happen If I hit start on one browser(e.g.IE), and while this long computation takes place open new tab or other browser(e.g.Firefox) and open same url and hit stop? Would that stop my original computation? Is there any easy way to avoid this? I know that questions are a bit off, as I'm just starting with server-side of things. :) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Seperating Javascript and Html, when dynamically adding html via javascript

    - by optician
I am currently building a very dynamic table for a list application, which will basically perform basic CRUD functions via AJAX. What I would like to do is separate the visual design and javascript to the point where I can change the design side without touching the JS side. This would only work where the design stays roughly the same(i would like to use it for rapid protyping) Here is an example. <table> <tr><td>record-123</td><td>I am line 123</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-124</td><td>I am line 124</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-125</td><td>I am line 125</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>add new record</td></tr> </table> Now, when I add a new record, I would like to insert a new row of html, but I would rather not put this html into the javascript file. What I am considering is creating a row like this on the page, near the table. <tr style='visble:none;' id='template-row'><td>record-id</td><td>content-area</td><td>delete row</td></tr> And when I come to add the new row, I search the page for the tags with the id=template-row , and then grab it, do a string replace on it, and then put it in the right place in the page. As long as the design doesn't shift radically, and I keep the placeholder strings the same, it means designs can be quickly modified without touching the js. Can any give any advice on a methodology like this?

  • General Web Programming/designing Question: ?

    - by Prasad
hi, I have been in web programming for 2 years (Self taught - a biology researcher by profession). I designed a small wiki with needed functionalities and a scientific RTE - ofcourse lot is expected. I used mootools framework and AJAX extensively. I was always curious when ever I saw the query strings passed from URL. Long encrypted query string directly getting passed to the server. Especially Google's design is such. I think this is the start of providing a Web Service to a client - I guess. Now, my question is : is this a special, highly professional, efficient / advanced web design technique to communicate queries via the URL ? I always felt that direct URL based communication is faster. I tried my bit and could send a query through the URL directly. here is the link: http://sgwiki.sdsc.edu/getSGMPage.php?8 By this , the client can directly link to the desired page instead of searching and / or can automate. There are many possibilities. The next request: Can I be pointed to such technique of web programming? oops: I am sorry, If I have not been able to convey my request clearly. Prasad.

  • Update CGridView when a dropdown value changes

    - by Gautam Borad
I have a CGridView with columns from a table "product" => {'product_id','category_id',...} I have another table "category" => {'category_id','category_name'} category_id is the FK in the product table. Now i want a dropdown list of the category table and on selecting a particular value the CGridView of product should be updated to show only the rows with that category_id. I also need the column filtering/sorting for the CGridView to work (using AJAX). I was able to refresh the CGridView when a value is selected from the dropdown, however i am not able to send the category_id with the 'data' for the CGridView: clientScript-registerScript('search', " $('.cat_dropdown').change(function(){ $.fn.yiiGridView.update('order-grid', { data: $(this).serialize(), }); return false; }); "); The data: $(this).serialize() sends only the values that are present in the filtering text fields of the CGridView. How do i append the category_id with it? If the above method is not the right one, please suggest an alternative method.

  • Jquery and XML - How to add the value of nodes

    - by Matias
Hi Experts, This may be a simple question though can´t figure out how to do it. I am parsing an XML with Jquery Ajax. It contains dates and rates The XML looks something like <rate> <date>Today</date> <price>66</price> </rate> <rate> <date>Tomorrow</date> <price>99</price> </rate> I simply want to figure out how to calculate the total price of both days Today and Tomorrow. Thought that by using Javascript Number it will simply return the total value of the nodes.. $(xml).find("rate").each(function() { $(this).find("price").each(function() { $("#TOTALPRICE").append(Number($(this).text())); } } //output is: 6699 However, it´s just concatenating the values both not adding them. //output is: 6699 I greatly appreciate your help !! Thanks

  • ASP.NET Membership API not working on Win2008 server/IIS7

    - by Program.X
I have a very odd problem. I have a web app that uses the .NET Membership API to provide login functionality. This works fine on my local dev machine, using WebDev 4.0 server. I'm using .NET 4.0 with some URL Rewriting, but not on the pages where login is required. I have a Windows Server 2008 with IIS7 However, the Membership API seemingly does not work on the server. I have set up remote debugging and the LoginUser.LoggedIn event of the LoginUser control gets fired okay, but the MembershipUser is null. I get no answer about the username/password being invalid so it seems to be recognising it. If I enter an invalid username/password, I get an invalid username/password response. One test webserver, with the following applications service.ganymedes.com:8008 - WCF RESTful service, basically the FormsAuth sample from WCF Starter Kit Preview 2 mvc.ganymedes.com:8008 - ASP.NET MVC 2.0 application web.config for service.ganymedes.com: <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms loginUrl="~/login.aspx" timeout="2880" domain="ganymedes.com" name="GANYMEDES_COOKIE" path="/" /> </authentication> web.config for mvc.ganymedes.com: <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms loginUrl="~/Account/LogOn" timeout="2880" domain="ganymedes.com" name="GANYMEDES_COOKIE" path="/" /> </authentication> Trying my darndest, a GET (or POST for that matter) via jQuery's $.ajax or getJson does not send my cookie (according to Firebug), so I get HTTP 302 returned from the WCF service: Request Headers Host service.ganymedes.com:8008 User-Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100202 Firefox/3.5.8 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Accept application/json, text/javascript, */* Accept-Language en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding gzip, deflate Accept-Charset ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive 300 Connection keep-alive Referer http://mvc.ganymedes.com:8008/Test Origin http://mvc.ganymedes.com:8008 It's sent when mucking about on the MVC site though: Request Headers Host mvc.ganymedes.com:8008 User-Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100202 Firefox/3.5.8 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Accept text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding gzip, deflate Accept-Charset ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive 300 Connection keep-alive Referer http://mvc.ganymedes.com:8008/Test Cookie GANYMEDES_COOKIE=0106A4A666C8C615FBFA9811E9A6C5219C277D625C04E54122D881A601CD0E00C10AF481CB21FAED544FAF4E9B50C59CDE2385644BBF01DDD4F211FE7EE8FAC2; GANYMEDES_COOKIE=D6569887B7C5B67EFE09079DD59A07A98311D7879817C382D79947AE62B5508008C2B2D2112DCFCE5B8D4C61D45A109E61BBA637FD30315C2D8353E8DDFD4309 I also put the exact same settings in both applications' web.config files (self-generated validationKey and decryptionKey).

