  • Calling javascript function with arguments using JSNI

    I'm trying to integrate Mixpanel with GWT, but I have problems calling an event with a property and one value. My function to track an simple event (without values): public native void trackEvent(String eventName)/*-{ $wnd.mixpanel.track(eventName); }-*/; It works. But when I want to add some properties and values, it doesn't work properly: public native void trackComplexEvent(String eventName, String property, String value)/*-{ $wnd.mixpanel.track(eventName, {property:value}); }-*/; I have 2 problems with this: 1) Mixpanel says the property name is: "property"(yes, the name of the variable that I'm passing, not the value). 2) Mixpanel says the value is:undefined An example from mixpanel web is: mixpanel.track("Video Play", {"age": 13, "gender": "male"}); So, I guess the problem is I'm doing a wrong call or with wrong type of arguments.

  • What is the easiest way to get the property value from a passed lambda expression in an extension me

    I am writing a dirty little extension method for HtmlHelper so that I can say something like HtmlHelper.WysiwygFor(lambda) and display the CKEditor. I have this working currently but it seems a bit more cumbersome than I would prefer. I am hoping that there is a more straight forward way of doing this.     I have a JComboBox on my Panel. One of the popup menu items is 'More' and when I click that I fetch more menu items and add them to the existing list. After this, I wish to keep the popup menu open so that the user realizes that more items have been fetched however, the popup closes.     Suppose I have the following data model: Entity Person Attribute name String Attribute personType String Attribute dailyRecords Entity CarpenterDailyRecord Attribute numberOfNailsHammered Int Attribute picNameOfFinishedCabinet String Entity WindowWasherDailyRecord Attribute nameOfBuildingWashed String Attribute numberOfWindowsWashed Int I would like to establish a to-many relationship between the Person.dailyRecords and 1 of the daily record entities (which changes depending on the person type). Of course, i could create a CarpenterPerson and WindowWasher entity which each points to it's unique daily record structure, but i have to group people together in my app somehow. so if i do a Group Entity: Entity Group Attribute people array i'm still stuck. how do i point to multiple & different Person entities? There must be an obvious answer, it's just i'm so new to all of this. thanks!

  • BufferedReader no longer buffering after a while?

    Sorry I can't post code but I have a bufferedreader with 50000000 bytes set as the buffer size. It works as you would expect for half an hour, the HDD light flashing every two minutes or so, reading in the big chunk of data, and then going quiet again as the CPU processes it. But after about half an hour (this is a very big file), the HDD starts thrashing as if it is reading one byte at a time. It is still in the same loop and I think I checked free ram to rule out swapping (heap size is default). Probably won't get any helpful answers, but worth a try. OK I have changed heap size to 768mb and still nothing. There is plenty of free memory and java.exe is only using about 300mb. Now I have profiled it and heap stays at about 200MB, well below what is available. CPU stays at 50%. Yet the HDD starts thrashing like crazy. I have.. no idea. I am going to rewrite the whole thing in c#, that is my solution.   • mocking command object in grails controller results in hasErrors() return false no matter what! Plea

    I have a controller that uses a command object in a controller action. When mocking this command object in a grails' controller unit test, the hasErrors() method always returns false, even when I am purposefully violating its constraints. def save = { RegistrationForm form -> if(form.hasErrors()) { // code block never gets executed } else { // code block always gets executed } } In the test itself, I do this: mockCommandObject(RegistrationForm) def form = new RegistrationForm(emailAddress: "ken.bad@gmail", password: "secret", confirmPassword: "wrong") controller.save(form) I am purposefully giving it a bad email address, and I am making sure the password and the confirmPassword properties are different. In this case, hasErrors() should return true... but it doesn't.   • Is there a reason why a base class decorated with XmlInclude would still throw a type unknown exception when serialized?

    I will simplify the code to save space but what is presented does illustrate the core problem. I have a class which has a property that is a base type. There exist 3 dervived classes which could be assigned to that property. If I assign any of the derived classes to the container then the XmlSerializer throws dreaded "The type xxx was not expected. Use the XmlInclude or SoapInclude attribute to specify types that are not known statically." exception when attempting to seralize the container. However my base class is already decorated with that attribute so I figure there must be an additional "hidden" requirement. The really odd part is that the default WCF serializer has no issues with this class hierarchy. I looked at the DataServiceContext to see if it would work and it does but it uses XML to communicate between the restful services and the client. Which would work but DataServiceContext does not give the level of messaging that HttpRequestMessage/HttpResponseMessage gives me for informing users on the errors/missing information with their post. We are planning on supporting multiple devices from our restful services platform but that requires that I can use NewtonSoft Json as well as Microsoft's DataContractJsonSerializer if need be. My question is for a restful service standpoint - is there a way I can configure/code the restful services to take in the AssignedNbr as in JSON as without the quotes. Or from a JSON standpoint is their a way I can get the JSON built without getting into the serializing business nor do I want our clients to have deal with custom serializers if they want to write their own apps against our restful services. The domain object is something like this: public class Settings { private String key; private String value; public String getKey() { ... } public String getValue() { ... } public void setKey() { ... } public void setValue() { ... } } The standard approach is to generate a Setting for each pair, and saveOrUpdate() it. But it generates way too much queries, because I need to save lots of settings at a time, and it really affects perfomance. Is there a way to do this using one update query?

It seems that assigning a "ref parameter" to a field loses the reference. Is there any way to keep hold of the reference when assigning to a field? Thanks.
