  I have an application (CQ5) that requires enabling unauthenticatedIdentity on jbossdir/conf/login-config.xml I used: <authentication> <login-module code = "org.jboss.security.auth.spi.UsersRolesLoginModule" flag = "required" > <module-option name="unauthenticatedIdentity">nobody</module-option> </login-module> </authentication> then I tried to copy jbossdir/conf/props/jmx-console-users.properties,jmx-console-roles.properties into users.properties and roles.properies (same dir). I still get this error: ERROR [org.jboss.security.auth.spi.UsersRolesLoginModule] Failed to load users/passwords/role files java.io.IOException: No properties file: users.properties or defaults: defaultUsers.properties found where should I put those files?

• MySQLi Extension with phpMyAdmin

  I just unpacked the latest phpMyAdmin into /var/www/html/phpMyAdmin and it is giving me "The mysqli extension is missing." - how do I install this? I'm on Centos. I checked php.ini and it seems to be "unlocked". when I type in php -i |grep -i mysqli ... it looks to be enabled. Similar, using Java, developers can use code like shown below to verify the user authentication status: ADFContext adfContext = ADFContext.getCurrent(); SecurityContext securityCtx = adfContext.getSecurityContext(); boolean userAuthenticated = securityCtx.isAuthenticated(); Note that the Java code lines use the same security context reference that is used with expression language. But is this all that there is? No ! The goal of ADF Security is to enable all ADF developers to build secure web application with JAAS (Java Authentication and Authorization Service). For this, more fine grained protection can be defined using the ResourcePermission, a generic JAAS permission class owned by the Oracle Platform Security Services (OPSS).  Using the ResourcePermission  class, developers can grant permission to functional parts of an application that are not protected by page or task flow security. For example, an application menu allows creating and canceling product shipments to customers. However, only a specific user group - or application role, which is the better way to use ADF Security - is allowed to cancel a shipment. To enforce this rule, a permission is needed that can be used declaratively on the UI to hide a menu entry and programmatically in Java to check the user permission before the action is performed. Note that multiple lines of defense are what you should implement in your application development. Don't just rely on UI protection through hidden or disabled command options. To create menu protection permission for an ADF Security enable application, you choose Application | Secure | Resource Grants from the Oracle JDeveloper menu. The opened editor shows a visual representation of the jazn-data.xml file that is used at design time to define security policies and user identities for testing. An option in the Resource Grants section is to create a new Resource Type. A list of pre-defined types exists for you to create policy definitions for. Many of these pre-defined types use the ResourcePermission class. To create a custom Resource Type, for example to protect application menu functions, you click the green plus icon next to the Resource Type select list. The Create Resource Type editor that opens allows you to add a name for the resource type, a display name that is shown when granting resource permissions and a description. The ResourcePermission class name is already set. In the menu protection sample, you add the following information: Name: MenuProtection Display Name: Menu Protection Description: Permission to grant menu item permissions OK the dialog to close the resource permission creation. To create a resource policy that can be used to check user permissions at runtime, click the green plus icon in the Resources section of the Resource Grants section. In the Create Resource dialog, provide a name for the menu option you want to protect. To protect the cancel shipment menu option, create a resource with the following settings Resource Type: Menu Protection Name: Cancel Shipment Display Name: Cancel Shipment Description: Grant allows user to cancel customer good shipment   A new resource Cancel Shipmentis added to the Resources panel. Initially the resource is not granted to any user, enterprise or application role. To grant the resource, click the green plus icon in the Granted To section, select the Add Application Role option and choose one or more application roles in the opened dialog. Finally, you click the process action to define the policy. Note that permission can have multiple actions that you can grant individually to users and roles. The cancel shipment permission for example could have another action "view" defined to determine which user should see that this option exist and which users don't. To use the cancel shipment permission, select the disabled property on a command item, like af:commandMenuItem and click the arrow icon on the right. From the context menu, choose the Expression Builder entry. Expand the ADF Bindings | securityContext node and click the userGrantedResource option. Hint: You can expand the Description panel below the EL selection panel to see an example of how the grant should look like. The EL that is created needs to be manually edited to show as #{!securityContext.userGrantedResource[               'resourceName=Cancel Shipment;resourceType=MenuProtection;action=process']} OK the dialog so the permission checking EL is added as a value to the disabled property. Running the application and expanding the Shipment menu shows the Cancel Shipments menu item disabled for all users that don't have the custom menu protection resource permission granted. Note: Following the steps listed above, you create a JAAS permission and declaratively configure it for function security in an ADF application. Do you need to understand JAAS for this? No!  This is one of the benefits that you gain from using the ADF development framework. To implement multi lines of defense for your application, the action performed when clicking the enabled "Cancel Shipments" option should also check if the authenticated user is allowed to use process it. • How can I create a custom OpenOffice / LibreOffice Writer table AutoFormat scheme?

