• JSF Custom EL function works only on the first load of the page.

  I created a ( JSP-based) custom EL function to use in the rendered tag. The function will return a boolean to decide if a page component needs to be rendered on a page or not. I import it onto the jsp page using <%@ taglib uri = "/WEB-INF/mine.tld" prefix = "g" %. Everything works perfect on the first load of the jsp page. Once a button is clicked, the form submits and then I am getting errors like 'No ClassLoaders found for: the class which implements my EL function' and 'Function not found'. What is going on here? What will be a fix?

• Convert XML attributes to a Dictionary in Linq to XML

  I've got a program that needs to convert two attributes of a particular tag to the key and value of an Dictionary<int,string>. The XML looks like this: (fragment) <startingPoint coordinates="1,1" player="1" /> and so far my LINQ looks something like this: XNamespace ns = "http://the_namespace"; var startingpoints = from sp in xml.Elements(ns+"startingPoint") from el in sp.Attributes() select el.Value; Which gets me a nice IEnumerable full of things like "1,1" and "1", but there should be a way to adapt something like this answer to do attributes instead of elements. Little help please? Thank you!

  I have a workflow composed of many custom activities. All these activities need to access startup arguments of the workflow itself. I can define InArgument inside all these custom activities and bind the workflow arguments to custom activity arguments but I am not comfortable with this solution. What is the best way to access workflow level argument and variable declarations from custom activities. Can I get them from ActivityContext? Thanks.

  I'm a perl scripter working in python and need to know a way to do the following perl in python. $Hash{$key1}[$index_value]{$key2} = $value; I have seen the stackoverflow question here: List of dictionaries, in a dictionary - in Python I still don't understand what self.rules is doing or if it works for my solution. My data will be coming from files, and will I will be using regexes to capture to temporary variables until ready to store in the data structure. If you need to ask, the order related to the $index_value is important and would like to be maintained as an integer. Any suggestions are appreciated or if you think I need to rethink data structures with Python that would be helpful.

  I've already done many configs where dictionaries are passed into services in the <parameters> block. But what I find myself needing right now is to build a NameValueCollection (allowing multiple entries with the same key) or a Collection of KeyValuePair objects. The reason for this is im not using this dictionary to look up b when given a, im basically using it to pass in a Tuple (pair) of (a,b) to be used later in code. Im kind of new to castle windor and I was wondering how i would go about making a List of KeyValuePair's injected, or a NameValueCollection injected.

The IRenderingExtension interface doesnot seem to be compatible with 2008. • WCF: parameters handled in custom channel not present in generated WSDL.

  I have some special parameters to all my wcf service methods that are handled inside a custom channel and are not exposed in the service method parameter list. This works fine for json/xml endpoints, but the I don't know how to use a SOAP endpoint with this setup because the generated WSDL doesn't include fields that are not in the service call parameter list. Is there a way I can centralize the handling of the special parameters that apply to all service methods (authentication, locale and other contextual information) and provide a SOAP endpoint that Just Works (tm)? Hand editing wsdl files is not an option.

• Is there a dictionary about common programming vocabulary?

  When I need a name for a new class that extends behaviour of an existing class, I usually have hard time to come up with a name for it. For example, if I have a class MyClass, then the new class could be named something like MyClassAdapter, MyClassCalculator, MyClassDispatcher, MyClassParser,... This new name should of course represent the behaviour of the class and would ideally be same as the design pattern in which it is used (Adapter, Decorator, Factory,...). But since we don't overuse design patterns, this is not always the solution :) So, do you know for a dictionary or a list of common words, that we can use to represent the behaviour of the class, containing a short description of the expected behaviour? Some examples: replicator, shadow, token, acceptor, worker, mapper, driver, bucket, socket, validator, wrapper, parser, verifier,... You could also look at this list as a cheat sheet for metaphors, with which you can better understand your problem domain.

• Why my custom CStatic derived control does not receive WM_SIZE message?

