• Hibernate Query Exception

  I've got a hibernate query I'm trying to get working but keep getting an exception with a not so helpful stack trace. I'm including the code, the stack trace, and hibernate chatter before the exception is thrown. • Silverlight DataStateBehavior, initial value not used

  Hi, I am trying to use the Silverlight DataStateBehavior, it works fine in most cases where I click a button which sets say a 'Selected' Property in the view model to either false or true. The DataStateBehavior then tells the VisualStateManager to go to the relevant state. Like this: <Button...> <i:Interaction.Behaviors> <id:DataStateBehavior Binding="{Binding Selected}" Value="True" TrueState="SelectedVisualState" FalseState="DeselectedVisualState"/> </i:Interaction.Behaviors> </Button> The above works fine. What I am trying to do though is to get it to set the correct state when the application loads, if I were to set the 'Selected' property on the view model to true by default I wouldn't see any changes in the UI until I clicked the button to change the viewmodel property.   Hi, I just created a new widget by following a tutorial. I created a zip containing all files and renamed it to HelloWorld.wgt instead of HelloWorld.zip. I sent it to my phone via Bluetooth, but when I try to open the wgt file on my phone it says it can't open it, because it doesn't know the filetype. Is there a way to install homebrew widgets on a Samsung Star without using a webserver? Thanks,

• Extending Code Igniter functions to external PHP Scripts

  Hello everybody. I'm doing a small web app, which uses CKeditor for user input, and CKfinder for file management (images/flash). Those who know CKFinder, algo know that the config file for CKFinder as a function named CheckAuthentication() that returns false or true, giving or not permissions to use CKFinder. This is were a Custom PHP Code checks if the user as authorization to access CKFinder or not. Well for my app I'm using Code Igniter, and of course I've created a model were i handle everything about User Permissions, Loggin, Session Cookies, etc. And i also have a function witch its propose is just to check if the user is Logged in. So I would like to know if someone knows a way that i can call the function isLoggedIn() inside the model security from inside the function CheckAuthentication() in CKFinder config file.   I'm looking for a Java library for SWIFT messages. I want to parse SWIFT messages into an object model validate SWIFT messages (including SWIFT network validation rules) build / change SWIFT messages by using an object model Theoretically, I need to support all SWIFT message types. But at the moment I need MT103+, MT199, MT502, MT509, MT515 and MT535. So far I've looked at two libraries AnaSys Message Objects (link text) Datamation SWIFT Message Suite (link text) Both libraries allow to accomplish the tasks mentioned above but in both cases I'm not really happy. AnaSys uses a internal XML representation for all SWIFT messages which you need to know in order to access the fields of a message. And you need to operate on the DOM of the XML representation, there is no way to say "get the contents of field '50K' of the SWIFT message". And the Datamation library seems to have the nicer API but does not find all errors. So does anyone know other SWIFT libraries to use?

• asp.net MVC RC1 RenderPartial ViewDataDictionary

  I'm trying to pass a ViewData object from a master page to a view user control using the ViewDataDictionary. The problem is the ViewDataDictionary is not returning any values in the view user control whichever way i try it. The sample code below is using an anonymous object just for demonstration although neither this method or passing a ViewData object works. Following is the RenderPartial helper method i'm trying to use: <% Html.RenderPartial("/Views/Project/Projects.ascx", ViewData.Eval("Projects"), new ViewDataDictionary(new { Test = "Mark" })); %> and in my view user control i do the following: <%= Html.Encode(ViewData["Test"]) %> Why does this not return anything? Thanks for your help. EDIT: I'm able to pass and access the stronlgy typed model without any problems. it's the ViewDataDictionary which i'm trying to use to pass say just a single value outside of the model..

