• How do I set the next available custom color in the ColorDialog?

  I'm currently coding in VB.net. A user places the cursor in a table cell and clicks on "Table Background Color" to edit the current background colour. Currently I have been able to detect the current colour (for instance a light blue) and set that colour in the ColorDialog (Colour swatches are correct and RGB values are correct). What I would like to do is enable the user to click on the "Add to Custom Colors" to save the colour. Problem is, it sets the first square in the custom colours area (which happens to already be filled in with another custom colour), rather than finding the next square that is white and set it there instead. Is this possible? If the user selects a new custom colour square when they first load the ColorDialog, the current colour (light blue) disappears and the colour swatches and RGB values are set as white. Thanks

Now I'm at the point where I do alot of text info such as help texts, eula, privacy policy etc. I realized that I'm not sure what would the best way to store these texts. 1. Directly in the aspx page 2. In text files and then load the text via ViewData[] to the aspx file 3. In my sql database If use option 3 how would I then design the database e.g. eula = table x, privacypolicy=table y? I guess I just need some directions of what't the pros and cons with the options above.

  Hello, I execute a select to get the structure of a table. I want to get info about the columns like its name or if it's null or if it's primary key.. I do something like this ....sys.columns c... c.precision, c.scale, c.is_nullable as isnullable, c.default_object_id as columndefault, c.is_computed as iscomputed, but for default value i get the id..something like 454545454 but i want to get the value "xxxx". What is the table to search or what is the function to convert that id to the value. Thanks

• Linq to sql Error "Data at the root level is invalid " for nullable xml column

In further investigation I come to know that the meta column is null in that case. In real it is nullable Do I have to remove the nullable and set some blank root node as default or there is some another way to get rid of the error. • Why is my iPhone SDK 3.2 iPad code showing a white screen?

  I'm trying to get a UISplitViewController working with an iPad app. I have the table view controller linked up under the Master pane and a plain UIView under the Detail view. I also have [window addSubview:splitView.view]; in my code. For some reason I just get a white screen even though the table view controller code is properly coded and linked under my nib. Table Pattern and Domain Model are example of such patterns. Also we have found Domain Driven Design as well. Earlier we decided to build Entities against table objects. • Implementing full text search on iPhone?

  I'm looking for suggestions on the best way to implement a full-text search on some static data on the iPhone. Basically I have an app that contains the offline version of a web site, about 50MB of text, and I'd like for users to be able to search for terms. I figure that I should somehow build an table of ("word", reference_to_file_containing_word) or something, put that into either Core Data or just sqlite, index the "word" column, then have the search facility search the table for search terms and take the intersection of the sets of results for the terms or something. That wouldn't allow people to search for phrases but it would be pretty easy and probably not too slow. I'd like to just use existing SDK features for this. Should I use Core Data or sqlite? Does anyone have any other ideas on how this could be done?

• Using CSS, how can I make overflow:visible; contents overlap adjacent <td> cells?

  I have the following CSS style code for my table: td { overflow: hidden; white-space:nowrap; } td:hover { overflow: visible; } However, when I hover over a <td> element whos contents (text) are hidden, the result is that the contents become visible but are behind the content of the adjacent cell (right side). I do not think that z-index can be applied to table cell elements, so is there a CSS attribute that I can specify within my td:hover style which will make the content of my <td> tag overlap the content in adjacent cells?

  I have a table with a column using utf8_unicode_ci character set. This table stores Japanese data and my problem is that using this character set, I'm not able to store the same word written in katakana and hiragana because it's considered to be the same word. For example ??? and ???, which mean I, me. I know that I can change the character set to utf8_general_ci to resolve this problem but is it possible to bypass this limitation ? I mean, keep utf8_unicode_ci character set and make those two words be inserted? Is it possible to make this work using CONVERT or CAST operators? Thanks.

