  I have waste millions of hours clicking the Ignore Once button in Word, while trying to spell check a document related to development. Be that something light on terms like a proposal or something worse like technical specs. I'm beginning to think that this is a huge waste and someone may have developed a dictionary for Word with common development terms that I could add and no longer have this problem. Does such a dictionary exist or is there some other tricks to use to improve this process?

  I have Windows 7 RTM, Office 2007 SP1, and a computer with English and Hebrew languages installed. In most programs (e.g. notepad), left ALT-SHIFT switches from Hebrew to English and vice versa. In word, it also usually works, but sometimes pressing left ALT-SHIFT just won't do anything. Is this a bug in Windows ? Word?

Often I wish to scroll the document with mouse middle button scroll wheel, however, if the mouse is hovering over the ribbon, the tabs of the ribbon are scrolled instead, this is never what I want. Is there a way to disable mouse wheel scrolling the ribbon and instead have it scroll the document?

  Hi, I am using Word 2010 and some built-in features with fields, such as bibliography. My Word installation is English and I am writing a report in US English. However, my computer has its locale set to Denmark. This affects the formatting of dates and some of the text in the auto-generated fields (e.g. in bibliography it says "citeret:" instead of "cited:").   I've got a word document I'm trying to save to an uneditable, unselectable PDF file. Essentially, I'd like it to look like a JPEG, but in PDF format. I'm trying to avoid "printing to tiff, THEN printing to PDF." I'd prefer to go directly from Word to PDF. Additionally, I don't want to add a Password or anything. Does an option exist for this?   I'm using Windows 7 Basic and Microsoft Office 2007 and I write word documents using not English characters (a, t, s). When I give them to other people, these special characters show up as squares. Anybody knows why, is there a fix for this ?

  I've noticed recently that Microsoft Word 2007 on Windows XP is opening by default straight text files as RTL instead of LTR. These are English written files, and contain no Unicode or characters other than ASCII. I work in three or four languages on the computer so have the language bar open, this problem happens when the language is selected to EN (United Kingdom). Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere, perhaps in Word itself?

• Large quotation marks in Word?

  Is there a simple way in MS Word to get large quotation marks tightly round a paragraph of text, like you might see in print media to mark a quote? If you simply increase the font size of the quote character, it moves too far away from the text it's accompanying. Worse, the first and last lines start to detach from the rest of the paragraph.   I have a friend who is trying to view a Word document, consisting of a large table (nothing to do with me), that was fine until today. Whenever they scroll down past a certain limit, the content on the page is replicated once and after that the table cells are blank. The view also switches to Normal· They think that the document was last opened in OpenOffice (version 3.3.0, which opens the document fine now), could this cause it? Its Word 2000. What can we do?

  I often come into the following situation: Get an email with attachment in MS Outlook Open that attachment in MS Word Starting to edit the document in MS Word Start replying to the email in MS Outlook Getting the edited document into my reply I have to save that file to disk and then drag it as attachment. I would think of a short way to get that document as attachement in the newly generated email. Is there a way to implement a save location as clipboard or just a copy to clipboard (the document, not the content)?

I'm assuming most of those exploits rely on some kind of active content, I've heard that Reader allows JavaScript for example. I already have antivirus, but I've heard they often don't catch those types of exploits, so I want to try a little proactive defense.   Hiya, I am experiencing problems when opening some word documents. The filename will randomly automatically change to the temp file that is created whilst editing the document. I know how to insert caption for a picture, but I'm not sure as to how can I do that for a table or some miscellaus object, in a way that I can get a list of them all afterwards ?
