  My company's router is Zyxel P-320W and I have a public static IP. I registered a few domains name and point to this IP address. I already setup Virtual Hosts and configured port-forwarding to my internal server and it works well. I can connect to all domains from outside The problem is I cannot connect to my domains from inside One workaround way is modify hosts file to add internal IP for those domains, but my company have many computers and I don't want to setup all PC manually

  I have a Citrix Web Interface (as part of XenApp 6.0 on Windows Server 2008 R2) that is behind a NAT, I can access the web interface fine (via both SSL and standard port 80) but when I go to launch a application that connection is still being made over the server's internal IP address. How do I configure the web interface to default to the external IP address of the box instead of its internal LAN IP?

  I am using Windows Server 2012 instead of a router for my home network. Currently I am using RRAS and computers from local network can access Internet correctly. Here is a map of the current setup: [PC1] ---| |---- (lan ip)[Server](wan ip)--> internet [PC2] ---| I have applications running on Server, such as IIS and others. All can be accessed from internet using wan ip and from lan using lan ip. I have a domain, lets say its my-domain.com, which is resolved to my wan ip. What I want is to enable my LAN computers to be able to connect to services on my server using the very same address as internet users: eg http://my-domain.com/. However this does not work for my lan computers. What I understand is that I need to set up some kind of loopback route in a way that packets comming to LAN interface get routed to WAN interface. But I haven't found how to achieve this (in fact, I don't know WHAT to search for). Feel free to ask for additional informations and I will try to update the question.

  I read that browsers sometimes block waiting for multiple images from the same host, and I'm trying to do everything I can to speed up page load times. One caveat: I need to serve files over HTTPS. Any opinions about whether this is feasible: Setup a wildcard cert for *.domain.com. Whenever I need an image, generate an number based on a hash mod 5 of the filename, and append it to an 'img' subdomain (eg img1.domain.com, img4.domain.com, img3.domain.com, etc.); the hash will make any filename always use the same subdomain, and therefore the browser should be able to cache the images Configure a dynamic virtualhost record to point all img#. subdomains to /var/www/img I am looking for feedback about this plan. My concerns are: Will I get warnings when my page has https:// links to multiple subdomains? Is the dynamic virtualhost record I'm talking about even possible? Considering the amount of processing this would require, is it likely to even produce any kind of overall benefit? I'm probably averaging a half-dozen images per page, with only half being changed on each page refresh. Thanks in advance for you feedback.

  i have several subdomains(git.example.org, build.example.org, etc.), i have a router with an external ip and i have several virtual machines on a host computer with internal ips. Now i want to route git.example.org to internal ip 10.0.2.1 and build.example.org to internal ip 10.0.2.2. How can I do this? I setup in the Router that all traffic on port 80 is comming to my host computer with internal ip 10.0.2.3 and installed Squid on that computer. I added the following lines to the squid.conf file: cache_peer 10.0.2.1 parent 80 0 no-query originserver name=server_1 cache_peer_domain server_1 git.example.org cache_peer 10.0.2.2 parent 80 0 no-query originserver name=server_2 cache_peer_domain server_2 build.example.org But this is not working for me. :( Any help appreciated.   I have 10 ip's on a VPS and squid3 installed. I want to lease all of them to 10 co-workers. The authentication should be ip-based. Basically I want to allow only their home ip address (not internal - we're not on a network) to connect to my squid. I would also like to offer them a dedicated ip from my outgoing addresses. I managed to get it working using username/password based authentication but some software do not support that feature so I would like to switch to this limit if possible. Any guidance/sample acl's?

• Windows Server 2008 r2 FTP blocking outside connections

  I have a windows server 2008r2 running IIS 7.5. I am trying to setup a FTP-server in IIS but I'm running into some annoying problems. Setting up the server works fine but when I try to connect from a remote client the connection times out. I have tried to connect to the FTP-server from the localhost and it works flawlessly. I figured that it should be some trouble with the firewall so I went into firewall settings and disabled the Public Profile and my remote connections worked! In my inbound rules there are rules for FTP-connections to allow all profiles etc. I guess they are made automatically when setting up the FTP-server. Anyone got any idea how to allow remote connections without turning off the public firewall?

  When using PDAnet on a PC (Win7 ultimate) to USB tether a Motorola Droid on Verizon 3G the IP address of the PC appears to be public - 64.245.171.115 (64-245-171-115.pools.spcsdns.net) - but connections show as coming from another public IP - 97.14.69.212 (212-sub-97.14.69.myvzw.com). Someone is performing Network Address Translation - either PDAnet or within the Verizon 3G network. Can someone tell me who is doing the NAT? Is it PDAnet or is it at Verizon? Is there any possibility of setting up port forwarding, such that connections to the public IP 97.14.69.212 (212-sub-97.14.69.myvzw.com) are forward to the PC? We are testing a network protocol that requires either a true public IP or forwarding a range of ports from the public Internet to the system on which the software runs (actually Linux hosted by VMware Player or Workstation on a PC running Windows).

