  • Spring MVC validation with Annotations

    A friend of mine works in a small team where the developers (Java and .net), who currently use SVN for their source control, are about to have MKS Integrity forced upon them. My friend would like to keep an open mind but I suspect that secretly he wants to stay with SVN.   • C# / asp.net: What are your views on .net email components/suites out there?

    Found two libraries Rebex (www.rebex.net) and QuikSoft (www.quiksoft.com) any comments on these based on experience or other ones I havent not found? Looking for components that will use SMTP to send a lot of emails for general email notificatins and bulk mailshots. Built in templating would be nice. Also need to receive emails from various accounts. Having the ability to validate and check bounce backs etc would be good for reporting (appreciating that this isnt 100% effective)

  • Visual studio 2010 ajax control toolkit tab container

    Hi. We just upgraded to visual studio 2010 RC1 and all of a sudden our controls inside tabcontainer disappeared from the designer file. Actually, it all seemed good in the beginning, the project compiled nicely, but as soon as we did any change in the markup of a page and build the code for the controls inside the tabcontainer disappeared and we got errormessages like so "Error 3 The name 'ddlPeriodicityStartInMonth' does not exist in the current context " Does anyone know if any changes are made to tabcontainer to visual studio 2010 or if this just is a bug? Thanks in advance.

    Quick yes/no - I'm building an AJAX application and some scripts require authentication. Can I read $_COOKIE['username'] and $_COOKIE['password'] on the server if the PHP script was called via XHR, whether that be $.get() or $.post()? Side question: Can it also set cookies? Is that considered "good practice"?

    In my application, I want to stream videos shot on an iPhone, *.movie files, from a server running on a Mac desktop to an iPhone or iPad client. What are some possible open source servers that do this that are small enough to be shipped or embedded with a downloadable Mac app? There is a product StreamToMe by Matt Gallagher that does this. I noticed a lot of open source alternatives like ffmpeg, VideoLan, and the like but I not sure which one would be good for the Mac.

    I'm walking into a project with 500+ classes, and am wondering if anyone has had good experiences with automated modeling tools that can import from ASP.Net /C#? I can find some really good parsers for markdown and bbcode but am having trouble with finding a decent wiki parser. I prefer markdown myself, but I'm writing post functions for a CMS and I'd like to give end-users a choice. I thought about downloading a copy of MediaWiki and seeing how they do it, thoughts on this as an option?
