• Absolute Centering Not Working in IE

  I have the following problem. I have a td which I need to add other three elements inside (span,div,p, or any other suggestion) in order to align the three elements inside one next to each other (the content of this elements is text). If all the elements contains a single line of text, then everything its fine. The problem comes when the first to are single line of text and third element contains more than one line of text, then text of third element it would go under first element, but I need it to go under third element. eg. Output desired. Title on element1: (subtitle on element 2) Text on element 3 with several lines of text. Actual output. • Dynamically change embedded video src in IE/Chrome (works in Firefox)

  I'm trying to dynamically change an embedded video on a page. It's working in Firefox but for some reason it's not working in IE and Chrome (strange combination). • fastest way to check to see if a certain index in a linq statement is null

  Basic Details I have a linq statement that grabs some records from a database and puts them in a System.Linq.Enumerable: var someRecords = someRepoAttachedToDatabase.Where(p=>true); Suppose this grabs tons (25k+) of records, and i need to perform operations on all of them. to speed things up, I have to decided to use paging and perform the operations needed in blocks of 100 instead of all of the records at the same time. The Question The line in question is the line where I count the number of records in the subset to see if we are on the last page; if the number of records in subset is less than the size of paging - then that means there are no more records left. What I would like to know is what is the fastest way to do this? • FTP exception 501 "pathname" more than 8 characters

  I am trying to access a file via a URI using the FTP protocol. For obvious security reasons I had to make some changes but this is where the problems seem to be coming from. My URI is as follows: ftp://user:[email protected]/u/Bigpathname/XYZ/ABC/BigPathname/bigpathname/xyz/abc/MY_LOG.LOG And I see this exception: sun.net.ftp.FtpProtocolException: CWD Bigpathname:501 A qualifier in "Bigpathname" is more than 8 characters This is really confusing as I can access the file from a Windows 7 command line with the CD command just fine. Both one directory at a time and as a full path. I found one article mentioning that MVS file names must be 8 or fewer characters but this does not explain how I can get to these same files from my command line! They do exist there is data there that I can download manual but I can not get there via a URI in Java. PS I use .toURL().openStream() to get files on my local machine just fine, it only fails when I try to get them from my server. EDIT October 1st I am able to access files on the MVS host using FileZilla and the basic FTP client from the Windows 7 command line - but I still cannot get them from a URI/URL. I downloaded a very basic Java built FTP client and tried accessing the same file in my program from there and the path works but because my file name has a dot in it "MY_LOG.LOG" I am getting File does not exist 501 Invalid data set name "MY_LOG.LOG". Use MVS Dsname conventions. I am utterly perplexed by this...

  I was playing with progress bar customization in Silverlight application. What I want to reach is to have progress bar label to show current its state in the following format: "Value / Maximum". So, user will see what is the current value, and what is the maximum possible value. It does work properly, if it is written like above. However, I also need to provide ConverterParameter for Convertor, but not sure how to make it. When I write like this: , ConvertParameter={Binding Maximum}, it shows error on start, that Text attribute is not found in TextBlock. I was also trying to set DataContext as {RelativeSource Self}, but then it didn't displays error that DataContext attribute is not found. How to make the described progress bar label properly?

• python interactive mode module import issue

  I believe I have what would be called a scope issue, perhaps name space. Not too sure I'm new to python. I'm trying to make a module that will search through a list using regular expressions. I'm sure there is a better way of doing it but this error that I'm getting is bugging me and I want to understand why. here's my code: class relist(list): def __init__(self, l): list.__init__(self, l) def __getitem__(self, rexp): r = re.compile(rexp) res = filter(r.match, self) return res if __name__ == '__main__': import re listl = [x+y for x in 'test string' for y in 'another string for testing'] print(listl) test = relist(listl) print('----------------------------------') print(test['[s.]']) When I run this code through the command line it works the way I expect it to; however when I run it through python interactive mode I get the error >>> test['[s.]'] Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "relist.py", line 8, in __getitem__ r = re.compile(rexp) NameError: global name 're' is not defined While in the interactive mode I do import re and I am able to use the re functions, but for some reason when I'm trying to execute the module it doesn't work. Do I need to import re into the scope of the class? I wouldn't think so because doesn't python search through other scopes if it's not found in the current one? I appreciate your help, and if there is a better way of doing this search I would be interested in knowing. Thanks

  Hi, I need to access some data from an MS Access database and retrieve some data from it using PHP. How do I automatically get the lastrow / column in my source data so I dont get any blanks. • Setting initial state of a JSF component to invalid

  Hi there I have a small JSF application where the user is required to enter some data about themselves. For each component on the page that has required="true" I want to show an icon depending if there is data in the field or not. My problem is that when the page is initially shown all fields are valid, even if they do not have any data in them. So my question is how I can set a component to be invalid based on if there is data in the field or not? After a submit of the page (or after the component loses focus) the icon is shown properly, it is only on the initial page load I have a problem. • How to parse multiple dates from a block of text in Python (or another language)

  I have a string that has several date values in it, and I want to parse them all out. The string is natural language, so the best thing I've found so far is dateutil. PS - I guess I could recursively split the input file in the middle and try, try again until it works, but it's a hell of a hack.

