• rails - named scoped help

  Hi All, I want to write a named scoped to get a record from its id. Ex: I have a model called Event and its same as doing Event.find(id) (I dont want to use find inside my controller and I want my controller to use a named scoped (for future flexibility)) So I have written a named scoped named_scope :from_id, lambda { |id| {:conditions = ['id= ?', id] } } and I'm calling it from my controller like Event.from_id(id) But my problems is it returns Event object array not only one object Ex: if I want to get event name I have to write event = Event.from_id(id) event[0].name instead I want to write event = Event.from_id(id) event.name Am I doing something wrong here.. thanks in advance cheers sameera

  Hello! So I have a table schema that has users who can be friends. If I've got 2 tables that are joined in a 3rd table with a many-to-many relationship, is it possible to write an ICriteria with expressions in one of the tables and the join table? • Windows 7 explorer always crashes, opens small "Personalized Settings" window

  My Windows 7 desktop PC, built by me, started acting very weird in the last couple of days. I use it quite often, about half of the time through TeamViewer. Explorer would crash and restart randomly, almost always through TeamViewer. This made me suspect that TeamViewer was the problem but I have reproduced it with and without TeamViewer several times. The only way I can seem to get the problem not to occur is by booting into Safe Mode. I have used CCleaner and Malwarebytes to make sure it wasn't a registry error or malware causing the problem, and I have tried the fix in the seemly related issue here as well every other fix I have found online including removing security updates KB980408 and KB2926765 as well as using "sfc /scannow" and a bunch of other things I can't remember. More recently when I try to start explorer it is popping up a small window that says "Personalized Settings" on the top, but is completely empty and crashes instantly. The only way I can get it to disappear is to kill the explorer.exe process. I wish I could take a screenshot but I can't seem to open paint or even find the exe. I have tried restarting it, I have tried starting it while the personalized settings window was open. I have come up with two lists of processes the first is the list of active processes when I boot into safe mode and explorer seems to work fine. The second is the list of processes that I can narrow it down to in normal boot and still replicate the problem. There is one process that I can't seem to close. NisSrv.exe which is describes as "Microsoft Network Realtime Inspection Service". When I try to close the process NisSrv.exe it says "The operation could not be completed. Access is denied." When I try to close the related service it gives the same message. Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected. My explorer tab in Autoruns seen below along with the error when I try to uncheck something. I should add that I seem to be able to disable shell extensions with ShellExView but I still can't get explorer to start correctly. EXPLORER SHELL UPDATE - See screenshot below I can access the explorer right click menu through a file manager I downloaded called NexusFile, but still no luck starting explorer. Another round of errors that I am getting regarding Windows Search Service The search service has detected corrupted data files in the index {id=4700}. The service will attempt to automatically correct this problem by rebuilding the index. Details: The content index catalog is corrupt.   I am writing a add-on module which is integrated with an existing PHP application; Because I am using a MVC pattern, and which may requires lot of inclusion of classes (which might not be used at all depending on the action of the user), I decide to use autoloading of classes. However, I have to ensure that the autoload function does not interferes with the normal operations of the existing applications. Does autoload only kicks in if a class name is not defined? Say I have to write another module which uses its own autoload functions (say, I have an autoload for a module, since they each reside in their own folder), how do I differentiate which module is it for? For #2, I thought of 2 options. Either prefix the class name with the module name (Such as 'MyNewModule_View_Default' and 'AnotherModule_View_Default'), or use file_exists to check the include file exists. Other suggestions are welcomed too!

• DHCP and DNS on none AD 2003 Server PTR is updating but no A records

  I have a strange issue, I have a DHCP and DNS server running in a non AD environment, on Windows 2003 server. I setup DHCP to update DNS A and PTR records even if the client doesnt request it, but I only see PTR records updated, the A records are not created at all. The domain is "local" forward zone is called "local" and in the option 15 set to "local" (actual name) the PTR records are created with the right name (example: win64_ent.local), What am I missing here ?

• Use launchctl to fire an AppleScript script periodically

  I have written an AppleScript that lets me back up a particular file. The script runs fine inside AppleScript Editor: it does what it's supposed to do perfectly. So far so good. Now I'd like to run this script at timed intervals. So I use launchctl & .plist to make this happen. The validation is not executed. Can anybody just press me against the place where my error lies?

  Hello All, I have a model 'Test' ,in which i have 2 foreignkey models.py class Test(models.Model): id =models.Autofield(primary_key=True) name=models.ForeignKey(model2) login=models.ForeignKey(model1) status=models.CharField(max_length=200) class model1(models.Model): id=models.CharField(primary_key=True) . . is_active=models.IntergerField() class model2(model.Model): id=models.ForeignKey(model1) . . status=model.CharField(max_length=200) When i add object in model 'Test' , if i select certain login then only the objects related to that objects(model2) should be shown in field 'name'.How can i achieve this.THis will be runtime as if i change the login field value the objects in name should also change.

• Modify on-the-fly verbose_name in a model field on django admin

  Hi I have this sample model working with the admin class Author(models.Model): name = models.CharField(_('Text in here'), max_length=100) with verbose_name set as ugettext_lazy 'Text in here', but sometimes, depending on the site_id i want to present a diferent verbose name, so I modified the init in this way def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): super(Author, self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) #some logic in here self._meta.get_field('name').verbose_name = _('Other text') It works, displaying the 'Other text' instead the 'Text in here'... except for the very first time the author/add view is used. ¿Is it the right way to do it? ¿How can i fix the first time problem?
