  • UIView's frame, bounds, center, origin, when to use what?

    - by Boon
UIView has the concept of frame, bounds, center, and origin, and they all seem to be interrelated. Most of the time, I deal with frame when setting the position and size of a UIView (or subclass). I understand that the frame is using global coordinate system and the bounds is using coordinate of the local view (therefore it's x and y are 0, but not always), but it's still confusing to me when to use what. Question: Under what context (and what's the right time) the other properties (bounds, center, origin) should be used?

  • How to POST data to ASP.NET HttpHandler?

    - by Ali Kazmi
Hi, I am trying to send a large chunk of data over to a HTTP handler. I can't send it using GET because of the URL length limit so I decided to POST it instead. The problem is that I can't get at the values. context.Request.Form shows that it has 0 items. So is there a way that I can POST data to a HttpHandler?

  • WCF help, how can I expose a service over http, that calls another service over net.tcp?

    - by Hcabnettek
    Hi All, I have a WCF .svc file hosted in IIS. I want to use basicHTTP binding. This services job is to actually call another service over net.tcp. Everything works fine locally, but when I deployed, I'm getting this error. The provided URI scheme 'http' is invalid; expected 'net.tcp'. Parameter name: via Here is the server config <client> <endpoint address="net.tcp://localhost:9300/InternalInterfaceService" binding="netTcpBinding" bindingConfiguration="NetTcpBinding_IInternalInterfaceService" contract="IInternalInterfaceService" name="NetTcpBinding_IInternalInterfaceService"> <identity> <servicePrincipalName value="localhost" /> </identity> </endpoint> </client> <services> <service name="MyExternalService"> <endpoint address="" binding="basicHttpBinding" contract="IMyExternalService" /> </service> </services> And here is the config that svcutil generates <system.serviceModel> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_IMyExternalService" closeTimeout="00:01:00" openTimeout="00:01:00" receiveTimeout="00:10:00" sendTimeout="00:01:00" allowCookies="false" bypassProxyOnLocal="false" hostNameComparisonMode="StrongWildcard" maxBufferSize="65536" maxBufferPoolSize="524288" maxReceivedMessageSize="65536" messageEncoding="Text" textEncoding="utf-8" transferMode="Buffered" useDefaultWebProxy="true"> <readerQuotas maxDepth="32" maxStringContentLength="8192" maxArrayLength="16384" maxBytesPerRead="4096" maxNameTableCharCount="16384" /> <security mode="None"> <transport clientCredentialType="None" proxyCredentialType="None" realm="" /> <message clientCredentialType="UserName" algorithmSuite="Default" /> </security> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <client> <endpoint address="http://myserver.somesdomain.com/Services/MyExternalService.svc" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_IMyExternalService" contract="IMyInternalService" name="BasicHttpBinding_IMyExternalService" /> </client> </system.serviceModel> What do I need to do to wire this up correctly. • flash.display.Loader blocks on load in release build

    - by Anders
I'm loading a swf-file from my program written in as3 using the flash.display.Loader class. When I'm using the debug build configuration in FlashDevelop everything works fine. But when I'm using the release build configuration the program freezes for around two seconds efter the loader sends the progress events and before sending the complete event. This is my program: package { import flash.display.Loader; import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.events.Event; import flash.events.ProgressEvent; import flash.net.URLRequest; import flash.system.LoaderContext; import flash.system.ApplicationDomain; import flash.text.TextField; public class Main extends Sprite { private var frameCounter:int; private var frameCounterField:TextField = new TextField; private var statusField:TextField = new TextField; function Main():void { if (stage) init(); else addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init); } private function init(e:Event = null):void { removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init); addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, frame); frameCounterField.text = "On frame " + frameCounter.toString(); addChild(frameCounterField); statusField.y = 40; statusField.width = 300; addChild(statusField); var context:LoaderContext = new LoaderContext(false, ApplicationDomain.currentDomain, null); var urlReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("SomeFile.swf"); var loader:Loader = new Loader(); loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, onProgress); loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete); loader.load(urlReq, context); } private function frame(event:Event):void { frameCounterField.text = "On frame " + (++frameCounter).toString(); } private function onProgress(event:ProgressEvent):void { statusField.appendText("Progress on frame: " + frameCounter.toString() + " Loaded: " + event.bytesLoaded + " / " + event.bytesTotal + "\n"); } private function onComplete(event:Event):void { statusField.appendText("Completed on frame: " + frameCounter.toString() + "\n"); } } } In release I get the following output on the first frame: On frame 1 Progress on frame: 1 Loaded: 0 / 182468 Progress on frame: 1 Loaded: 65536 / 182468 Progress on frame: 1 Loaded: 131072 / 182468 Progress on frame: 1 Loaded: 182468 / 182468 After around two seconds where the program is frozen the line Completed on frame: 2 is added and the 'On frame X' counter starts ticking up. Debug build produces the same output but without the freeze. Not all swf-files I have tried loading triggers the problem. The size of the file doesn't seem to affect anything. I have tried compiling and running on another computer with the same result. What could cause this problem?