  Hello everyone! I'm currently developing a custom control that derives from CStatic MFC class (Smart Device C++ project). I have created the control class using VC++ MFC class wizard, selecting CStatic class as its base class. I have used Class View to add OnSize event handler for my control class (I have selected WM_SIZE message from messages list), and new OnSize method has been created by Visual Studio along with ON_WM_SIZE() statement between BEGIN_MESSAGE_MAP(...) and END_MESSAGE_MAP(). The problem is that my control does not receive WM_SIZE thus OnSize method is never called - I used MoveWindow to change size of my control - its size changes as I have seen on dialog window but WM_SIZE message is never being sent. When I send WM_SIZE through SendMessage or PostMessage function - the control OnSize method is called normally. What do I wrong? I've read MSDN docs about CStatic control and there is no information that WM_SIZE message is never sent to a static control window. Sorry for my bad English.

How can I join the second url in the second tuple together with the urljoin() function?   I'm writing a custom iterator for a Matrix class, and I want to implement the increment method, which gets called when the iterator is incremented: void MatrixIterator::increment() { // go to the next element } Suppose the iterator has been incremented too many times and now points to past the end of the matrix (i.e. past the one-past-the-end point). What is the best practice for this situation? Should I catch this with an assert, or should I just say it's the user's responsibility to keep track of where the iterator is pointing and it's none of my business?

  I'm using sqlite3 in python 2.5. I've created a table that looks like this: create table votes ( bill text, senator_id text, vote text) I'm accessing it with something like this: v_cur.execute("select * from votes") row = v_cur.fetchone() bill = row[0] senator_id = row[1] vote = row[2] What I'd like to be able to do is have fetchone (or some other method) return a dictionary, rather than a list, so that I can refer to the field by name rather than position. For example: bill = row['bill'] senator_id = row['senator_id'] vote = row['vote'] I know you can do this with MySQL, but does anyone know how to do it with SQLite? Thanks!!!

  Hi, For various reasons, i'm trying to write my own input keyboard. So far all is going well except that of creating the suggestions. I've found the latinIME algorithm, which is all good. However i'm having major difficulty working out how to load the dictionary in the first place. I've had a good look round the net, and found various suggestions, but no definitive answers, and i cant seem to get any of them to work. In short, I'm not sure how to extract by index in django templating. Current template code is: <h3>Notes</h3> {% for year in notes %} {{ year }} # Works fine {% for note in notes.year %} {{ note }} # Returns blank {% endfor %} {% endfor %} If I replace {% for note in notes.year %} with {% for note in notes.2010 %} things work fine, but I need that '2010' to be dynamic.   I have add a custom plugin that insert custom tags into my tinyMCE editor of the format: title I want the custom tags to be rendered with some styles when viewed in the WYSIWYG view.   I've got some json from last.fm's api which I've serialised into a dictionary using simplejson. A quick example of the basic structure is below. { "artist": "similar": { "artist": { "name": "Blah", "image": {"#text":"URLHERE","size": "small"} "image": {"#text":"URLHERE","size": "medium"} "image": {"#text":"URLHERE","size": "large"} } } } Any ideas how I can access the image urls of various different sizes. My attempts at accessing the #text variable don't seem to work because python doesn't appear to like #'s in the names. And any ideas how I can easily get the url for the depending on the size?   Please bear in mind that I've read all the instructions I could find about adding component icon to my custom component. And I am able to do this when we talk about the icon size which is 24x24 pixels. I see the icon when a component is dropped on the form. However I can not see the small 16x16 icon which should be displayed when browsing Tool Palette. I've read that I should name my two other BMP files which are contained in DCR file like this: MyComponentName16 [for 16x16 BMP file] MyComponentName32 [for 32x32 BMP file] Unfortunately this does not seem to work, I've tried to restart Delphi few times in hope that it might be the case of not refreshing something, but without any success. Any ideas?
