  • drupal bootstrap script: how to get list of all nodes of type x?

    - by groovehunter
hi. I create a custom import and export, at the moment as an external script (via bootstrap), i plan to create a module in a more generic fashion lateron. I am building a frontend for nagios and for our host management and nagios configuration btw. Maybe it might become useful for other environments (networkmanagement) Now i need to know how to get list of all nodes of type x? I want to avoid direct SQL. A suggestion i got was to make an rss and parse it but i acess the drupal db a dozen times to extract various nodes, so it feels strange to do a web request for one thing So what i am looking for as newbie drupal dev is just a pointer to basic search module api for this task TIA florian

  • Recordings Available - Features & Functions Forms Module

    - by MHundal
ETPM provides robust Forms functionality that allows implementations to configure Registration & Tax Forms, configure Form Rules and process the Forms.  The Forms Definition allows for defining the Form Sections and Form Lines.  The Forms Generator uses the Forms Definition details to create the necessary Business Objects, Application Security and User Interfaces to allow interaction with the Forms.  Form Rules are used for validation of the Form Line details and creating entities in the system (creating taxpayers, accounts, financial transactions, etc...). The following recordings provide an overview of the Forms Definition Process, Form Rules and other important concepts part of the Forms Module. • Florida Hospital Takes Charge of Their Destiny with Drupal

<b>CMS Wire:</b> "In August 2007, Florida hospital hired a "rock star" physician. With this hire, a series of events was triggered that would end up with Drupal (news, site) hosting over 125 department and team intranet sites, over 40 externally-facing marketing sites and a growing number of other applications."

  • XML/XSL Module 04.03.05 is now officially released.

XML/XSL Module 04.03.05 is a maintenance release. Download is available from Codeplex. Changes were required to fix issues caused by conflicts with a new namespace in DotNetNuke 5.3. as the XML module did not use fully qualified namespaces everywhere. Please upgrade to XML 4.3.5 before upgrading your DNN version to 5.3.1 and above. In case you missed this step and the entire application runs into a Yellow Screen of Death, the easiest workaround is to simply delete ~\App_Code\XML\Handlers\download.vb....Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Create a Gallery With Drupal and Thickbox

Powerful features and special effects are not something that only big websites with plenty of cash to burn can afford. In fact, most of the neat design features you see nowdays are pretty easy to get right - some with practically no programming required. Let's look at how to create a basic image gallery using Drupal, Views and Thickbox.

  • How to specify a web service URL within a Drupal module's simpletest?

    - by Matt V.
I have a Drupal module that talks to a REST API on a separate server for user registration and authentication. The module runs on multiple sites which point to different servers which may run different versions of the REST API. Ideally, I'd like to be able to run each site against its own end-point, in case changes on the back end break things. Is there a way to dynamically specify a different end-point URL when running a test? Or do I have to edit the .test file for each site? I'm trying to keep the module's files as generic and flexible as possible. I guess I could have the .test file look for a .inc file that could override the URL, if needed for a particular site. Is there a better way though?

  • Importing Classes Within a Module

    - by CodeJoust
Currently, I have a parser with multiple classes that work together. For Instance: TreeParser creates multiple Product and Reactant modules which in turn create multiple Element classes. The TreeParser is called by a render method within the same module, which is called from the importer. Currently, using the class name in the imported module file works only if the file calling the module contains from module_name import *, so the classes are imported into the main namespace. Finally, if the package has dependencies (such as re and another another module within the same folder), where is the best place to require those modules? Within the __init__.py file or within the module itself? I don't really want to add the module name in front of every call to the class, in case I do call import *, however, is it possible to use a variable name of the current module to call the class, or use a workaround in the __init__.py file? I'm probably used to the ruby require '' method instead of python's module system.

  • What Part of Your Project Should be in Source Code Control?

    - by muffinista
A fellow developer has started work on a new Drupal project, and the sysadmin has suggested that they should only put the sites/default subdirectory in source control, because it "will make updates easily scriptable." Setting aside that somewhat dubious claim, it raises another question -- what files should be under source control? And is there a situation where some large chunk of files should be excluded? My opinion is that the entire tree for the project should be under control, and this would be true for a Drupal project, rails, or anything else. This seems like a no-brainer -- you clearly need versioning for your framework as much as you do for any custom code you write. That said, I would love to get other opinions on this. Are there any arguments for not having everything under control? Is this sysadmin a BOFH?

  • What is the correct way to bootstrap Drupal with Kohana 3?

    - by Dave
Hi, I am trying to implement single sign on between an existing Drupal site a Kohana 3 based webapp. Ideally I would like to load Drupal's session information into $GLOBALS using the bootstap: require_once('../includes/bootstrap.inc'); drupal_bootstrap(DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_SESSION); A post on the Kohana forum suggested that this should be placed in Kohana's index.php, but didn't say where. I've tried right at the start, and just before Kohana's own bootstrap, but both result in a White Screen of Death. Changing the bootstrap level to DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_CONFIGURATION works, but the session data isn't loaded. Any bootstrap level above DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_ACCESS results in a WSOD. If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it!

  • Is this a possible way to get Drupal AD SSO?

    - by JollyRogers
I'm currently building a Drupal website in an Active Directory environment. One of the site's requirements is Single Sign On, which to date seems to be impossible because there is no Kerberos SPNEGO/GSSAPI auth module for drupal. I've come up with an idea on how SSO could be attempted on IIS. Since IIS has the option to require Kerberos authentication, we can let IIS handle authentication and use the AUTH_USER server variable to pass the authorized user name to the an 'improved' LDAP_auth module. The LDAP_auth module would then check the user name (but not password since it doesn't know or need to know the password) against LDAP to get the user's roles. (AD groups) Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, does anyone have any ideas on how to implement this?