  • WPF Visual Studio Package gives error: Could not find endpoint element with name 'WCFname' and contr

    - by Andrei
Hi everybody. This error has been covered before in other questions, however not for a Visual Studio package. Could not find endpoint element with name 'WCFname' and contract 'WCFcontract' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. I have a VS package project that needs to connect to a WCF service that provides some functionality. I add a reference to the WCF service and Visual Studio automatically creates the content for the configuration file. config file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <system.serviceModel> <bindings> <wsHttpBinding> <binding name="WSHttpBinding_IWCFSearchService" closeTimeout="00:01:00" openTimeout="00:01:00" receiveTimeout="00:10:00" sendTimeout="00:01:00" bypassProxyOnLocal="false" transactionFlow="false" hostNameComparisonMode="StrongWildcard" maxBufferPoolSize="524288" maxReceivedMessageSize="65536" messageEncoding="Text" textEncoding="utf-8" useDefaultWebProxy="true" allowCookies="false"> <readerQuotas maxDepth="32" maxStringContentLength="8192" maxArrayLength="16384" maxBytesPerRead="4096" maxNameTableCharCount="16384" /> <reliableSession ordered="true" inactivityTimeout="00:10:00" enabled="false" /> <security mode="Message"> <transport clientCredentialType="Windows" proxyCredentialType="None" realm="" /> <message clientCredentialType="Windows" negotiateServiceCredential="true" algorithmSuite="Default" /> </security> </binding> </wsHttpBinding> </bindings> <client> <endpoint address="http://localhost:8732/Design_Time_Addresses/WCFSearchServiceLibrary/Service1/" binding="wsHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="WSHttpBinding_IWCFSearchService" contract="WCFSearchServiceReference.IWCFSearchService" name="WSHttpBinding_IWCFSearchService"> <identity> <dns value="localhost" /> </identity> </endpoint> </client> </system.serviceModel> </configuration> However, when I run the application (in VS experimental mode) it doesn't seem to take the provided configuration file (app.config). Everytime it just throws this error: Could not find endpoint element with name 'WSHttpBinding_IWCFSearchService' and contract 'WCFSearchServiceReference.IWCFSearchService' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this name could be found in the client element. My guess is that it's taking the configuration file for Visual Studio (since it is running VS experimental mode). So yeah...why isn't it recognizing the app.config file and how could I make the application to recognize it? Any help would be very welcomed as I have already tried to fix this for some time. Thanks.

  • Ndepend CQL to query types out of assembly wildcard

    - by icelava
In order to determine what low-level framework types a web application is directly using, one has to define each and every assembly involved. SELECT TYPES FROM ASSEMBLIES "Company.System.Framework", "Company.System.Framework.ReferenceLookup", "Company.System.Framework.Web", "Company.System.Framework.Security", "Company.System.Framework.Logging", "Company.System.Framework.DMS" WHERE IsDirectlyUsedBy "WebAssembly" I cannot find any syntax to wildcard the list of assemblies. Is there no way to shortcut this? We have a lot of framework level assemblies. i.e. Company.System.Framework.*

My application works just fine until, in some unidentified conditions, it begins throwing this errors: When these errors start appearing, they appear in all over the application, no matter the code is built using ObjectDataSource or SqlDataSource. • Loading a Page into a jQuery Dialog

    - by Dave
I tend to follow a fairly "modular" approach to building applications and I recently started working with jQuery. The application I'm working on is going to be fairly large so I'm trying to break pieces out into separate files/modules when possible. One example of this is a "User Settings" dialog. This dialog has a form, a few tabs, and quite a good number of input fields so I want to develop it in a separate HTML file (PHP actually, but it can be considered HTML for the purposes of this example). It's an entire page in and of itself with all the tags you would expect such as: <html><head></head><body></body></html> So I can now develop, what I want to be, the dialog separate from the base application. This dialog has it's own Javascript (A LOT of Javascript, in fact) in the head as well, with jQuery $(document).ready(){} capturing, etc. Everything works flawlessly in isolation. However, when I attempt to load the jQuery modal dialog with the page (inside of the main application page), as one might expect, trouble ensues. Here's a brief, very simple, example of what it looks like: editUserDialog.load ("editUser.php", {id : $('#userList').val(), popup : "true"}, function () { editUserDialog.dialog ("option", "title" , "Edit User"); editUserDialog.dialog ('open'); }); (I'm passing in a "popup" flag to the page so that the page can determine its context -- i.e. as a page or inside of the jQuery dialog). Question 1: When I moved the code from the "head" into "body" (in the editUser.php page) it actually worked for the most part. It seemed that jQuery was calling the $(document).ready() function in the context of the body of the loaded file and not the head. Is this a bad idea? Question 2: Is my process for building this application just totally flawed to begin with? I've scoured the net to attempt to find a "best practices" sort of document to building reasonably large applications using jQuery/PHP without a lot of success so maybe there's something out there someone else is aware of that I've somehow missed. Thanks for bearing with me while I attempt to describe the issues I've encountered and I hope I've accurately described the problem.