• cakephp routing problem, plugin routing works but not others

  I'm having a strange routing problem with a site I just uploaded, and I've made a number of changes to test what's happening. It doesn't make any sense. My setup is: - I'm using one plugin, which I've included all the routing in the routes.php file. - I've also included the routes for two other controllers, 'events' and 'updates' they look like this: Router::connect('/login', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'login')); Router::connect('/logout', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'logout')); Router::connect( '/events/', array( 'controller' = 'events', 'action' = 'index')); Router::connect('/updates', array('controller' = 'updates', 'action' = 'index')); What happens when I try to get to 'events' is that I get an error message saying: "Not Found Error: The requested address '/Events' was not found on this server." I've checked the database and it's accessible, through the plugin's model/controller/view. I've also made sure the model/controllers for 'events' and 'updates' are there. Can anyone tell me how to trouble shoot this? Thanks, Paul

  Hi, I've got a couple of questions about the naming convention for the DisplayTemplates and EditorTemplates in MVC 2. If for example I have a customer object with a child list of account how do I: Create a display template for the list of accounts, what is the file called? When I'm doing a foreach( var c in Model.Accounts ) how do I call a display temple while in the foreach loop? When I do Html.DisplayFor( x => x ) inside the foreach x is the model and not in this case c. Thanks in advance.

• Pass Dictionary of routeValues to ActionLink

  All, Getting to grips with ASP.NET MVC. So far, so good, but this one is a little nuts. I have a view model that contains a dictionary of attributes for a hyperlink, used like this: menu = model variable Html.ActionLink(Html.Encode(menu.Name), Html.Encode(menu.Action), Html.Encode(menu.Controller), menu.Attributes, null) The problem is the position of "menu.Attributes" expects an object in the form: new { Name = "Fred", Age=24 } From what I can tell, this anonymous object is actually converted to a dictionary via reflection anyway BUT you can't pass a dictionary to it in the first place!!! The Html generated for the link simply shows the dictionary type. How on earth do I get round this? The whole point is that its general and the controller can have set the menu.Attributes previously....

• WPF ComboBox Binding to non string object

  I'm using MVVM (MVVM Light Toolkit) and have a property on the view model which exposes a list of objects. The objects contain two properties, both strings, which correlate to an abbreviation and a description. I want the ComboBox to expose the pairing as "abbreviation - description". If I use a data template, it does this easily. I have another property on the view model which represents the object that should display as selected -- the chosen item in the ComboBox. I'm binding the ItemsSource to the list, as it represents the universe of available selections, and am trying to bind the SelectedItem to this object. I'm killing myself trying to figure out why I can't get it to work, and feeling more like a fraud by the hour. In trying to learn why this works, I created the same approach with just a list of strings, and a selected string. This works perfectly. So, it clearly has something to do with the typing... perhaps something in choosing equality? Or perhaps it has to do with the data template? • OpenSolaris Dead / Alive?

  Hi all, I have used Open Solaris in the past and really liked it, minus the lack of support for a few applications I use such as UFraw, Hugin, and wacom. I can compile from source, but where is the fun in that. It seems the release dates for the next Open Solaris keep getting pushed back and the release that was scheduled to happen quietly got pulled from their site. So, they're no longer saying development for 10.03 has already begun because it has come and gone and there is no release. Walter

• libevent, windows and .NET programming

  I experiment with a lot of open source software and I've noticed a fair amount of server type applications in the open source world use libevent to facilitate event-based processing rather than spawn multiple threads to handle requests. I also do a lot of .NET programming (it's my core job function), and I'm interested in learning how libevent relates to the .NET event model. Are events in .NET the equivalent of libevent for C programs? Should I try to learn libevent and attempt to use it in custom .NET server applications or is using the standard .NET event model basically the same thing?

• Good examples of MVVM Template

  I am currently working with the Microsoft MVVM template and find the lack of detailed examples frustrating. The included ContactBook example shows very little Command handling and the only other example I've found is from an MSDN Magazine article where the concepts are similar but uses a slightly different approach and still lack in any complexity. Are there any decent MVVM examples that at least show basic CRUD operations and dialog/content switching? • Eject disk on Mac Pro running VMWare ESXi

  I'm almost embarrassed to ask this, but I'm stuck. I installed VMWare ESXi on a Mac Pro. It's working great! The problem is that you press F12 to eject the disk, and F12 is what you use to shutdown ESX. I can power down, open the case, pull out the CD drive and use a paper clip to force the drawer open, but that's kind of a pain. Any other way to do this?

