• Add file in ANT build (Tomcat server)

  Hey everyone, I have an ANT build that I need to setup so on deployment of the .war a certain file will be placed in a specific location.   Hi, I'm trying to use QtXmlQuery to extract some data from XML. I'd like to put this into a QStringList. This means that it can often be more space-efficient to have properties such as 't', or 'b' rather than 'title' or 'body', however for fear of confusion I would avoid this unless truly required! I am aware of solutions of how to do it I am more intrested in when is it truly required?

  I've got a very simple project in FlashBuilder 4.5. It's a mobile application of type ViewNavigatorApplication with a single view, MapView. In this class, I'm attempting to get a reference to this map component. So far, I can get a reference to the top-level application, its ViewNavigator and the NavigationStack of said ViewNavigator. However, I cannot find a way to access the MapView, much less the map I've declared within it. I'm aware of methods like firstView() and activeView(), but I want an absolute solution, one that retrieves the view regardless of whether or not it's first or active. I've tried navigator.getChildByName("MapView") with no luck.

• R problems using rpart with 4000 records and 13 attributes

  I have attempted to email the author of this package without success, just wondering if anybody else has experienced this. I am having an using rpart on 4000 rows of data with 13 attributes. I can run the same test on 300 rows of the same data with no issue. When I run on 4000 rows, Rgui.exe runs consistently at 50% cpu and the UI hangs.... it will stay like this for at least 4-5hours if I let it run, and never exit or become responsive. here is the code I am using both on the 300 and 4000 size subset : train<-read.csv("input.csv",header=T) y<-train[,18] x<-train[,3:17] library(rpart) fit<-rpart(y~.,x) Is this a known limitation of rpart, am I doing something wrong? potential workarounds? any assistance appreciated

• C#: HTTPWebResponse using application/x-www-form-urlencoded

  So I sent an HTTPWebRequest using application/x-www-form-urlencoded as my content type. I assume that this means the reponse will be returned in a similar type? (EDIT: Have now been told this isn't the case) My question is this. How do I access the different key/value pairs returned in the response. My code so far looks like this. I can of course read the string but surely there is a better way to access the data other than ripping the string apart.   I have a file: <xml> <component>something <system>somethingDeeper <value>somethingDeepest</value> </system> </component> <component>somethinfDifferent <value>somethingDifferentDeeper</value> </component> <value>somethingNew</value> </xml> So i want to distinguish what is inside another tag (ex. <system>) what is not. How to do this with NSXMLParser ? I currently use BOOL ivar's but this is a lot of tags and this is not as elegant as i want it to be. I know that NSXMLParser is a SAX parser and i understand that. In above example I will be enter to didEndElement method three times with: elementName equal value Is there a more elegant way to distinguish what entry was from <component> tag above what not?

• [FLEX] Images won't dynamically refresh

  I am writing a Flex application to receive xml from an httpservice. That works because I can populate a datagrid with the information. The xml sends image pathnames. A combobox sends a new HttpService call onChange. This repopulates the datagrid and puts new images in the folder that flex is accessing. I want to dynamically change the image without changing the pathname of the image. <mx:Canvas id="borderCanvas"><mx:Canvas id="dropCanvas"> <mx:Tile id="adTile"><mx:Image></mx:Image> </mx:Tile></mx:Canvas></mx:Canvas> This is my component. I assign my Image sources using this code: var i:Number = 0; while ( i <= dg_conads.rowCount){ var img:Image = new Image(); img.source = null; img.source = imageSource+i+".jpg"; adTile.addChild(img); i++; } My biggest problem is that the images are not refreshing. I get the same image even though I've prevented caching from the HTML wrapper and the ASP.Net website. The image automatically loads in the folder and refreshes in the folder but I can't get the image to refresh in the application. I've tried removeAllChildren(); delete(adTile.getChildAt(0)); and neither worked.

  I am working through an older php mysql book written in 2003. The author uses the include() function to construct html pages by including header.inc, footer.inc, main.inc files, etc. Now I find out that this is not allowed in the default ini settings, (allow_url_include is set to Off) after I got many warnings from the server. I noticed also that you can use include without the parenthesis. I tried this and it works and I get no error messages or warnings. Are the two different? That is, is include() different from include ?