  • Exception using SQLiteDataReader

    - by galford13x
I'm making a Custom SQLite Wrapper. This is meant to allow a presistent connection to a database. However, I receive an exception when calling this function twice. public Boolean DatabaseConnected(string databasePath) { bool exists = false; if (ConnectionOpen()) { this.Command.CommandText = string.Format(DATABASE_QUERY); using (reader = this.Command.ExecuteReader()) { while (reader.Read()) { if (string.Compare(reader[FILE_NAME_COL_HEADER].ToString(), databasePath, true) == 0) { exists = true; break; } } reader.Close(); } } return exists; } I use the above function to check if the database is currently open before executing a command or trying to open a database. The first time I execute the function, it executes with no issue. After that the reader = this.Command.ExecuteReader() throws an exception Object reference not set to an instance of an object. • Simulink: type consistency errors

    - by stanigator
Using this Simulink model file as a reference, I'm trying to figure out the two following errors: I have no idea what has gone wrong with the data type consistency/conversion problems. Do you know what the error messages mean exactly in the context of a model? It would be great to get an interpretation of the problem to solve it. Thanks in advance.

Hello guys! The reference says this: "You should call this function from the main thread of your application only." But I would like to get the current graphics context from separate threads. What do you think? What can I do to reach this? Edit: Thanks guys for the answers. I don't know which is good for me at the moment, but thank you very much.

Hi everyone, I've torn out all but two hairs on my head trying to get my WCF services hosted in IIS 7.5. • get local groups and not the primary groups for a domain user

    - by user175084
i have a code to get the groups a user belongs to. try { DirectoryEntry adRoot = new DirectoryEntry(string.Format("WinNT://{0}", Environment.UserDomainName)); DirectoryEntry user = adRoot.Children.Find(completeUserName, "User"); object obGroups = user.Invoke("Groups"); foreach (object ob in (IEnumerable)obGroups) { // Create object for each group. DirectoryEntry obGpEntry = new DirectoryEntry(ob); listOfMyWindowsGroups.Add(obGpEntry.Name); } return true; } catch (Exception ex) { new GUIUtility().LogMessageToFile("Error in getting User MachineGroups = " + ex); return false; } the above code works fine when i have to find the groups of a local user but for a domain user it returns a value "Domain User" which is kind of wierd as it is a part of 2 local groups. Please can some1 help in solving this mystery. thanks Research I did some finding and got that i am being returned the primary group of the domain user called "Domain User" group but what i actually want is the groups of the local machines the domain user is a part of... i cannot get that.. any suggestions another code using LDAP string domain = Environment.UserDomainName; DirectoryEntry DE = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + domain, null, null, AuthenticationTypes.Secure); DirectorySearcher search = new DirectorySearcher(); search.SearchRoot = DE; search.Filter = "(SAMAccountName=" + completeUserName + ")"; //Searches active directory for the login name search.PropertiesToLoad.Add("displayName"); // Once found, get a list of Groups try { SearchResult result = search.FindOne(); // Grab the records and assign them to result if (result != null) { DirectoryEntry theUser = result.GetDirectoryEntry(); theUser.RefreshCache(new string[] { "tokenGroups" }); foreach (byte[] resultBytes in theUser.Properties["tokenGroups"]) { System.Security.Principal.SecurityIdentifier mySID = new System.Security.Principal.SecurityIdentifier(resultBytes, 0); DirectorySearcher sidSearcher = new DirectorySearcher(); sidSearcher.SearchRoot = DE; sidSearcher.Filter = "(objectSid=" + mySID.Value + ")"; sidSearcher.PropertiesToLoad.Add("distinguishedName"); SearchResult sidResult = sidSearcher.FindOne(); if (sidResult != null) { listOfMyWindowsGroups.Add((string)sidResult.Properties["distinguishedName"][0]); } } } else { new GUIUtility().LogMessageToFile("no user found"); } return true; } catch (Exception ex) { new GUIUtility().LogMessageToFile("Error obtaining group names: " + ex.Message + " Please contact your administrator."); // If an error occurs report it to the user. return false; } this works too but i get the same result "Domain Users" . Please can some1 tell me how to get the local machine groups...????
