  • How could I pass the float number by value in obj-c?

    - by user313439
    - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application{ // Override point for customization after application launch [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [self printFloat:1.3f]; } - (void)printFloat:(float)f { NSLog(@"%f",f); } I passed the "1.3f" to printFloat, but it was the wrong value (in this case, -2.000000) after "f" received. And there is a warning that "AppDelegate may not respond to -printFloat:" Where did I get it wrong? Thanks.

  • C# rotate a string 180 degrees

    - by Tom
Hi im having a few problems rotating a string, i found that you need graphics.rotate() but when i change the rotation, i cannot even see the string. It appears the pivot point has completely thrown me. Also i saw an example with transform but i decided i did not need this? If my string was a graph label, reading top to bottom and i needed to rotate it 180 degrees so that it read bottom to top, how would i do this? Thanks in advance

Basically, I need to fill a "screen" with some controls, that's it. Thanks. EDIT: Well, as soon as nobody answers, maybe somebody can help me with this problem for some framework other than Cappuccino?

  • How to convert a PGresult to custom data type with libpq (PostgreSQL)

    - by mocopera
Hi everyone! I'm using the libpq library in C to accessing my PostgreSQL database. So, when I do res = PQexec(conn, "SELECT point FROM test_point3d"); I don't know how to convert the PGresult I got to my custom data type. I know I can use the PQgetValue function, but again I don't know how to convert the returning string to my custom data type. Any suggestion? Thanks in advice.

  • SOAP VS REST PRAGMATIC CASE STUDIES ?

    - by asksuperuser
I'm not satisfied with the answers given by the SOAP vs REST questions notably here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/106546/performance-of-soap-vs-xml-rpc-or-rest because it's just general philosophical answers and not pragmatic answers with some study cases. Nobody can give precise cases of when soap would be more suitable than rest, especially as for performance point of view ? For example let's say I have a flash client for a financiall simulation wizard calling legacy code. Should I use SOAP or REST ? Why ?

  • Identifying Swing component at a particular screen coordinate? (And manually dispatching MouseEvents

    - by DVA
I'm doing some work making a Java app compatible with alternative input devices. Unfortunately, the device in question has a Java API that's barely into the alpha stages right now, so it's pretty poor. What I need to do is essentially set up a replacement structure for the dispatch of MouseEvents. Does anyone know if there's a way in Swing to take a screen coordinate and find out what Swing component is displayed on top at that screen point?

  • Getting the URL of a model in Lift

    - by scompt.com
I'm coming at Lift from a Django point of view, so in Django parlence, I'm trying to find the Lift equivalent of reverse. In generic terms, I have an instance of a model and I would like to get the URL that that model can be accessed at according to the SiteMap. I've tried extending Loc, but that doesn't seem to have brought me further towards my goal. I'm using the most recent 1.1 milestone (M8?).

  • How to remove "Standard Error" column from xtable() output of an lm on R/RSweave/LaTeX

    - by Lucas Spangher
I'm currently doing some data analysis on population data, so reporting the standard errors in the tables of parameter coefficients just doesn't really make statistical sense. I've done a fair bit of searching and can't find any way to customize the xtable output to remove it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot, I didn't post this lightly; if it's something obvious, I apologize for having wasted time!

  • Errors in c++ faq lite?

    - by Gianluca
Hello, I'm reading questions and answers around here for a few days. I have seen the c++ faq lite at Parashift has been mentioned many times. Personally I have always considered it to be a good reference, not my favourite one but certainly useful. Here I have seen somebody advising it, but many others commenting against it instead. Somebody mentioned it's full of mistakes. Could you please point out which are the major errors in there, if any?

  • I really need help with Delphi... text files and arrays with sorting?

    - by DTB
I have read a text file (of names) into an array and I need how to sort those names into alphabetical order and display that in a rich edit? Please give me the code from this point onwards: readln(myfile, arr[i]); 'myfile' is the text file and 'arr' is the array of string. Also, I have declared 'i' as an integer even though it is a array of string. Is that OK?

  • Why aren't IOKit notifications being delivered with this code?

    - by gojohnnyboi
I wrote this code to subscribe to USB devices being plugged in and unplugged; the point is for IOKit to deliver notifications to my iAttached() and iDetached() functions when the corresponding events occur. However, I don't get notifications. The code can be seen here: http://gist.github.com/402391 I didn't want to over-populate this page with it, as it is moderately long.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

  • What is the proper way to wrap this php loop around the javascript

    - by zac
Hi, I am mashing together the Google Maps 2 script with a Wordpress loop so there is a CMS platform for the map data. I have this working fine : var point = new GLatLng(48.5139,-123.150531); var marker = createMarker(point,"Lime Kiln State Park", '<?php $post_id = 182; $my_post = get_post($post_id); $mapTitle = $my_post->post_title; $mapIMG = get_post_meta($post_id, 'mapImage', true); $snip = get_post_meta($post_id, 'mapExcerpt', true); echo "<div class=\"span-12\">"; echo "<div class=\"mapTitle\">"; echo $mapTitle; echo "</div>"; echo "<img class=\"mapImage\" src=\""; echo bloginfo('url'); echo "/wp-content/files_mf/"; echo $mapIMG; echo "\" /> "; echo "<div class=\"mapContent\">"; echo $snip; echo "</div>"; echo "<div class=\"moreLink\">"; echo "<a href=\""; echo $permalink = get_permalink( $post_id ); echo "\">Find out more &raquo; </a>"; echo "</div>"; echo "</div>"; ?>') map.addOverlay(marker); However I am hoping to also be able to include the two variables at the start within the php loop so that both of those can also be generated by custom fields. Can someone please show me that the proper way to write this would be so that all of the data can be pulled in from fields within that post id? So the lat/long and title could also be set from within the post 182 fields.