  • Dynamic Variable Names in Included Module in Ruby?

    - by viatropos
I'm hoping to implement something like all of the great plugins out there for ruby, so that you can do this: acts_as_commentable has_attached_file :avatar But I have one constraint: That helper method can only include a module; it can't define any variables or methods. Here's what the structure looks like, and I'm wondering if you know the missing piece in the puzzle: # 1 - The workhorse, encapsuling all dynamic variables module My::Module def self.included(base) base.extend ClassMethods base.class_eval do include InstanceMethods end end module InstanceMethods self.instance_eval %Q? def #{options[:my_method]} "world!" end ? end module ClassMethods end end # 2 - all this does is define that helper method module HelperModule def self.included(base) base.extend(ClassMethods) end module ClassMethods def dynamic_method(options = {}) include My::Module(options) end end end # 3 - send it to active_record ActiveRecord::Base.send(:include, HelperModule) # 4 - what it looks like class TestClass < ActiveRecord::Base dynamic_method :my_method => "hello" end puts TestClass.new.hello #=> "world!" That %Q? I'm not totally sure how to use, but I'm basically just wanting to somehow be able to pass the options hash from that helper method into the workhorse module. Is that possible? That way, the workhorse module could define all sorts of functionality, but I could name the variables whatever I wanted at runtime.

  • Does a Perl module know where it is installed?

    - by CoffeeMonster
Hi Perl programmers, I have started creating a Perl package that contains a default email template. The MANIFEST looks something like: SendMyEmail.pm SendMyEmail/defualt_email.tt Currently I know where the module (and the template) are - but does the module itself know where on disk it is? So could the module find the default template without my help? # This is what I would like to do. package SendMyEmail; sub new { my ($self, $template) = @_; $template ||= $dir_of_SendMyEmail .'/SendMyEmail/default_email.tt'; # ?? } Is there a better way of including a templates text, or a better place to put the template? Any references to CPAN modules that do something similar would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

  • DotNetNuke Page module - Silverlight Edition

As part of the DotNetNuke Hackathon at the Capital DotNetNuke User Group on June 16th, I discussed using Silverlight to create rich DotNetNuke modules. The example that I presented was a work in progress which Ill be working on during the course of the Hackathon, even as participants are working on their own submissions. Youll be able to follow along with my progress over the next few days as I continue to flesh out the module. The module that I am working on is a Silverlight based replacement...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Pass Arguments to Included Module in Ruby?

The reason for this is because, I want the options hash to define something like type, and that could be converted into one of say 20 different 'workhorse' modules, all of which I could sum up in a line like this: def dynamic_method(options = {}) include ("My::Helpers::#{options[:type].to_s.camelize}").constantize(options) end Then those 'workhorses' would handle the options, doing things like: has_many "#{options[:something]}" Here's what the structure looks like, and I'm wondering if you know the missing piece in the puzzle: # 1 - The workhorse, encapsuling all dynamic variables module My::Module def self.included(base) base.extend ClassMethods base.class_eval do include InstanceMethods end end module InstanceMethods self.instance_eval %Q? def #{options[:my_method]} "world!" end ? end module ClassMethods end end # 2 - all this does is define that helper method module HelperModule def self.included(base) base.extend(ClassMethods) end module ClassMethods def dynamic_method(options = {}) # don't know how to get options through! include My::Module(options) end end end # 3 - send it to active_record ActiveRecord::Base.send(:include, HelperModule) # 4 - what it looks like class TestClass < ActiveRecord::Base dynamic_method :my_method => "hello" end puts TestClass.new.hello #=> "world!" • drupal + i18n - how to send the currently selected locale to javascript?

    - by egarcia
I've got a multi-lingual Drupal 6 installation. The multi-language is provided by the i18n module. I'm displaying some date pickers using jquery ui's datepicker. I'd like to localize those datepickers too (so when the page being shown is English, they show 'mon tue wed ...' but when the page is in Spanish they show 'lun mar mi ...'). My problem is: I don't know how to send the currently selected locale to javascript. The closest thing I could find was the javascript Drupal.locale object. However that object doesn't seem to have a 'locale name'.

  • Drupal menu item disappears for Anonymous User, I dont want that happening!

    - by Busk
Good day I'm using Drupal 6, and I have a menu item that points to a Forum page. I only want the forums accesible by registered users, but if they aren't logged in/registered I want drupal to display a login/register page. Im using a 403redirect module to handle that, and that is fine. My problem is, I have the menu item pointing to /forum. And when I'm not logged in, the menu item disappears. How can I stop that from happening? Thanks

  • How do you like to define your module-wide variables in drupal 6?

    - by sprugman
I'm in my module file. I want to define some complex variables for use throughout the module. For simple things, I'm doing this: function mymodule_init() { define('SOME_CONSTANT', 'foo bar'); } But that won't work for more complex structures. Here are some ideas that I've thought of: global: function mymodule_init() { $GLOBALS['mymodule_var'] = array('foo' => 'bar'); } variable_set: function mymodule_init() { variable_set('mymodule_var', array('foo' => 'bar')); } property of a module class: class MyModule { static $var = array('foo' => 'bar'); } Variable_set/_get seems like the most "drupal" way, but I'm drawn toward the class setup. Are there any drawbacks to that? Any other approaches out there?