However, I'm sure that over time, I'd like to be able to offer the option to view not only the frequency of visited sites, but also other members of LogLine (things like the frequency of assigned categories, accessed types [text/html, img/jpeg, etc...] filter verdicts, and so on). Ideally, I'd like to avoid writing individual methods for compilation of data for each of those types, and they could each end up looking nearly identical to the getFrequencyOfVisitedSites() method. So, my question is twofold: first, can you see anywhere where this method should be improved, from a mechanical standpoint? And secondly, how would you make this method more generic, so that it might be able to handle an arbitrary set of data?

• Storing strings from a text file/scanner. Array or built-in?

  This code snippet is to to read a text file, turn the lines into objects through a different public (non changeable) class(externalClass). The external class does nothing but turn strings (lines from the .txt through nextLine) into objects, and is fully functional. The scanner(scanner3) is assigned to the text file. while (scanner3.hasNext()) { externalClass convertedlines = new externalClass(scanner3.nextLine()); I'm not new to programming, but as I'm new to java, I do not know if this requires me to create an array, or if the returned objects are sorted in some other way. i.e is the "importedlines" getting overwritten with each run of the loop(and I need to introduce an array into the loop), or are the objects stored in some way? The question may seem strange, but with the program I am making it would be harder (but definitely not impossible) if I used an array. Any help would be appreciated. • Strange offset space between <button> as parent container and <div> as child.

  I need to decorate a standard html button. The base element I took <button> instead of <input>, cos I decided that the element must be a parent container. And there is child element <div> in it. This <div> element will be been the core element for decoration, and should occupy the entire space of the parent element - button. <button> <div>*decoration goes here*</div> </button> And within Cascading Style Sheets it might be looks like this: css button { margin: 0; border: 0; padding: 0; width: *150*px; height: *50*px; position: relative; } div { margin: 0; border: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; background: *black*; position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; } html <button type="button"> <div>*decoration goes here*</div> </button> So, Opera(10) is doing well, webkits Chrome(6) and Safari(4) is doing also well, but Internet Explorer(8) is bad - DOM Inspector shows some strange Offset space in top and left, FireFox(3) is also bad - DOM Inspector shows that <div> get some negative value in css-property right: and bottom:. Even if this property will set to zero(0) DOM-Inspector still shows same negative value. I almost broke my brain. Help me, solve this problem, please!

  Hello! I have a class in c++ in order to write log files for an application of mine. I have already built the class and it works, it is something like this: class Logger { std::string _filename; public: void print(std::string tobeprinted); } Well, it is intuitive that, in order to print a line in the log file, for an object of Logger, it is simply necessary to do the following: Logger mylogger("myfile.log"); mylogger.print(std::string("This is a log line")); Well. Using a method approach is not the same as using a much better pattern like << is. I would like to do the following: Logger mylogger("myfile.log"); mylogger << "This is a log line"; That's all. I suppose I must overload the << operator... But overloading using this signature (the classic one): ostream& operator<<(ostream& output, const MyObj& o); But I do not have a ostream... So, should I do as follows? Logger& operator<<(Logger& output, const std::string& o); Is this the right way? Thanks

• How can I create an Assembly program WITHOUT using libraries?

  Hello. I've literally only just started looking to learn Assembly language. I'm using the NASM assembler on Windows Vista. Usually, when I begin to learn a new language, I'll copy someone else's Hello World code and try to understand it line-by-line. However, I'm finding it suprisingy difficult to find a Hello World program that doesn't reference other libraries! You see, there's no point trying to understand each line of the code if it is closely linked with a whole library of additional code! One of the reasons I want to learn Assembly is so that I can have near complete control over the programs I write. I don't want to be depending on any libraries. And so my question is this: Can anyone give me NASM-compatible Assembly code to a completely stand-alone Hello World program that can output to the Windows Vista console? Alternatively, I appreciate that a library may be required to tell the pogram WHERE to print the output (ie. the Windows console). Other than that, I can't see why any libraries should be required. Am I overlooking anything?

• Javafx Layout problem with VBox & HBoxes
