• Change the default Icon on your jQuery UI Accordion

  I've got this question in one of my previous blogs posted here (the same blog is posted on codeasp.net too), dealing with jQuery UI Accordion and I thought it's nice to recap this in a blog post so that I will have it documented for further reference. In the previous blog, I'm creating tabs content navigation using jQuery UI Accordion. So, it's quite simple code and all I do there is calling accordion() function. <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">     $(function() {         $("#products").accordion();     }); </script> The default image icons for each item is the arrow. The accordion uses the right arrow and down arrow images. So, what we should do in order to change them? JQuery UI Accordion contains option with name icons that has header and headerSelected properties. We can override them with either the existing classes from jQuery UI themes or with our own. 1. Using existing jQuery UI Theme classes - Open the follownig link: http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/#icons You will see the icons available in the jQuery UI theme. Mouse over on each icon and you will see the class name for each icon. As you can see, each icon has class name constructed in the following way: ui-icon-<name> All icons in one image - In our example, I will use ui-icon-circle-plus  and ui-icon-circle-minus (plus and minus icons). - Lets set the icons <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">     $(function() {         //initialize accordion                 $("#products").accordion();         //set accordion header options         $("#products").accordion("option", "icons",         { 'header': 'ui-icon-circle-plus', 'headerSelected': 'ui-icon-circle-minus' });     }); </script> From the code above, you can see that I first intialize the accordion plugin, and after I override the default icons with the ui-icon-circle-plyus for header and ui-icon-circle-minus for headerSelected. Here is the end result: So, now you see we have the plus/minus circle icons for the default header state and the selected header state.   2. Add my own icons - If you want to add your own icons, you can do that by creating your own custom css classes. - Lets create classes for both, the header default state and header selected state <style type="text/css">     .defaultIcon     {         background-image: url(images/icons/defaultIcon.png) !important;         width: 25px;         height: 25px;     }     .selectedIcon     {         background-image: url(images/icons/selectedIcon.png) !important;         width: 25px;         height: 25px;     } </style> As you can see, I use my own images placed in images/icons/ folder - default icon - selected icon One very important thing to note here is the !important key added on each background-image property. It's like that in order to give highest importancy to our image so that the default jQuery UI theme icon images will have less importancy and won't be used. • Acer aspire 5735z wireless not working after upgrade to 11.10

  I cant get my wifi card to work at all after upgrading to 11.10 Oneiric. I'm not sure where to start to fix this. Ive tried using the additional drivers tool but this shows that no additional drivers are needed. Before my upgrade I had a drivers working for the Rt2860 chipset.   There may be times when you need to modify the value of the fields “System.CreatedDate” and “System.ChangedDate” on a work item. Richard Hundhausen has a great blog with ample of reason why or why not you should need to set the values of these fields to historic dates. So, essentially this task has burned 1 hour per day Sprint Burn Down Chart – What’s not possible? The Sprint burn down chart is calculated from the System.AuthorizedDate and not the System.ChangedDate/System.CreatedDate. So, though you can change the System.ChangedDate and System.CreatedDate to historic dates you will not be able to synthesize the sprint burn down chart. Image 1 – By changing the Created Date and Changed Date to ‘18/Oct/2012’ you would have expected the burn down to have been impacted, but it won’t be, because the sprint burn down chart uses the value of field ‘System.AuthorizedDate’ to calculate the unfinished work points. The AsOf queries that are used to calculate the unfinished work points use the value of the field ‘System.AuthorizedDate’. Image 2 – Using the above code I burned down 1 hour effort per day over 5 days from the task work item, I would have expected the sprint burn down to show a constant burn down, instead the burn down shows the effort exhausted on the 24th itself. Simply because the burn down is calculated using the ‘System.AuthorizedDate’. Now you would ask… “Can I change the value of the field System.AuthorizedDate to a historic date” Unfortunately that’s not possible! You will run into the exception ValidationException –  “TF26194: The value for field ‘Authorized Date’ cannot be changed.” Conclusion - You need to be a member of the Project Collection Service account group in order to set the fields ‘System.ChangedDate’ and ‘System.CreatedDate’ to historic dates - You need to instantiate the WorkItemStore using the flag ByPassValidation - The System.ChangedDate needs to be set to a historic date at the time of work item creation. You cannot reset the ChangedDate to a date earlier than the existing ChangedDate and you cannot reset the ChangedDate to a date greater than the current date time. - The System.CreatedDate can only be reset after a work item has been created. You cannot set the CreatedDate at the time of work item creation. The CreatedDate cannot be greater than the current date. You can however reset the CreatedDate to a date earlier than the existing value. - You will not be able to synthesize the Sprint burn down chart by changing the value of System.ChangedDate and System.CreatedDate to historic dates, since the burn down chart uses AsOf queries to calculate the unfinished work points which internally uses the System.AuthorizedDate and NOT the System.ChangedDate & System.CreatedDate - System.AuthorizedDate cannot be set to a historic date using the TFS API Read other posts on using the TFS API here… Enjoy!