  None of the basic table AutoFormat schemes in LibreOffice Writer have both an alternation style defined and no sum column/row style defined. If they have alternation, they always seem to have sums. Because of this I'd like to define my own table scheme. What is the easiest way to accomplish this? A WYSIWYG isn't totally necessary. I am not scared of editing simple XML files as long as I have examples to work from, and if I don't have to edit base install files. If I can place them in a custom area or my user profile directory then that would be best. If there is a way to get the GUI Add functionality to properly recognize an alternation then that would also be helpful.

  Hi, i need to do a presentation dvd of my photos, so i would like to make a nice flash gallery with my photos embedded inside flash files, so there is no way of stealing my shoots just browsing dvd folders. Inside a dvd i'll have plenty of space so i don't care about the size of the flash file itself. There is any way to do that? Because as far as i see, all the flash galleries uses an XML file to load the images from outside, so all the shoots are jpeg put in another folder, and anyone can take them just copying the folder.

  Is there a guide on the metrics required to obtain a certain Windows Experience Index? A Microsoft guy said in January 2009: On the matter of transparency, it is indeed our plan to disclose in great detail how the scores are calculated, what the tests attempt to measure, why, and how they map to realistic scenarios and usage patterns. Has that amount of transparency happened? Is there a technet article somewhere? If my score was limited by my Memory subscore of 5.9. A nieve person would suggest: Buy a faster RAM Which is wrong of course. From the Windows help: If your computer has a 64-bit central processing unit (CPU) and 4 gigabytes (GB) or less random access memory (RAM), then the Memory (RAM) subscore for your computer will have a maximum of 5.9. You can buy the fastest, overclocked, liquid-cooled, DDR5 RAM on the planet; you'll still have a maximum Memory subscore of 5.9. So in general the knee-jerk advice "buy better stuff" is not helpful. What i am looking for is attributes required to achieve a certain score, or move beyond a current limitation.   Hi there. I'm running a Tomcat 6.0.28 at port 8080 in a Debian Squeeze box. I'm a newbie in tomcat. I would like to change the location of manager and host-manager applications. That is, instead of going to: http://myserver:8080/manager/html I would like that to be: http://myserver:8080/somesubdirectory/manager/html Is this possible? If yes, how can I achieve this? I would really appreciate any help in this. I've been trying to change the context of /etc/tomcat6/Catalina/localhost/manager.xml from /manager to /somesubdirectory/manager with no success. Also I tried to create a symlink under /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/ROOT/somesubdirectory/manager with no success. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

