  • IE7 issue - cannot download streamed file when Automatic prompting for file downloads is disabled

    Hi, My application is J2EE (JSP/Servlet) based. I encounter an issue when i try to open a new window (pop-up) from JSP and call a Servlet action (e.g. Streamer.do) which streams a PDF file inside that pop-up. Problem: While IE 7 - Tools - Internet Options - Security - Custom Level - Downloads - Automatic prompting for file downloads is Disabled and while pop-up window get opened, I am unable to download the file (Save/Open prompt is not comming up). In contrast, when I enable this option, I am able to download. But this option sometimes would be disabled in some environments. While testing this in Mozilla Firefox 3.0/3/5/IE6 it is working fine without any settings change. When i check it to enable i then get the Save/Open prompt to work correctly. This should be problem with IE7. Can anybody help us with Javascript or any working settings which doesnt care whether the "Automatic prompting for downloads" option in IE7 is enabled.   • Download MMS content on Blackberry

    Hi I am relatively new to coding for the blackberry and I need to write a java application that can capture all incoming and outgoing MMS data from a Blackberry device. I have gotten the capturing of outgoing MMS's sorted with the use of A sendListener, but the problem comes with the incoming MMS's. If I use a MessageListener that processes only those of type BinaryMessage, i can capture the binary notification SMS that comes in when there is an incoming MMS. From this notification, i can get the senders MSISDN as well as the URL on the MMSC where the content is stored. To get the actual MMS content, i presume i need to download it from this URL, but im unable to get this working. I have tried just opening a HTTPConnetion to this URL, opening an inputStream on it and reading from there, but i retrieve no content. If i manually go to that URL on the blackberry, i can see the content fine (and of course the blackberry can download it automatically anyway). Can anyone please help me asap on how i can get the mms content for incoming MMS's. Thanks alot

  • Choosing an installer product that is free and will download/install the .NET Framework

    I'm currently using the Visual Studio Installer (Setup Project) in Visual Studio 2010 as the installer for MyProgram. It has some quirky bugs and is not very customizable so I would like to switch to another installer product. Here are my requirements: Must be free (and licensed for commercial use) Must install the Windows Installer 3.1 and .NET Framework 4.0 if the client doesn't have them The installer will download them if they are not available The code for detecting the .NET Framework and downloading it must be written by Microsoft (I do not want to have to update hard-coded URLs and registry keys in the future). I know that the Windows SDK includes a setup bootstrap that does this (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Bootstrapper) In the future, when .NET Framework 5 is released and MyProgram uses it, no installer code will need to be changed, the updated installer product should see that MyProgram now uses the .NET Framework version 5 and will install that Here are my current choices: Visual Studio Installer: Automatically detects/downloads/installs Windows Installer and .NET Framework using a bootstrapper Setup.exe (Good!) Limited/buggy functionality (Uninstall shortcuts in the Start Menu cause empty folders to be left behind during uninstall, asking the user if they want a desktop shortcut requires a lot of work, etc.) NSIS: Doesn't natively support the .NET Framework so adding it as a prerequisite requires excessive coding, hardcoded URLS, etc. Inno Setup: Doesn't natively support the .NET Framework so adding it as a prerequisite requires excessive coding, hardcoded URLs, etc. WiX: Steep learning curve... not sure if I want to spend weeks learning it only to find out that it has the same uninstall problem as the Visual Studio Installer (because they both use MSI files) InstallShield LE 2010: Downloading it requires me to setup a fake email account to register just to download it. Then once it is installed it has to contact the company's servers and transmit some private information to them before I'm even allowed to try the free version. This is the most insidious form of DRM that there is and I will not accept it.

  • curl: downloading from dynamic url

    I'm trying to download an html file with curl in bash. Like this site: http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule/detselect.aspx?termsel=10S&subareasel=PHYSICS&idxcrs=0001B+++ When I download it manually, it works fine. However, when i try and run my script through crontab, the output html file is very small and just says "Object moved to here." with a broken link. Does this have something to do with the sparse environment the crontab commands run it? I found this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1279340/php-ssl-curl-object-moved-error but i'm using bash, not php. What are the equivalent command line options or variables to set to fix this problem in bash? (I want to do this with curl, not wget) Edit: well, sometimes downloading the file manually (via interactive shell) works, but sometimes it doesn't (I still get the "Object moved here" message). When this executes, I get the browse window, and am able to select a location, and click save. After that, nothing happens. I have each event handler hooked up to my logger, and not a single one is being called! Is there something missing here?

