• Why can a struct defined inside a function not be used as functor to std::for_each?

  The following code won't compile. The compiler complains about *no matching function for call to for_each*.   I want to make a generic BST, that can be made up of any data type, but i'm not sure how I could add things to the tree, if my BST is generic. All of my needed code is below. I want my BST made up of Locations, and sorted by the x variable. Any help is appreciated. • Changing name attr of cloned input element in jQuery doesn't work in IE6/7

Or do I really have to grab back to document.createElement? Note: I know that I can use just the same name for each input element and retrieve them as an array, but the above is just a basic example, in real I really need to have the name attribute changed, because it not only contains the index, but also other information such as parentindex, ordering, etc. It's been used to add/rearrange/remove (sub)menu items. Edit: this is related to this bug, The jQuery (I'm using 1.3.2) does thus not seem to create inputs that way? • Jquery fade and swap an element when clicked which will also relate to an accordian menu

  You will notice when you click posture 1 the description drops down and images appear on the right. Now when you click posture 2 or posture 3 the images and description change as they should. What I need to do now is - If posture 1 has been clicked and then posture 2 is clicked the posture 1 menu needs to close so that there is only one posture description visible at one time. If I could also make it so that if the current open posture item is clicked so that it closes and there are no open posture descriptions that there also no images displayed on the right. Finally is there a way to make sure only one set of animation images is running, because just say the user goes through all 26 options and they continue to run in the background it may get sluggish (thanks to Nick Craver for bringing that up). At this stage only posture 1, 2 and 3 are available. • xml schema putting both sequence and all under one complexType node

  Here is the xml file: <section> <number>1</number> <title>A Title goes here...</title> <code>TheCode</code> <element></element> <element></element> </section> In section node, there are number, title and code node. Their sequence must not be fixed. Then, there are multiple element under section node as well. The idea is to use the following schema: <xs:complexType name="Type-section"> <xs:all> <xs:element name="number" minOccurs="0"></xs:element> <xs:element name="code" minOccurs="1"></xs:element> <xs:element name="title" minOccurs="1"></xs:element> </xs:all> <xs:sequence> <xs:element maxOccurs="unbounded" name="element"></xs:element> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> But it is invalid. I just cant put "sequence" and "all" together in the same level. How can i fix it?

• CSS: Centering a floated block level element in IE6 (It almost works)

  I have a block level element which I am centering on the page. I have gotten it to work for all other browsers except IE6 where it ALMOST works. http://tinyurl.com/28sh9eq If I view the page in IE6 the red box is slightly off center of the pink one in IE. If I then resize the browser window it snaps into place where I want it. Uhhhhh.... yea.... what gives? How come resizing the window makes it work?   I mocked up my intended outcome. So the blue element is the main content of the website and the yellow element represents something like a diagram or an image that has a greater width than the blue element. Ideally, I would like a purely CSS solution that is able to deal with various sizes of images. I have tried various things but have failed so far. I hope you can help! • XML transform element appearing in wrong place in document

  I am having some problems with an XML transform and need some help. The stylesheet should iterate through all suffix elements and place the contents without the suffix tag next to the last text node within its first ancestor quote-block element (see desired ouput). It works when only a single suffix is present, but not when 2 are present, when 2 are present it places both suffixes next to each other in the last text node of the first quote-block. Any ideas? I have tried limiting the selections to ancestor::quote-block[1] in various places but that doesn't have the desired effect.   I'm trying to use jQuery to insert HTML into a table element. I've been messing variations of the selector (below) with no luck. Can someone help me? • Can't clone file-input element in Safari and Chrome. FF and Opera are OK

  This is very strange. I've got a simple form. I have a file input element outside this form. User clicks the file input element and selects a file. I clone the file input using this code: $('input[name="song[attachment]"]').clone(true).appendTo('form') In all browsers: FF, Opera, Safari, Chrome, when I inspect the form element, I see the cloned file input element inside the form. However, when I submit the form in FF and Opera it works. Safari and Chrome submits the form with an empty file input. I notice when the file input element is cloned and appended to the form element, it doesn't copy over its values. It only clones an empty input file element. Is this normal? Is there something wrong with my Jquery code? Or is this a security issue and that's why Safari and Chrome are not allowing me to do this? If the latter, why is FF and Opera doing otherwise?

• Need some help with my XML Schema.

