  • Remove results below a certain score threshold in Solr/Lucene?

    Hi Guys, Is there a built-in functionalities in solr/lucene to filter the results if they fall below a certain score threshold? Let's say if I provide a score threshold of .2, then all documents with score less than .2 will be removed from my results. My intuition is that this is possible by updating/customizing solr or lucene. Could you point me to right direction on how to do this? Thanks in advance!

    For the CS majors out there what were the hardest CS classes or concepts that you learned in your undergraduate schooling? Did you find once you learned the basics,(data structs, OOP fundamentals, discrete math, pointers, recursion, etc) the rest followed naturally or did you hit a wall at any point in your higher classes like OS'es and Compilers?   • Comparing XML in SSRS

    I'm new to SSRS. We'll have two slightly different chunks of XML in a single row of an SQL Server database table. In an SSRS report we'll want to show only the differences between the XML chunks. I don't know how to do this, but I suspect the XML Type in SQLServer 2005 might be useful, or XSLT transformations in SSRS. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

    I need to sort a 2 dimensional array of doubles on multiple columns using either C or C++. Could someone point me to the algorithm that I should use or an existing library (perhaps boost?) that has this functionality? I have a feeling that writing a recursive function may be the way to go but I am too lazy to write out the algorithm or implement it myself if it has been done elsewhere. :-) Thanks

    Im just wondering how i use xmlencoder to serialize ArrayList where foo is my own made class. Do i have to do anything in particular, ie define my own xml structure first and then call toString on each value in my list and write it out? Can anyone point me to a good tutorial? http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/persistence4/ Thats what i have been looking at but it doesnt seem to mention what to do with non library classes.   • Sparse checkouts and svn:externals

    I'm trying to do a sparse checkout of a folder containing externals, but none of the externals are being checked out. This issue seems to indicate that this behavior may be by design, or at least that it isn't clear what the behavior should be. From my point of view, the obvious behavior is that externals are treated just as any other directory, and checked out following the same sparse checkout rules. Is there a way to work around this except manually checking out the externals?

I understand the basics that its a collection of data that comes in two forms, properties and methods but I kind of get lost on how it works beyond that. I know many web developers have one (and in many cases very well designed), but not any C++ developer (for example). On the net there are only some good blogs about some programming language, but in many cases these are extremely poor from a design point of view and i'd say very "nerdy".

  • Erlang: What are the pros and cons of different methods for avoiding intermediate variables?

    At one point while traveling the web, I came across a great page which contrasted the clarity and terseness of different methods of doing a sequence of operations without having to make a bunch of throwaway variables, e.g., Var1, Var2, Var3. It tried list comprehensions, folds, maps, etc. For some reason, now matter what I google, I can't find it again. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Or want to explore the topic anyway?

  • Setting a ListView Divider in code

    One of my ListView's needs to be created in code. When I specify a ListView in xml, I can set a dividerHeight and assign a color to the divider. But apparently, in code a color is not acceptable nor is pointing to a resource id. Only a Drawable is acceptable - and I haven't gotten to that chapter yet. Can someone point me to an example of setting a ListView divider in code?

    Hello everyone, I created a manifest file with 1000 items. Safari, Mozilla browsers are saving the files offline successfully and even Android saves the files correctly offline. On iPad and iPhone when I am trying to save more than 300 items in some point the applicationCache returns "error". When I am trying to save less (e.x.: 200) it saves the files correctly and the applicationCache returns "cached". Any ideas? Thank you.

    I'm looking at adding a user comment ticker to my iPhone/iPad polling app (Show of Hands). The comments would obviously need to be pulled from a central web source - either a database or perhaps even simple flat files.   • How do I use File.new to find a file from Rails?

    I am trying to read a file that has been saved on the /system folder using Paperclip, for example. But when I use that .url method from Paperclip to read that file using File.new, I get that the file isn't found. The directory is correct, but I still can't access it. What is the right way to find a file for File.new for example? I tried to point to other files, as well, and to no avail.

  • _NSAutoreleaseNoPool Breaking but No Helpful Stack Trace

    I am getting the message: * _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x3f43660 of class UICFFont autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking I have placed a break point using the symbol _NSAutoreleaseNoPool and the program does break, however, the stack trace does not show me any of my code only some UIView and Core Animation layer code. Is there a better way to get to the bottom of the issue? There is apparently a thread that does not have an auto release pool, but I can't figure out where. Thanks.

    I am playing with matplotlib - I have a bar chart, and I want to highlight the bar which user clicks. I have a callback that goes through a rect collection (the one I got from self.axis.bar(...)) and finds out which one was clicked (looking at the coordinates). At this point I want to call something to change the colour of the current bar. Is it possible? How do I do that?

    I have a scenario where a user is emailing another user in an HTML based web app. For the To: field, the user may select one of a pre-defined list of emails OR enter their own ignoring the pre-defined options. What would be the best way of doing this from a UI point of view? I've looked at editable select boxes using jQuery but none seem to let you enter your own option. Is there some other UI mechanism that would work here?