• Error in IE8 Win7: this tab has been recovered

  Hello everybody, I get this error every time I open IE8 in Win7, and a popup appear which says: this tab has been recovered and it close open the tab that I can't even surf a page (any page) with IE8, and after a while it crashes and close the program with no such an obvious error, I tried these methods to solve the problem but it doesn't work: 1.Reset Internet Explorer settings 2.Run IE without Add-ons 3.Scanned system for viruses with Eset Smart sercurity 4, there was no viruses. I would appreciate any suggestion, thanks.

• Silverlight: DataContractSerializer cannot handle read only collection properties

  Hey Stackoverflowers :) For our Silverlight Project (SL4) I'm using a Model which might contain Lists (IList<AnotherModel>). According to good practice and rule CA2227:CollectionPropertiesShouldBeReadOnly the IList properties don't have a public setter. We serialize the Model using the DataContractSerializer which is working. But when I try to deserialize, a SecurityException is thrown by DataContractSerializer's ReadObject(Stream) Method, complaining that the target property (pointing to the IList property) cannot be set due to a missing public setter. Since the DataContractSerializer is sealed and neither extendable nor flexible so I currently see no chance to add some kind of additional rules which allow to deserialize the ILists using a foreach-loop on Add() method or some other method of transferring the collection items. I've also tried to dig into DataContractSerializer source (using Reflector) to create a little fork but it looks like i'd have to dig very deep and replicating whole serialization classes doesn't seem to be a viable solution. Do you see another chance to serialize a List with no public setter using the DataContractSerializer? Thank you very much in advance for your ideas! Thomas

  I have a program that monitors a folder with word documents for any modifications made on the files. The error -Windows Error[2] The system cannot find the file specified- comes when I run the program, open a .doc within the folder make some changes and save it. Any suggestions on how to fix this? • Can't connect to server using lftp

  I have a lftp file that I want to execute using the following command lftp -f /usr/scripts/fileS.lftp If I run this file I get Delaying before reconnect: Now within this file (fileS.lftp) I have the following code open -u username,password server mput -E * close If I run open -u username,password server I get the following error Couldnt get a file descriptor referring to the console I assume I need to allow a connection on the server I'm trying to connect to, how can I do this? Any help would be highly appreciated.

• Spring MVC Controller redirect using URL parameters instead of in response.

  I am trying to implement RESTful urls in my Spring MVC application. All is well except for handling form submissions. • Best practice for Python & Django constants

  I have a Django model that relies on a tuple. I'm wondering what the best practice is for refering to constants within that tuple for my Django program. Here, for example, I'd like to specify "default=0" as something that is more readable and does not require commenting. Any suggestions? Status = ( (-1, 'Cancelled'), (0, 'Requires attention'), (1, 'Work in progress'), (2, 'Complete'), ) class Task(models.Model): status = models.IntegerField(choices=Status, default=0) # Status is 'Requires attention' (0) by default. EDIT: If possible I'd like to avoid using a number altogether. Somehow using the string 'Requires attention' instead would be more readable.

• Django deployment: PIL and virtualenv problem

  Hey guys, I'm deploying a Django site on my Vserver (Debian Lenny) and I'm having problem with PIL. I'm using virtualenv as well. When I'm in the virtualenv and type pip install -U PIL everything installs fine and I get this: *** TKINTER support not available --- JPEG support available --- ZLIB (PNG/ZIP) support available *** FREETYPE2 support not available *** LITTLECMS support not available And when I go in to the shell (python manage.py shell) and type from PIL import Image I get no error. But when I use it in the Django project (uploading an image in the admin for example) I just get No module named PIL I don't think it's a problem with the model because it works fine on the development machine but here is part of the class: class Category(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=255, verbose_name="Name") logo = models.ImageField(upload_to='images/category/', blank=True, null=True, verbose_name="Logo") I'm going out of my mind about this. I feel like this is a very common issue but I've been trying to google this all day with no luck. Thanks in advance, AndriJan