  I have an option to choose between local based data storing (xml file) or SQL Server based. I already created a long time ago a typed dataset for my application to save data local in the xml file. Now, I have a bool that changes between Server based version and local version. If true my application get the data from the SQL Server. I'm not sure but It seems that Sql Adapter's Fill Method can't fill the Data in my existing schema SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("Select * FROM dbo.Categories WHERE CatUserId = 1", _connection); cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; _sqlAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter(cmd); _sqlAdapter.TableMappings.Add("Categories", "dbo.Categories"); _sqlAdapter.Fill(Program.Dataset); This should fill my data from dbo.Categories to Categories (in my local, typed dataset). but it doesn't. It creates a new table with the name "Table". It looks like it can't handle the existing schema. I can't figure it out. Where is the problem? btw. of course the database request I do isn't very useful that way. It's just a simplified version for testing...

• several jquery ui theme switcher problems (cookie, different themes for different pages, etc.)

  I just try putting the jquery-ui theme switcher on my website. Seems that there are some problems: Cookie does not work. When I close the browser and reopen the webpage, the default theme will load instead of the one selected before. The selected theme is valid for current page only. If jumping to another page, it will load the default. I want to select once and apply to all pages. There is a flash of the default theme before the selected theme get loaded. Anyone know an easy way deal with these problems? I know I can implement my own cookie solution based on that theme switcher, but I was so surprised that the author did not provide options to do these.

  Hi, Assume i have a book entity with an isbn field. When entered a isbn number, i want 2 fields to be updated: title and author. My controller looks like this: def ajaxGetBook = { def book = Book.findByIsbn(params.isbn) if(book==null) book = new Book() render book as JSON } So my call works, and i get a full JSON Book. Now i would like to update 2 texfields by the update attribute <g:remoteField action="ajaxGetBook" update="title" name="isbn" value="${bookInstance?.book?.isbn}" paramName="isbn"/> Now the title field gets updated with the full book object, so that doesn't work. Is it possible to update field title with only the JSON book.title? Is it possible to update more fields at once? I could render book.title as JSON but that works for only one field. Thank you

  Hi. This has been bugging me for days, i'm trying to send a SOAP post via curl but i just keep getting a 'couldn't connect to host' error but i really cant see how. I have an asp version which works fine with the same url and data, i think it's just a php/curl thing...? • Behavior of Struts2 and convention-plugin when there is Index(extends ActionSupport)

  We have an Action class named 'Index' immediately under com.example.common.action and is annotated @ParentPackage('default') which is declared in package directive in struts.xml and has "/" for its namespace and extends "struts-default". It also declares @Result so that it responses with jsp files corresponding the string values returned by its execute() method. In our struts.xml, the following struts setting is configured along with other necessary configurations that are needed for convention-plugin. <constant name="struts.action.extension" value=","/> When accessing /my_context/none_existing_path, the request apparently hits this Index class and the contents of the jsp declared in the Index's @Result section gets returned. However, if we provide /my_context/, we receive the following error: HTTP Status 404-There is no Action mapped for namespace[/] and action name [] associated with context path [/my_context]. We want to know the reason why accessing /my_context/none_existing_path, where none_existing_path has no matching action, can fallback to Index class, but error is returned when when the URL requested is just /my_context/. Currently, our convention-plugin settings are declared as follows: <constant name="struts.convention.package.locators.basePackage" value="com.example"/> <constant name="struts.convention.package.locators" value="action"/> Strangely, if we changed the value of the struts.convention.package.locators.basePackage to om.example.common, in which the aforementioned Index file can be immediately found by narrowing the search scope, requesting /my_context/ displays the content of the jsps declared in @Result section of the Index class. However, as our action classes are distributed throughout the com.example.[a-z].action packages, where [a-z] represents the large volume of directories we have in our package structure, we cannot use this trick as a workaround. We have also tried placing index.jsp at the top level of the class path, and have the index.jsp redirect to /my_context/index, which worked but not what we want. Could this be a bug? Also, I'd like to sort on the subselect alias -- is this possible? • Should we EVER use dp values for width/height?

  I've come across a project done by some other team which I have to fix. They used dp values for images' width/height. When I tried to adopt the layout for some tablets and/or mobiles, I've faced a lot of troubles. For example, the image of 40x40 dp has top padding of 15dp. When such image is loaded by some new mobile screen, the image is not where is was supposed to be - it's either shifted or distorted or of the wrong size. Now I need to propose a redesign of the whole app and I need some advise from the more experienced community. Should I abandon such layout policy (described abobe) and do like this: make the image with the size of 40x40 px position the image for the mdpi screen set its height/width to wrap_content do like this for other images after I finish layout for mdpi, resize each image for ldpi, hdpi and xhdpi screens in case of a special mobile/tablet, make a special set of images + xml files Is there a way when you would advise to use the explicit size of some images? Do you advise setting the size of images in xml layout or setting size via photoshop or similar graphics tools and then resize images for other screen sizes or screen densities?