  The real-time eventing feature in Coherence is great for relaying state changes to other systems or to users. However, sometimes not all changes need to or can be sent to consumers. For instance; If rapid changes cannot be consumed or interpreted as fast as they are being sent. A user looking at changing Stock prices may only be able to interpret and react to 1 change per second. A client may be using low bandwidth connection, so rapidly sending events will only result in them being queued and delayed A large number of clients may need to be notified of state changes and sending 100 events p/s to 1000 clients cannot be supported with the available hardware, but 10 events p/s to 1000 clients can. Note this example assumes that many of the state changes are to the same value. One simple approach to throttling Coherence cache events is to use a cache store to capture changes to one cache (data cache) and insert those changes periodically in another cache (events cache). Consumers interested in state changes to entires in the first cache register an interest (event listener) against the second event cache. By using the cache store write-behind feature rapid updates to the same cache entry are coalesced so that updates are merged and written at the interval configured to the event cache. • Fix keyboard orientation in landscape iPad app (upside down keyboard)

  I'm converting a landscape (UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight) iPhone app to be a universal app. So far I've got the orientation working properly: the iPad version will launch with the right splash graphic and start in the right orientation (LandscapeLeft or LandscapeRight) depending on how the user is holding it. But: when I trigger the keyboard while the iPad is in LandscapeLeft, the keyboard appears upside down: I can't post images yet so you can see the error here: http://blog.durdle.com/images/ipad_keyboard.png That's a UIAlertView with a UITextField added to it. I guess the keyboard at this point is in the LandscapeRight orientation. If I rotate the device to LandscapeRight, the game view rotates to match the keyboard, then if I rotate the device back to LandscapeLeft the entire interface - game AND keyboard rotate together to appear correctly. So: how do I ensure it appears in the correct orientation?

  I'm trying to set up jsTree to dynamically accept JSON data from django. I've also tried simpleJson encoding in django but with the same result. If I change the url so that it is receiving a JSON file with identical data, it works as expected. Any ideas on what the issue might be?

  Require urgent help!:( i m developing a game and i m dealing with around 20 images at the same time. As per my knowledge, i m allocating and deallocating the images at right places. Game runs for around 15 min fine but quits with an error message: "Program received signal: “0”. warning: check_safe_call: could not restore current frame" i also tried debugging with memory leak tools provided in Xcode but could not find any issue with memory management or any increase in memory size on simulator it works fine but not on the device. i m confused wht can be the issue.   Hi, I am trying to use the Silverlight DataStateBehavior, it works fine in most cases where I click a button which sets say a 'Selected' Property in the view model to either false or true. The DataStateBehavior then tells the VisualStateManager to go to the relevant state. Like this: <Button...> <i:Interaction.Behaviors> <id:DataStateBehavior Binding="{Binding Selected}" Value="True" TrueState="SelectedVisualState" FalseState="DeselectedVisualState"/> </i:Interaction.Behaviors> </Button> The above works fine. What I am trying to do though is to get it to set the correct state when the application loads, if I were to set the 'Selected' property on the view model to true by default I wouldn't see any changes in the UI until I clicked the button to change the viewmodel property. However nothing gets drawn (I am using Core Graphics to draw some lines on a derived UIView). If I call my update via a timer then all is well and good. • Pathfinding Algorithm For Pacman

  Hi, I wanted to implement the game Pacman. For the AI, I was thinking of using the A* algorithm, having seen it on numerous forums. However, I implemented the Breadth First Search for some simple pathfinding (going from point a to point b with certain obstacles in between) and found it gave the optimum path always. I guess it might be because in a game like pacman which uses simple pathfinding, there is no notion of costs in the graph. So, will it be OK if I use BFS instead of A* for pathfinding in Pacman?

Originally there was a route issue, which was resolved. We're still getting the inner exception with socket errors. We had MS support involved today, and they looked at some traces and network captures. The web service host does round-robin DNS, and they may be responding on a different IP address for the syn syn/ack from one ip, and the next from a different ip. This is not good. This is likely quite specific to our situation, but perhaps it applies to others as well. Microsoft Network Monitor and an application trace got us the information we needed.