  • Using CURL within a loop to download a file, 1st one works, 2nd one times out

    Morning all, I am using CURL to download an image file within a loop. The first time it runs fine and I see the image appear in the directory. The second time it fails with a timeout, despite it being a valid URL. Can anyone suggest why it always fails on the 2nd time and how to fix it?   • Programmatically downloaded file is larger than it should be

    I'm trying to download a file from SharePoint. The file itself is an InfoPath template although this is probably inconsequential. If I put the url into internet explorer and save the file to disk, it comes in at 4.47KB and works correctly. If I try to download from the same Url in code the it comes back as 21.9KB and is corrupt. Why it's coming down as corrupt I'm trying to work out.     So I want to serve a couple of mp3s from a folder in /home/username/music. I didn't think this would be such a big deal but I am a bit confused on how to do it using generic views and my own url. urls.py url(r'^song/(?P<song_id>\d+)/download/$', song_download, name='song_download'), The example I am following is found in the generic view section of the Django documentations: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/generic-views/ (It's all the way at the bottom) I am not 100% sure on how to tailor this to my needs. Here is my views.py def song_download(request, song_id): song = Song.objects.get(id=song_id) response = object_detail( request, object_id = song_id, mimetype = "audio/mpeg", ) response['Content-Disposition'= "attachment; filename=%s - %s.mp3" % (song.artist, song.title) return response I am actually at a loss of how to convey that I want it to spit out my mp3 instead of what it does now which is to output a .mp3 with all of the current pages html contained. Should my template be my mp3? Do I need to setup apache to serve the files or is Django able to retrieve the mp3 from the filesystem(proper permissions of course) and serve that? If it do need to configure Apache how do I tell Django that? Thanks in advanced. These files are all on the HD so I don't need to "generate" anything on the spot and I'd like to prevent revealing the location of these files if at all possible. A simple /song/1234/download would be fantastic.

  • Android Development-cannot download an image outside of onCreate

    hi everyone...... im new to android development........and i am stuck with a problem...... i am trying to develop an android application that shows the user the location of atms,hotels etc on a google map....i havent started working on the gps yet.as of now the app works something like this....first of all a map loads on which i intend to show the users current location......on clicking on the menu button there are 3 options..... -services -about us -quit on selecting services option the following options are available...... -atm -hospital -hotel etc on selecting the atm option we will be shown a screen displaying some text........ on using the menu for this screen we get the following menu items..... -sbi -canara -hdfc -icici etc my intention is that when the user selects the sbi option a map should load showing the various places where there are sbi atms near where the user is currently...... ......i started out with the google map api but i had to quit because when i select one of the menu options, such as "sbi",the map doesnt load......instead i am getting the error "application failed to load"...basically i was trying to load a map activity from my first map activity......after googling a bit without any results i tried another approach.......i tried to download and view the static map of the location i wanted..it worked.......but when i tried to download the static map when i select an option like before i get the same error..."application failed to load"...then i tried downloading 2 images from inside onCreate....that worked.......i cannot do the same thing outside the onCreate.....for eg.inside the function for the selected option... i have given the link to my code below..... if someone can please look into this it would be of great help to me.........i have been sitting with this problem for days now......and its urgent too.......i have done the project in eclipse....... httpDownload.java --- http://dpaste.com/195981/

  • PHP IIS problems downloading file says it is corrupt

    Hi, I am running PHP on IIS 6 with mssql. I have uploaded a file to my webserver through a php script. Upon checking the file on the server the file is ok and not corrupt. However, when i then have a link on my website to try and download the file, it says the file is corrupt. I know the file isnt corrupt as i can view it perfectly if i look at the file on the server.   • PHP File Serving Script: Unreliable Downloads?

    This post started as a question on ServerFault ( http://serverfault.com/questions/131156/user-receiving-partial-downloads ) but I determined that our php script was the culprit. So I'm issuing an updated question here about what I believe is the actual issue. I am using a php script to verify permissions and then serve up a file for users of my website to download. Most of the time, this works, but recently one user has been seeing problems with larger downloads. He is only getting ~80% of downloads for files that are 100MB in size. Also, all downloads from this script fail to report a filesize. Further, tests revealed that the same user COULD reliably download each of the failed files if given a direct link (at which point the filesize is reported). Here's the relevant snippet of code that we are using to serve the file: header("Content-type:$contenttype"); $len = filesize($filename); header("Content-Length: $len"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=".$title.".".$ext); readfile($filename); Note that $contenttype, $filename, $title, and $ext are all set correctly before we get here. These have been triple-checked. None of them are the problem. Also, $len does provide the correct filesize. While researching this issue, I came across this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1334471/content-length-header-always-zero It seems that I am encountering the same issue. When I use the script, I get chunked encoding on the file and no size is set for content-length. I'm hypothesizing that something is going wrong on the large downloads, leading him to get a zero-length chunk before the end of the file. Before I can decide whether or not I want to do this myself or outsource this, I'd like to try a few apps myself to get a feeling for the UI. Is there any IPhone emulator I might use to download and run apps from the App Store? I do have an Intel-based Mac if that helps.

    I am unable to download a file from rtmp server, I'm using the following code: Response.ContentType = "audio/mpeg"; Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + mpg); audiofile = "rtmp://XXX/oflaDemo/" + audiofile; Response.TransmitFile(audiofile); It's showing a message that could not find the virtual path. Could anyone help with this problem?

    I need suggestions on how can I download attachments from my IMAP mails which having attachments and current date in subject line i.e. YYYYMMDD format and save the attachments at local path. I gone through the perl module 'Mail::IMAPClient' and able to connect to the imap mail server but need help on other tasks. One more thing to note is that my IMAP sever required SSL auth.
