• Dreamweaver deleted my file contents

  I was developing a website using Dreamweaver, I was editing one of my php files and suddenly the electricity shut down and my computer turned off. when I turned on my PC again and open the file that I was editing, all the contents were gone!!! When I look to the php file size it was 10 KB so that means it is not empty, so i decided to open it in note++ it showed me a long string of nulls !!! So is there a way to get my file contents back?? Please because I spent almost a week coding it :(

• Transient mysqlcheck errors about "size of datafile" (file too small)

  Running mysqlcheck on a live database is giving me transient errors like this one: mydatabase.mytable error : Size of datafile is: 500719688 Should be: 501000484 error : Corrupt When I run the command again or check the table one-off using mysql, it's listed as OK. Is this just a side effect of running checks on live tables? Is it possible that data is not flushed, hence the strange discrepancy? We moved several databases this morning by shutting down mysqld on the source and rsyncing files across to the new server, but these are all MyISAM tables so I don't believe the two things are related. (But I mention it just in case.)

• windows7 cant get to internet( cable connection)

  I'm using a window 7 with wireless & cable equipments to connect to internet, it's been fine for moths. But Three days ago, the local connection ran out of control and i can no longer use the cable to get access to internet. But fortunately the wireless equipment still works. I reinstalled the driver, took off/inserted in the cable, the computer still didn't work. And every time I let the computer diagnose itself, it told me that :"Default gateway is not valid"(or something else, forgive my terrible english XD). If anyone could give any advice, i will be very appreciated. And I'm in california, but i don't know the gateway of this area.

• What are the reasons why outlook looses configurations?

  Can't seem to establish any logic why outlook suddenly looses its profile coniguration settings intermittently. I work for an IT Contact Centre but it hurts when someone asks me why they loose their outlook profiles suddenly, and some most of the time. I know there are lots of reasons but I'm not sure which ones are the best. Could it be that the PC in a hurge corporate organization will not be connected to the network properly so the profile gets corrupted for outlook? But they don't usually shut down the PC after office hours due to the fact that its a 24 hours operations. On top of that, when users are migrated to Windows 7 / Office 2010 and then logs on to this pc, then opens outlook, then logs off then goes back to a Windows XP PC and opens outlook 2003 the profile is again lost. Again why is this? Is there anyone out there whose facing same connection/outlook profile issues getting lost for no apparent reason?

• My server hostname doesn't work? [on hold]

  I've got a raspberry pi running raspbian server edition. It's a modified debian that runs well on the rPi. My problem is that the only way I can ssh into it with putty is through the static ip. My router doesn't recognize the hostname; it shows the mac address as the name. This causes the pi not to show my website online (I think). The only way I've gotten it to work is using my other linux server to forward using virtual hosts, and that has to use the ip address, too. However, now that I have my other server off, the website doesn't work and I can't ssh (or find it anywhere on the network) using the hostname.

• Using WPF and SlimDx (DirectX 10/11)

  I am using SlimDX with WinForms for a while now, but want to make the switch to WPF now. However, I can't figure out how to get DX10/11 working with WPF. The February release of SlimDX provides a WPF example, which only works with DX 9 though. I found the following solution: http://jmorrill.hjtcentral.com/Home/tabid/428/EntryId/437/Direct3D-10-11-Direct2D-in-WPF.aspx but can't get it to work with SlimDX. My main problem is the shared resource handle as I don't know how to retrieve the shared handle from a SlimDX texture. I can't find any information to this topic. • SFx Server Did Not Reply

  have the following problem : For a project I've tentatively created a Silverlight 5 web application and successfully integrated a WCF service. So far so good , in the Visual Studio 2012 environment everything works as intended. The data is processed. Now I wanted to see if it all works well on IIS 7.5 . When I called the test page and spoke to the WCF service Error 405 - Method not allowed occures. After searching I solved the problem with a module allocation for *.svc .                       So, then comes the error 405 although no longer , and the service also reports the status 200 - OK . Unfortunately, the application still does not work . Now this error is reported in Silverlight : The server doenst reply a meaningful response , which may be caused by a non- matching agreement , a premature session shutdown or an internal server error . No idea what I must adjust or change now. Have read on one of the few sites on the topic that is ClientConfig blame, as they would continue as a reference for the *.xap file is valid after publishing , and not used WebConfig ... But according to the error message above, it seems to be problem in the ServiceModel.dll ... Please , can anyone help me resolve this error? Thank you, Roland I uploaded my project. • Hibernate 3.5-Final in JBoss 5.1.0.GA