  I just installed Debian Wheezy on my homeserver. I want to assign 2 ip's to it on the same network interface, 1 static ip (eth0) and 1 dynamic ip (eth0:1). I know it doesn't make much sense but I need it to test something. I edited my /etc/network/interfaces to be like this: auto lo eth0 eth0:1 iface lo inet loopback iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.178.240 network 192.168.178.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.178.255 gateway 192.168.178.1 iface eth0:1 inet dhcp when I bring up eth0:1 (ifup eth0:1) I get the following error (eth0 works fine) Bind socket to interface: No such device Failed to bring up eth0:1. is it even possible to have a dynamic and static ip on the same network adapter?

  Ok, just wondering if others have experienced the following. We have two websites configured in IIS 6 pointing to two different static IPs for the past couple days website A's IP address began to resolving to website B's ip address. It seemed to happen all of a sudden. When we looked at IIS the IPs looked to be configured correctly but when we would ping the websites both would point to website B's IP. Any ideas?

  We have 5 usable external static IP addresses leased by our ISP: .49 to .53, where .49 is assigned to the Juniper SSG20 firewall and NATed for 172.16.10.0/24 .50 is assigned to a windows box for web server and domain controller .51 is assigned to another windows box with exchange server (domain: mycompany1.com) mx record is pointing to 20x.xx.xxx.51 Currently there is a policy set for all SMTP incoming traffic addressed to .51 forward to the NATed address of the exchange server box (private IP: 172.16.10.194). We can send and receive emails for both internal and external, but the gmail is saying mails from mycomany1.com is not sent from the same IP as the mx lookup however is from 20x.xx.xxx.49: Received-SPF: neutral (google.com: 20x.xx.xxx.49 is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of [email protected]) client-ip=20x.xx.xxx.49; Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=neutral (google.com: 20x.xx.xxx.49 is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of [email protected]) [email protected] and the mx record in global dns space as well as in the domain controller .50 for mail.mycompany1.com is set to 20x.xx.xxx.51 My attempt to resolve the above issue is to Update the mx record from 20x.xx.xxx.51 to 20x.xx.xxx.49 Create a new VIP for SMTP traffic addressed to 20x.xx.xxx.49 to forward to 172.16.10.194 After my changes incoming email stopped working, I believe it has something to do with the Juniper setting that SMTP addressed to .49 is not forwarded to 172.16.10.194 Also, I have been wondering is it mandatory to assign an external static IP address to the Juniper firewall?   Many sites today use widgets from facebook such as the Like button, list of friends who are fans of that site and so on. While it may be a nice feature, I perceive it to be a serious privacy intrusion, because facebook most likely stores information about which sites you visit. I also heard that when you are not logged into facebook, it still tracks the sites you visit (probably with a cookie) and once you log in attaches the data to your real account. For now, I want to keep using facebook, but I would like to block just these widgets so it can't track me. Is there any Firefox extension which could do that?

• APF, IPTABLES, Fedora 15 - Not blocking correctly

  I just got a new remote server which came with Fedora 15. I first tried to run APF but it gave me this error "apf(18031): {glob} unable to load iptables module (ip_tables), aborting.". Which I then set SET_MONOKERN="0" to SET_MONOKERN="1" to resolve the problem. However, with my config file showing BLK_P2P_PORTS="1214,2323,4660_4678,6257,6699,6346,6347,6881_6889,6346,7778" The ports show up as closed, instead of being filtered. • Router not assigning an IP address after installing OS X 10.6

  I recently installed Mac OS X 10.6, however the ethernet state is down. The assigned IP is 169.x.x.x. When booted the live USB of Ubuntu, I properly get an IP assigned in the range 192.168.1.x from the router 192.168.1.1 I am using the same router and same ethernet line. I tried to ping to 192.168.1.1 from my Mac and I get a host down message. I tried to manually assign the IP and set the router IP to 192.168.1.1 but still the router is unreachable.

  I want to use a vpn connection on my Debian server but I get disconnected from ssh if I connect to the vpn. I thought by using the "ip route add" I can prevent getting disconnected from my server and it will continue to use the main connection for communication between my computer and the server, and the vpn for communication with other ips. This is the command I use ip route add PUBLICHOMEIP via PUBLICSERVERIP But I get disconnected after the "ip route add" command too. Am I making a mistake anywhere?

• Set up Ubuntu in Virtualbox to have static ip

  I frequently work in different locations, and need to have a virtualbox version of Ubuntu server running locally. While I was at home getting it set up, I was able to ssh into the server using the locally allocated IP address. However, now that I'm elsewhere, ifconfig is still showing the old 10.0.x.x ip address, but instead of being in the 10.0.x.x space, my laptop's ip starts with 192.168.x.x With that in mind, if there a straightforward way to set up the virtual box Ubuntu server in such a way that I can just connect using "ssh servername" regardless of it's ip address?