  I'm using Qt C++ and am reading in an XML file for data. I want to ensure the XML file contains valid elements, so I began to write an XML Schema to validate against (Qt doesn't support validating against a DTD). The problem is, I'm not sure if my Schema itself is valid, and I can't seem to find an actual XSD validator. I tried using the official w3c validator at http://www.w3.org/2001/03/webdata/xsv, but it's giving me blank output. • Loading XML file containing leading zeros with SSIS preserving the zeros

  Visiting the MSDN SQL Server Integration Services Forum oftentimes I could see that people would pop up asking this question: “why I am not able to load an element from an XML file that contains zeros so the leading/trailing zeros would remain intact?”. I started to suspect that such a trivial and often-required operation perhaps is being misunderstood by the developer community. I would also like to add that the whole state of affairs surrounding the XML today is probably also going to be increasingly affected by a motion of people who dislike XML in general and many aspects of it as XSD and XSLT invoke a negative reaction at best. Nevertheless, XML is in wide use today and its importance as a bridge between diverse systems is ever increasing. Therefore, I deiced to write up an example of loading an arbitrary XML file that contains leading zeros in one of its elements using SSIS so the leading zeros would be preserved keeping in mind the goal on simplicity into a table in SQL Server database. To start off bring up your BIDS (running as admin) and add a new Data Flow Task (DFT). This DFT will serve as container to adding our XML processing elements (besides, the XML Source is not available anywhere else other than from within the DFT). Double-click your DFT and drag and drop the XMS Source component from the Tool Box’s Data Flow Sources. Now, let the fun begin! Being inspired by the upcoming Christmas I created a simple XML file with one set of data that contains an imaginary SSN number of Rudolph containing several leading zeros like 0000003. This file can be viewed here. To configure the XML Source of course it is quite intuitive to point it to our XML file, next what the XML source needs is either an embedded schema (XSD) or it can generate one for us. Now please note that the SSN element’s data type was chosen to be of unsignedByte (and this is for a reason). The reason is stemming from the fact all our figures in the element are digits, this is good, but this is not exactly what we need, because if we will attempt to load the data with this XSD then we are going to either get errors on the destination or most typically lose the leading zeros. So the next intuitive choice is to change the data type to string. Besides, if a SSIS package was already created based on this XSD and the data type change was done thereafter, one should re-set the metadata by right-clicking the XML Source and choosing “Advanced Editor” in which there is a refresh button at the bottom left which will do the trick. So far so good, we are ready to load our XML file, well actually yes, and no, in my experience typically some data conversion may be required. So depending on your data destination you may need to tweak the data types targeted. Let’s add a Data Conversion Task to our DFT. Your package should look like: To make the story short I only will cover the SSN field, so in my data source the target SQL Table has it as nchar(10) and we chose string in our XSD (yes, this is a big difference), under such circumstances the SSIS will complain. So will go and manipulate on the data type of SSN by making it Unicode String (DT_WSTR), World String per se. The conversion should look like: The peek at the Metadata: We are almost there, now all we need is to configure the destination. For simplicity I chose SQL Server Destination. The mapping is a breeze, F5 and I am able to insert my data into SQL Server now! Checking the zeros – they are all intact!

• Help with CSS - getting an element to fill 100% of the remaining vertical space

  Hi folks I'd consider myself a reasonable standard CSS/XHTML chap but I'm pretty baffled by this. The problem is available here: http://furnace.howcode.com - (note that the site is still in development, most stuff doesn't work, and it's likely to change fairly quickly as it is updated often). Basically I've got a fluid layout that needs to work in the same proportions on any resolution. Here's a screenshot of how the designer invisioned it (I apologise for my Paint-tool anotations): I want the tabs and the search box to STAY at the top of Col2, whilst there should be a scrollable area beneath it where the results are returned. I want NO vertical viewport scrolling, only within the 100%-height area thingy. My problem is this. If you take a look at http://furnace.howcode.com, you'll see that I've got a bit of a problem. I've made a placeholder black-background div which I will turn into the Tabs shortly. However I want the Col2 div to float BENEATH this and fill 100% of the remaining vertical height (i.e. go to the bottom of the screen, nomatter what the resolution is) and Col3 to be in the place where Col2 currently has been put (it normally is there automatically, when Col2 is in the right place!). I hope that makes sense. If you need to me to clarify please just ask. Cheers! Jack