• Salesforce/PHP - outbound messages (SOAP) - memory limit issue? DOMDocument::loadXML() issue?

  I'm using Salesforce to send outbound messages (via SOAP) to another server. The server can process about 8 messages at a time, but will not send back the ACK file if the SOAP request contains more than 8 messages. SF can send up to 100 outbound messages in 1 SOAP request and I think this is causing a memory issue with PHP. If I process the outbound messages 1 by 1 they all go through fine, I can even do 8 at a time with no issues. But larger sets are not working. ERROR in SF: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file Looking in the HTTP error logs I see that the incoming SOAP message looks to be getting cut of which throws a PHP warning stating: DOMDocument::loadXML() ... Premature end of data in tag ... PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getAttribute() on a non-object This leads me to believe that PHP is having a memory issue and can not parse the incoming message due to it's size. I was thinking I could just set: ini_set('memory_limit', '64M'); // This has done nothing to fix the problem But would this be the correct approach? Is there a way I could set this to increase with the incoming SOAP request dynamically? • REST design: what verb and resource name to use for a filtering service

  I am developing a cleanup/filtering service that has a method that receives a list of objects serialized in xml, and apply some filtering rules to return a subset of those objects. In a REST-ful service, what verb shall I use for such a method? I thought that GET is a natural choice, but I have to put the serialized XML in the body of the request which works but feels incorrect. The other verbs don't seem to fit semantically. What is a good way to define that Service interface? Naming the resource /Cleanup or /Filter seems weird mainly because in the examples I see online, it is always a name rather than a verb being used for resource name. Am I right to feel that REST services are better suited for CRUD operations and you start bending the rules in situations like this service? If yes, am I then making a wrong architectural choice. I've pushed to develop this service in REST-ful style (as opposed to SOAP) for simplicity, but such awkward cases happen a lot and make me feel like I am missing something. Either choosing REST where it shouldn't be used or may be over-thinking some stuff that doesn't really matter? In that case, what really matters?

• PHP multiple __autoload functions *without* the use of spl_register_autoload?

  I'm an author of a growing library of PHP + QuickBooks related code. I'd like to utilize PHPs __autoload() function, however my code is a library that other people can include() into their own applications, so I can't rely on __autoload() being not already defined. Is there a way to have multiple __autoload() functions? I saw spl_autoload_register() in the PHP manual, but not all of my users have the SPL extension installed, so I can't rely on that. If there was a way to fall-back to using this and use normal require/include statements by default, I might consider that. Does anyone else have any other clever solutions to this issue? It seems like a glaring oversight to only be able to have a single __autoload() function...

• Setting up App Engine to receive email addresses with ids in the address

  I am writing an App Engine app that is supposed to receive emails in this form: [email protected] (someID is an alphanumeric ID that I generate). I have this in my web.xml thinking it would catch emails that start with 'addcontact.': <servlet> <servlet-name>addNewContactServlet</servlet-name> <servlet-class>com.mycompany.server.AddNewContactServlet</servlet- class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>addNewContactServlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/_ah/mail/addcontact.*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> However, both on my dev machine and on google's servers email is not received. On the dev machine I get this message (I get a similar error in the deployed log) Message send failure HTTP ERROR 404 Problem accessing /_ah/mail/ [email protected]. Reason: NOT_FOUND I can receive email at fully specified addresses or when I use /_ah/mail/* The google documentation made me believe it was possible to include partial email addresses in web.xml. Am I not using the wildcard correctly? Does the period have something to do with it? Can this be done somehow?

• Detailstext in TableView from Coredata Iphone

  Hey, that is my first question here at stackoverflow. Let me try to be specific as I can. The project is as follows: I am trying to parse an xml file in an iphone app, which works already. I am saving the parsed data into the CoreData of the Iphone. So far so good: I have two elements of the xml file which I want to show in the tableview as the text and the detailtext. Now the strange behaviour occurs: If I take the data of the Core Data and trying to visualize them in the tableview, then both elements are displayed in seperate cells and not as detailtext of the element. If I am just taking a constant string for the detailtext, then it works, but if I am trying to take for every cell a specific element from the Core Data then it is shown seperately in the tableview. I googled a lot, reading here and there. I dont know which code I should show because I dont have a clue where exactly the mistake could be. Maybe someone can answer that immediately because it is a stupid mistake somewhere, which is common. Thanks for your help.
