    Hi, I'm building a download manager in python for fun, and sometimes the connection to the server is still on but the server doesn't send me data, so read method (of HTTPResponse) block me forever. This happens, for example, when I download from a server, which located outside of my country, that limit the bandwidth to other countries. How can I set a timeout for the read method (2 minutes for example)? Thanks, Nir.

  • PHP Strange error "0:". Possible Object syntax problem?

    I'm trying to transfer a site from one hosting company to another. I was using 000webhost until the client had hosting and a domain. Now that the client has their domain and hosting, using FatCow.com, I can not for the life of me, debug my PHP code. I'm not getting any errors. I have a successful DB connection. If you procedurally display data, it works, but when I try to use my original objects, something is breaking and just returns "0:". I have all errors on. On old server where the site worked: PHP Version 5.2.11 MySQL Version: 5.0.81 On new server where I get the "0:": PHP Version 5.2.12 MySQL Version 5.0.32 I've setup a test page to test just the output of the variables with the DB connection.     I have a web deployment project that does a web.config section replacement using an external file. (this is to change the connection strings section). The web.config section replacement works fine when built manually, but when built as part of a TFS build the section is not replaced. I cannot find any errors or warnings in the build log. What are the likely causes, or how can I 'debug' this?

    Geo-location has been used most by Websites to do redirection, but I have found that several IP addresses locate a country which has using several languages. Meantime, some users prefer to using the language setup in their system. For example, a person from United States goes to Japan and using the Internet connection from there to surf Website, but the Website redirects him to Japanese language. So, should I give the web user a choice to select the language detected on their browser or force them to the website detected by IP address?

    I am trying to right a Google Cloud Platform app in python with Flask that makes an MQTT connection. I have included the paho python library by doing pip install paho-mqtt -t libs/. However, when I try to run the app, even if I don't try to connect to MQTT. Is this a security issue? Is there someway to disable it?   • Use of bit-torrent for large file download

    The company I work for procures large volumes of data and does this by subscribing to FTP. I was wondering if it is possible to download the same using a tracker, the major challenge is authentication of the users IMO. Most ftp servers we subscribe to have a restriction of the number of ftp connection attempts. Does any one here have any experience with this? Any advice is welcome
