  • What programming language is FogBugz written in?

    From what I've read it appears that FogBugz was originally written in VBScript. Now apparently they use their own custom compiler and language that will translate the source code to more "accessible" languages such as PHP and (I think) C#. Is there a name for this language? What does a hello world look like in it? Is there any hope of seeing this compiler released to the public?

  • How to force a textField to become editable?

    I have a custom tableViewCell with a UITextLabel inside it. When the cell is first displayed, the place holder is shown and then disappears when the user types something in. What I want is to go back to the parent view, and then to the sub view again, and that the field will show the text that the user previously typed. If I set the text field, simply with setText, the textField is not editable. Any idea?

  • MSI not running the current version of the code in .NET Setup project.

    I'm not sure what happened, but my installer is in a weird state--when I install my MSI, it doesn't seem to be running the current version of the code (I'm using Custom Actions). I verified it by placing some MessageBox.Shows and sure enough, they are not popping up. It's possible I may have had a few unsuccessful installs previously which may have put the installer in a bad state...but how do I go about resolving this? Thanks...

  • ASP.Net - How do I allow users to enter html tags in textbox without runtime errors?

    I have an input textbox on an asp.net page and when a user inputs any tags like break tags or bold an error occurs. I currently am using the following to encode the input: Server.HtmlEncode(mytextbox.Text) However this only encodes characters when they aren't phrased as an html tag, like if the input is "<<<" is there a way for me to allow the user to put the tags in without it leading to a runtime error?     Trying to optimize my MUI 2 NSIS setup in which I do some ExecWait calls in the .onInstSuccess callback function, I was searching through the documentation to find a callback that is called: after the files are all copied -and- before the wizard page is being switched from the file copy page to the finish page. Unfortunately, I found no such callback. Therefore my question is: Is it possible to do some custom processing after the files are copied and before the wizard page is being switched away from the file copy page?

  • Localized Android app without using "res" folder. Is there a downside?

    I am developing a game with Unity 3D and want to use custom code to get strings in the various languages I will be supporting. I've read articles about using the Android "res/values-xx/" directories (such as this page: http://developer.android.com/training/basics/supporting-devices/languages.html). If I do not store my translated strings in this way is there a downside? My main concern is whether the Google Play store may not know what languages my app is localized for.

  • How to stop attributes from being pickled in Python

    I am using gnosis.xml.pickle to convert an object of my own class to xml. The object is initialized so that: self.logger = MyLogger() But when I do dump the object to a string I get an exception stating that the pickler encountered an unpickleable type . Is there a way to 'tag' the logger attribute so that pickler will know not to try and pickle that attribute?
