  • Why the compiler is not compiling a line in C++ Builder?

    Hi boys: I was programming an application in C++ Builder 6, and I had encountered this rare problem: void RotateDice() { Graphics::TBitmap *MYbitmap = new Graphics::TBitmap(); Randomize(); int rn = random(6) + 1; switch (rn) { case 1: { //... break; } //... Some cases... } ShowDice(); //it's a function to show the dice delete MYbitmap; //the compiler don't get it!!!! } In the line "ShowDice()", the compiler jumps to the final of the RotateDice() method, it doesn't "see" the line "delete MYbitmap". When I compile the program, every compiled line shows a little blue point in its left side, but that line don't show the blue point... it's like the compiler don't "see" the line of code. What's happening with that???? Note: Some days ago, I was writing a program in Delphi and I was advice of that problematic issue. Some like that happened to me in Delphi 7... So, waht the problem with that? I am so sorry about my English. I am from Cuba.

However my OS file system has a limit on the number of sub directories, meaning storing the original folder structure is not going to work. Suggestions? Map the URL to some filename so can store flatly? Or just shove it in a database like sqlite to avoid file system limitations?

    I have two queries that I have to run, I cannon join them But their resultant tables have the same structrure. For example I have select * from products where producttype=magazine select * from products where producttype = book I have to combine the result of these two queries, and then output it as one single result. I have to do this inside a stored procedure. PS These are just examples I provided, i have a complex table structure. The main thing is I cannot join them.

  • wxPython: MainLoop() seems to hang

    Hi all, my problem stems from the use of wxApp as far as I can tell. Inside a litte subroutine I call a wx.MessageDialog to ask for a yes or no. I retrieve the answer an process some stuff acordingly. My example code below actually works (though it might be ugly) except that the Dialog box stays open after hitting one of the buttons... import wx from os import path def HasFile(filename): if path.isfile(filename ): app = wx.App() dial = wx.MessageDialog(None, 'Die Datei "'+filename+'" wurde gefunden.\nSoll sie eingelesen werden?', 'Bitte antworten', wx.YES_NO | wx.YES_DEFAULT | wx.ICON_QUESTION) result = dial.ShowModal() dial.EndModal(retCode=0) dial.Destroy() app.MainLoop() return result == wx.ID_YES else: return False So while the rest of the program does whatever is expected, the box just sits there. It also seems like my calls to matplotlib later on are producing errors (a Tkinter error to be precise), maybe because of the wx stuff? Edit: I tried to end the app with a call to app.Destroy(). This doesn't change the fact that the box is still there. When I issue a app.IsActive() afterwards the whole program exits (almost like a sys.exit())! How come? Edit 2: Adding a wxApp like this isn't a good idea since the other scripts get affected as well. Subsequent plotting commands don't get displayed and I don't know how to fix this. Thus I decided to remove the DialogBox alltogether.

    I'm fairly new to OOP in PHP, I've made a couple of basic scripts but nothing impressive. All I've really taken from it is that it would probably be easier just make a collection of functions and include them. The structure of classes seems to just confuse what was otherwise a simple process. And in collating everything into a class it doesn't really add any functionality. So I'm clearly missing something. Could someone explain what functionality is added by creating classes

  • Smart way to execute function in flash from an imported html (or XML) plain text

    Ok, here is the think. I have a very simple flash program code in AS3, inside this program there is a dynamic textfield html capable. Also i have a database were i will put some information. Each element in the database can be linked to other. For example, this database will contain tourist spots, and they can be related with others in the same database. Ramdom place 1 This interesting spot is near <link to="ramdo2">ramdom place2</link>. And so, so so... The information in the database is retrived by the flash application and it shows the text on the dynamic textfield. I need somehow to tell my flash application that have to be a link to other part of the database, so when the user click the link a function in flash call this new data. The database is a simple Mysql server, and the data is not yet in there, waiting for your suggestions of how to format it and develop the solution. Im a php developer too, so i can make a gateway in PHP to read the MySQL and then retrive some format to flash, an XML for example.

    Im just wondering how i use xmlencoder to serialize ArrayList where foo is my own made class. Do i have to do anything in particular, ie define my own xml structure first and then call toString on each value in my list and write it out? Can anyone point me to a good tutorial? http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/persistence4/ Thats what i have been looking at but it doesnt seem to mention what to do with non library classes.   • Acessing a wordpress database from an iPhone App.

    Hi guys, I've been asked to create an app that will get data back from a database where the CMS will be Wordpress. I've never used a CMS so I'm trying to get a (overview)picture in my head of how it could all work and what each of the components would be. And what a CMS actually brings to the party. Creating the app itself is pretty clear. I've done a few already. I've made a database before and shouldnt cause a problem. But what is going to be in the middle between the app and the database? Part A: I'm guessing iphone apps typically would call some php file that's hosted on the server? The php then would make a call to the database and return the data somehow, maybe as xml. But this is really basic and wouldnt require a CMS. Just a database and a phpfile, or am I wrong? Part B: If i wanted to run a check on the database every minute to see if any of the data in database was no longer valid and remove it if needed, that would require somekind of program running on the server. So that program would be Wordpress, since it is managing the content, so a content management system is actually needed and is for these kind of taskes. Am i understanding the role of CMS?   • Disabling Remote-Debugging Connection on Windows 2000

    I have two machines one running Win 2000 and one running Win XP both with VSC++ 6. I created an application on the Win XP machine (local) and sucessfuly used the Win2000 machine (remote) as the target for debugging. The code was in a shared drive on the Win2000 machine. This setup worked well, just like in the movies! However, I now wish to use my Win2000 machine as a develpment machine again and I find I can not. When attempting to execute a natively compiled application on this machine, I get a dialog with the title of "Remote Execution Path And Filename" asking me for same. When dialog is cancelled as the program that is attemptng to execute is not remote, the program terminates without error. Extra info! On the WinXP machine, VSC++, under the Build menu-Debugger Remote Connection-Remote Connection Dialog-the "Connection:" list box has two entries 'Local' and 'Network', on the Win2000 machine the 'Local' entry is not present, only the entry for 'Network'. How do I get back my 'Local' entry on what used to be my target machine?