  I have a user system set up in a 'users' table, and I have groups set up in a 'groups' table. Essentially, I want users to be able to join any and all the groups that they want, in the same was as one would on facebook. How would one go about structuring this in a mysql/php database system? Just a quick summary would be helpful! I've looked around, but I can only find info on creating 'groups' where the users just have a sort of 1, 2 or 3 permission rank. Thanks!

I am new to servlets please guide me When a user clicks the "go " button with some input. The data goes to the servlet say "Test3". The servlet processes the data by the user and generates/feeds the data table dynamically Then I call the html page to draw the chart as shown in the tutorial link above. Then when i manually call the html page to draw the chart i am see the chart. But when I call html page directly using the request dispatcher via the servlet I dont get the result. • Mixing a4 and a3 in one Latex file

  Hello, I am finishing my thesis and have a large appendix. Some tables only look good, if first done on a3 and then (paper)printed on a4. Anyhow, working all the files seperalty is fine, but I struggle to compile all in one. I use the geometry package and start the document with: \usepackage[a4paper,left=30mm,right=20mm,top=20mm, bottom=20mm]{geometry} For the appendix, I want to include the table and use \newgeometry{a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm} However, the command is completely ignored and I can read "a3paper,left=25mm,right=15mm, top=15mm, bottom=15mm" above the table. What did I miss? Is it even possible? If not, how do I get the numbers right, if I have to include it as a pdf (which works)? Thanks!

  Hi, I am using a FormView in an online quiz page for displaying the questions and RadioButtons (for answers) http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2438219/online-quiz-using-asp-dot-net Now, I need to pick the questions according to a TestID and a particular Set of that Test. The testid and the set_number would be passed using Session variables. I'm having 3 testIDs and 3 Sets per TestID and, thus, am using 9 tables to store the Questions, the Options and the correct answer. I need help on how to set the FormView so that it extracts the questions from a particular table only. Do I need to use a StoredProcedure ? If yes, how? PS: If I use only one table to store all the questions from each Set and for each TestID, I can do that, but I'd prefer using separate tables.

  I'm having problems using params in the ORDER BY section of my SQL. It doesn't issue any warnings, but prints out nothing. $order = 'columnName'; $direction = 'ASC'; $stmt = $db->prepare("SELECT field from table WHERE column = :my_param ORDER BY :order :direction"); $stmt->bindParam(':my_param', $is_live, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt->bindParam(':order', $order, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt->bindParam(':direction', $direction, PDO::PARAM_STR); $stmt->execute(); The :my_param works, but not :order or :direction. Is it not being internally escaped correctly? Am I stuck inserting it directly in the SQL? So, when I add 10000 elements to a map, and after that call map.clear(), it will keep 10000 nulls in it's internal array. So, my question is, how does JVM handle this array of nothing, and thus, is HashMap memory effective?

• Bulk Insert takes 4x as long on first operation of the day

  I do Bulk Inserts into a table with about 14 million rows at fiver minute increments during a 7 hour period during the day. These inserts take somewhere between 9-14 secs. However, the first insert always takes about 40 secs. Anyone know what SQL Server 2005 would be doing differently on the first insert into a table for that day? From what I've read I should probably use the SqlBulkCopy class instead of just using a bulk insert in a stored procedure. Is that that the general consensus?

The problem is that When I go to lower half of the datagrid which is not visible until I scroll down, as I click any cell, the table adapter is filled and updated and the pointerpoints to the very first row. Any suggestion on how to fix it. I have a ideas to record the top row of the datagridview that is visible and set the pointer to that row. But how to do it?

  I would like to display real time updates on a web page (based on a status field in a database table that is altered by an external process). Based on my research, there are several ways of doing this. Long Polling (Comet) - This seems to be complex to implement Regular Polling - I can have an AJAX method trigger a database hit every 5seconds to get the current status. But I fear this will have performance issues. Then I read about using SqlCacheDependency - basically the cache gets invalidated based on a field in the table. I am assuming I can use the event trigerred when the cache is invalidated to show the new update to the user? What's an easy solution that will not have performance issues? anyone?