  • Please help! request compression

    - by Naor
Hi, I wrote an IHttpModule that compress my respone using gzip (I return a lot of data) in order to reduce response size. It is working great as long as the web service doesn't throws an exception. In case exception is thrown, the exception gzipped but the Content-encoding header is disappear and the client doesn't know to read the exception. How can I solve this? Why the header is missing? I need to get the exception in the client. Here is the module: public class JsonCompressionModule : IHttpModule { public JsonCompressionModule() { } public void Dispose() { } public void Init(HttpApplication app) { app.BeginRequest += new EventHandler(Compress); } private void Compress(object sender, EventArgs e) { HttpApplication app = (HttpApplication)sender; HttpRequest request = app.Request; HttpResponse response = app.Response; try { //Ajax Web Service request is always starts with application/json if (request.ContentType.ToLower(CultureInfo.InvariantCulture).StartsWith("application/json")) { //User may be using an older version of IE which does not support compression, so skip those if (!((request.Browser.IsBrowser("IE")) && (request.Browser.MajorVersion <= 6))) { string acceptEncoding = request.Headers["Accept-Encoding"]; if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(acceptEncoding)) { acceptEncoding = acceptEncoding.ToLower(CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); if (acceptEncoding.Contains("gzip")) { response.AddHeader("Content-encoding", "gzip"); response.Filter = new GZipStream(response.Filter, CompressionMode.Compress); } else if (acceptEncoding.Contains("deflate")) { response.AddHeader("Content-encoding", "deflate"); response.Filter = new DeflateStream(response.Filter, CompressionMode.Compress); } } } } } catch (Exception ex) { int i = 4; } } } Here is the web service: [WebMethod] public void DoSomething() { throw new Exception("This message get currupted on the client because the client doesn't know it gzipped."); } I appriciate any help. Thanks!

  • Confused as to which Prototype helper to use

    - by user284194
After reading http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActionView/Helpers/PrototypeHelper.html I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I have a simplistic model that deletes the oldest message after the list of messages reaches 24, the model is this simple: class Message < ActiveRecord::Base after_create :destroy_old_messages protected def destroy_old_messages messages = Message.all(:order => 'updated_at DESC') messages[24..-1].each {|p| p.destroy } if messages.size >= 24 end end There is a message form below the list of messages which is used to add new messages. I'm using Prototype/RJS to add new messages to the top of the list. create.rjs: page.insert_html :top, :messages, :partial => @message page[@message].visual_effect :grow #page[dom_id(@messages)].replace :partial => @message page[:message_form].reset My index.html.erb is very simple: <div id="messages"> <%= render :partial => @messages %> </div> <%= render :partial => "message_form" %> When new messages are added they appear just fine, but when the 24 message limit has been reached it just keeps adding messages and doesn't remove the old ones. Ideally I'd like them to fade out as the new ones are added, but they can just disappear. The commented line in create.rjs actually works, it removes the expired message but I lose the visual effect when adding a new message. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to accomplish adding and removing messages from this simple list with effects for both? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading. P.S.: would periodically_call_remote be helpful in this situation?

  • events not firing in VisualForce

    - by Ben
In the page below,Topic__c is a single-select picklist. My intention is to have this list control which of the input fields is available below. The user selects an option, and the onchange event should fire, and rerender the fields. <apex:inputField value="{!Call_Report__c.Topic__c}" id="topic" > <apex:actionSupport event="onchange" reRender="tickerInput, sectorInput, bondInput"> <apex:param name="topicSelection" value="{!Call_Report__c.Topic__c}" /> </apex:actionSupport> </apex:inputField> <apex:inputField value="{!Call_Report__c.Tickers__c}" rendered="{!Call_Report__c.Topic__c='Issuer'}" id="tickerInput" /> <apex:inputField value="{!Call_Report__c.Sector__c}" rendered="{!Call_Report__c.Topic__c='Industry'}" id="sectorInput"/> <apex:inputField value="{!Call_Report__c.Security__c}" rendered="{!Call_Report__c.Topic__c='Specific Bond'}" id="bondInput" /> Am I doing something obviously wrong here? http://community.salesforce.com/t5/Visualforce-Development/Multi-select-picklist-not-firing-event-for-AJAX-refreshes/m-p/173572/highlight/false#M22119 seems to imply that what I am doing is reasonable...
