    I need to use or stimulate a very simple session object inside my WCF app. I simply need to store some values at the beginning of a call and I need access to these values while I go through some different methods of my service. Asp.NET session would be very ideal to use for this so I need to find out what is available on a WCF app for storing such values.   • Outlook 2003 View Control with C#

    I want to embed a custom c# windows form (or WPF) user control into an outlook view. I am using Outlook 2003 and Visual Studio 2008. I did download an example for Outlook 2007 here: http://blogs.msdn.com/e2eblog/archive/2008/01/09/outlook-folder-homepage-hosting-wpf-activex-and-windows-forms-controls.aspx and also here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479345.aspx I tested it and under 2007 it is working, but for 2003 i am getting the following error when i want to open the view: Could not complete the operation due to error 80131509 I can start it from Visual Studio, it is registering the folder just fine, debugging works and all that. It creates an HTML page that contains my type as an object parameter - but the Initialize method that should be called is either not present (not shown via JS) or it has some errors. The breakpoints for RegisterSafeForScripting are also never hit - maybe related to that. Thx in advance!

    I'm using the WSDL object model (WOM) along with XSOM for a project of mine. The WOM gives me a way to drill down and look at messages and the message types which are element declarations. However, I am unable to find a way to parse the simple and complex types. The APIs are tricky. There seems to be some kind of a connection between WOM and XSOM. I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me how I can parse the simple and the complex types in my .wsdl file.

    Some time ago (~4-5months ago) I attented a lecture about JEE and at some point the lecturer started talking about webservices and how hard it is to create a good one because all the IDEs make them in a bit different way (or something like that) and that in general it's better to use Netbeans to create them as Eclipse has some issues, the thing is he didn't really say why Eclipse is bad. Now I'm wondering is what he said true and why, is it really better to use Netbeans for webservices and why?

  • jQuery select change/click problem - change doesn't work in IE, click doesn't work in Chrome

    As the title says, I have a problem with binding to a change in a dropdown select list - it seems that "change" doesn't work with IE(7 or 8), so when I try the alternative and use a "click" event, it works in IE but doesn't work in Chrome! Am I missing something obvious here?     This is a terribly beginner series of questions, but after reading through a good 30 SPARQL tutorials I can't seem to wrap my head around what SPARQL is or how to begin using it. Is it executed on the client side? Is microsoft somehow going to be able to mess this up? Can you use a common relational database (SQL)? Are there particular resources you recommend over others for learning? Do you feel it is premature to begin investing myself in this? Best way to get set up and running to start tinkering? The RDFA examples I have seen are very inspiring. I am currently a big proponent of using microformats but would really like to take it further. I currently develop in PHP, but have only found a Java library.

    i have a scenario where in i need to send an xml as a tag content in a SOAP request message to a webservice for example <arg_1><xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><sometag><somemoretag>abcd</somemoretag></sometag></arg_1></code> arg_1 happens to be an String parameter to a webservice. So i bring in a CDATA section for this <arg_1><![CDATA[<xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><sometag><somemoretag>abcd</somemoretag></sometag>]]></arg_1> But this keeps throwing me an exception org.xml.sax.SAXException: WSWS3084E: Error: SimpleDeserializer encountered a child element, which is NOT expected, in something it was trying to deserialize. Message being parsed: I keep getting this exception. Has anyone seen this before??

Use a JAXWS/JAXB binding customization to rename the parameter. I have tried several variants of the binding customization, and searched Google for hours, but unfortunately I cannot find a solution to my problem. I suspenct that the childElementName attribute is wrong, but I can't find an example of what would have to be set to make it work. Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to enforce this in this browser (possible even that the phone will have it's number mode on when entering the form)? And if I wanted to allow floats, is something possible then?

  • jQuery not loading on Master Page when the Content Page is in a child folder.

    I have a site where I am trying to implement a jQuery UI based MessageBox in my master page. Content pages are arranged accoring to business area folders, i.e. '~/Branding/Contracts.aspx'. I find that when I load such a content page, jQuery, which is referenced in the master page as below, does not load. I assume that this is because the browser is requesting 'Branding/Scripts/jQuery '. What can I do about this?     Faye private pub has issues connecting. It works from rails console and from inside application. It fails when called from background process like delayed_job or sidekiq.   • Viewstate is setting control values incorrectly.

    I have a page with several checkboxes on it. The checkboxes correlate to user permissions so when I change users and the page refreshes, the values of the checkboxes should change since each user is different. In spite of the fact that my code sets the value of the checkbox, viewstate or whatever changes the values to what the previous user's values were. I tried chk.EnableViewState = false; but that did not help. I set EnableViewState="false" EnableViewStateMac="false" EnableEventValidation="false" in the page directives, but that doesn't help. The only way I have been able to fix this is to add a unique value to the controls so that their names are always different. I am sure it's an issue of ignorance. Thank you for your help. There is no databinding per se. When the page loads I am creating the textboxes and setting their values via code.

  • Personal projects competing with employers projects?

    Recently at my place of employment it was discovered that I was developing an outside personal project (personal project being a project I have been working on, in my spare time, for my own purposes, using my personal equipment). My employer has an idea which is very similar to my outside project but has not been started, created, put out to market yet. When I originally started working for the company I signed a non-compete contract. My employer is now saying that because my outside/personal project is similar to theirs that I am now a competitor and breaching my original non-compete agreement. What I would like to know is where do I stand in this situation? Also my personal project has not been fully developed, nor is available to anyone other than myself. So if we both don’t have full/released products (full meaning put out to the public) are we actually competitors? There is going to be a meeting in the coming weeks to discuss this issue and would like to have a proper argument in place. I know some of this conversation is best held with a lawyer but I don’t have the money to do that yet. I’m not looking for full legal advice just anyone who has maybe experienced this or can give any advice. Thanks in advance!

  • TFS Load Testing Web Tests

    I am configuring a load test and am curious/confused on settings. I am testing an intranet website, that is expected to have 6000 concurrent users. My employer had some previous consultant tell them that the load test users does not matter and that we need to worry about requests/second. They have previously determined that those 6000 users would generate 30 rps, while I feel that is not correct we need to show that we can exceed that number. The previous load test was set for only 200 users and the results showed that it did exceed the 200 rps. They were happy with the results, but that is not how I understand this. My question is, if we need to support 6000 concurrent users should I just set my users to 6000 and run, or is the rps an adequate piece of data to rely on? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