• Unified Auditing - Das neue Auditing in Oracle Database 12c

  In Datenbanken werden fast immer vor allem wichtige Informationen abgelegt. Der Zugriff darauf unterliegt in der Regel gesetzlichen oder betrieblichen Auflagen. Weil der Nachweis, dass diese Auflagen eingehalten werden, ausschliesslich über das Auditing möglich ist, ist eine Datenbank ohne Auditing eigentlich nicht vorstellbar. Ein Artikel der DBA Community hat sich bereits vor einiger Zeit mit den Möglichkeiten und Varianten des Auditierens in der Datenbankversion Oracle Database 11g beschäftigt. Der Artikel beschreibt das Auditing vom Default Auditing, mit dem zum Beispiel das Starten und Stoppen der Datenbank dokumentiert wird, bis hin zum Fine Grained Auditing (FGA), das sehr zielgerichtet DML Operationen erfasst. Er geht auch auf die unterschiedlichen Speichermöglichkeiten für die Audit Daten ein, auf die sogenannten audit trails: Neben der Variante, den audit trail in unterschiedlichen Tabellen der Datenbank (SYS.AUD$, SYS.FGA_LOG$, DVSYS.AUDIT_TRAIL$) abzulegen, wird dabei auf Betriebssystemdateien in einem Oracle proprietären oder im XML Format zurückgegriffen sowie auf die SYSLOGs oder EVENT LOGs der Betriebssysteme. Schaut man sich das alles an, kann man sicherlich feststellen, dass das Auditing über viele Jahre ständig an neue Anforderungen angepasst und erweitert wurde. Aber es ist damit auch nach und nach unübersichtlicher geworden. Das ist vor allem deshalb problematisch, weil das Ziel des Auditing nicht das unbegerenzte Sammeln von Informationen ist, sondern die Auswertung dieser Informationen. Darum wurden in der aktuellsten Datenbankversion, Oracle Database 12c, die unterschiedlichen audit trails zu einem einzigen audit trail zusammengeführt. Das Ergebnis wird als unified auditing bezeichnet. Die dazu nötige vollständige Überarbeitung der Architektur des Auditing Verfahrens bietet gleichzeitig die Gelegenheit, weitere Verbesserungen zu implementieren. Das betrifft sowohl die Performance als auch die Öffnung des gesamten Auditierens zur Nutzung durch diverse weitere Oracle Werkzeuge wie SQL*Loader und RMAN.   Hi Everyone, Question.... I have Apache setup as my webserver. Tomcat is hooked into Apache via mod_jk, so the user never interacts with Tomcat. I have set up SSL on the Apache Webser...I can hit it with https:// localhost When I try to access my application at ...https://localhost/app I get a directory not found error. Catch is when I go regular http... I can hit it fine... http:// localhost/app What do I have to edit for this connection to work? I have uncommented the AJP connector in server.xml I have added my virtual host to httpd.conf What am I missing? Thanks in advance. Jared

• Custom 403 Error page not showing

  I want to restrict access to certain folders (includes, xml and logs for example) and so I've given them 700 permissions, and all files within them 600 permissions. Firstly, is this the right approach to restrict access? I have a .htaccess file in my root that handles rewriting and error documents. There are two pages in the root - 403.php and 404.php - for 403 and 404 errors. And I have these rules added to my .htaccess file: ErrorDocument 404 /404.php ErrorDocument 403 /403.php Now, the 404 page works just fine. The 403 page does not show when I try to access the 'includes' folder - I get the standard apache 403 error page instead, saying 'Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.' However, when I try going to the .htaccess file (in the web root) in my browser, I get my custom 403 error page. Why is this happening?

• Directly editing IIS 7 applicationHost.config configuration file

  I know that IIS 7+ now uses XML config files instead of the metabase. I also know that if I edit a web.config file for a given site, IIS automagically detects the changes and implements any corresponding config changes. However, does this also apply to the server-level applicationHost.config settings file? (Its usually located in C:\windows\system32\inetsrv\config.) Specifically, is it safe to carefully edit this file instead of using IIS Manager or the appcmd command line utility? I couldn't find anything in the documentation that said it was okay or not okay to do this. I'm curious because I have to change the bindings for numerous sites from one IP to another. It would be much faster to simply do a global search and replace for the IP address in the config file instead of manually editing a few dozen sites in the GUI.