  Hibernate 3.5-Final is finally here and it offers the much anticipated JPA2 support, amongst other features. I am working on a project(EJB3 based) using JBoss 5.1.0.GA and Hibernate 3.3, but I wanted to take advantage of the JPA2 and tried to upgrade to Hibernate 3.5. What I did was fairly simple and standard - I just put all the hibernate 3.5 jars in the server/configuration(default,all,etc)/lib folder - that way they take precedence over the hibernate artifacts shipped with JBoss. It seems though that JBoss ships with libraries that are dependent on the JPA1 implementation part of the hibernate 3.3, because I started getting some errors about unimplemented abstract methods and stuff like that on deploy: 23:21:26,792 WARN [Ejb3Configuration] Persistence provider caller does not implement the EJB3 spec correctly.   Hi all, Im using Pylons in combination with WMI module to do some basic system monitoring of a couple of machines, for POSIX based systems everything is simple - for Windows - not so much. Doing a request to the Pylons server to get current CPU, however it's not working well, or atleast with the WMI module. First i simply did (something) this: c = wmi.WMI() for cpu in c.Win32_Processor(): value = cpu.LoadPercentage However, that gave me an error when accessing this module via Pylons (GET http://ip:port/cpu): raise x_wmi_uninitialised_thread ("WMI returned a syntax error: you're probably running inside a thread without first calling pythoncom.CoInitialize[Ex]") x_wmi_uninitialised_thread: <x_wmi: WMI returned a syntax error: you're probably running inside a thread without first calling pythoncom.CoInitialize[Ex] (no underlying exception)> Looking at http://timgolden.me.uk/python/wmi/tutorial.html, i wrapped the code accordingly to the example under the topic "CoInitialize & CoUninitialize", which makes the code work, but it keeps throwing "Win32 exception occurred releasing IUnknown at..." And then looking at http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-win32/2007-August/006237.html and the follow up post, trying to follow that - however pythoncom._GetInterfaceCount() is always 20. • iPhone: Software Development And Distribution

  I have a few quick questions about the iPhone software development. I did some research about the topic, but there are a few specific things I would like to ask here, because I will have to estimate the cost of the required hardware and software, before I am allowed to buy anything. I never did any Mac development nor have I ever owned an iPhone, so needless to say this is quite hard for me. I will buy an iMac mini with 2 GB RAM for iPhone development. I will have to use it at the same time as my regular PC, but the majority of the time I won't use the Mac at all. Do I have to buy an additional monitor, a mouse and a keyboard or is there a better solution? I will have to port a C library to the iPhone platform and develop an iPhone application that uses the ported library. Do I need anything else than the iPhone SDK to do this? If I use an external library (see above), can I test the application with the integrated emulator, or is it recommend to buy the device? In a later phase of the project I will have to buy an iPhone, but I will have to wait until the iPhone 4 is released here in Europe, because the application requires a camera. In addition to this I will have to send data to a remote webservice. Aside from these two things I don't require any other features. Can I just buy the iPhone online from another country (the iPhones here are sim locked), or should I buy one with a contract? When the application is ready, it will be installed on a few iPhones owned by our customer. Because of security reasons it is crucial that there is no third party involved in this process (i.e. the application should not be distributed on the app store). Is this possible?

• Decoding ima4 audio format

  To reduce the download size of an iPhone application I'm compressing some audio files. Specifically I'm using afconvert on the command line to change .wav format to .caf format w/ ima4 compression. I've read this (wooji-juice.com) awesome post about this exact topic. I'm having trouble w/ the "decoding ima4 packets" step. I've looked at their sample code and I'm stuck. Please help w/ some pseudo code or sample code that can guide me in the right direction. Thanks! Additional info: Here is what I've completed and where I'm having trouble... I can play .wav files in both the simulator and on the phone. I can compress .wav files to .caf w/ ima4 compression using afconvert on the command line. I'm using the SoundEngine that came w/ CrashLanding (I fixed one memory leak). I modified the SoundEngine code to look for the mFormatID 'ima4'. I don't understand the blog post linked above starting w/ "Calculating the size of the unpacked data". Why do I need to do this? Also, what does the term "packet" refer to? I'm very new to any sort of audio programming.

  I'm currently using MongoDB to record application logs, and while I'm quite happy with both the performance and with being able to dump arbitrary structured data into log records, I'm troubled by the mutability of log records once stored. In a traditional database, I would structure the grants for my log tables such that the application user had INSERT and SELECT privileges, but not UPDATE or DELETE. Similarly, in CouchDB, I could write a update validator function that rejected all attempts to modify an existing document. However, I've been unable to find a way to restrict operations on a MongoDB database or collection beyond the three access levels (no access, read-only, "god mode") documented in the security topic on the MongoDB wiki. Has anyone else deployed MongoDB as a document store in a setting where immutability (or at least change tracking) for documents was a requirement? What tricks or techniques did you use to ensure that poorly-written or malicious application code could not modify or destroy existing log records? Do I need to wrap my MongoDB logging in a service layer that enforces the write-only policy, or can I use some combination of configuration, query hacking, and replication to ensure a consistent, audit-able record is maintained?

  We will soon start replacing ClearCase with Mercurial. I hear this is a good thing. The change model vs. the version model. Wave of the future. I'm prepared to believe this. Still, it kind of frightens me. Hey, it took Joel Spolsky a while to grok the difference and how to get maximum advantage out of Mercurial, so I'm betting I will run into conceptual traps and pitfalls. Does anyone have any real-world "how to grok Mercurial" tips? Anything specific suggestions that will help me bridge the conceptual gap. Any warnings about things not to do? • CAD like 3D geometry .NET library

  I am looking for a good 3D CAD like library. I need basic geometry shapes (cube, sphere, torus etc.) and the library should make the surface mesh - based on the shapes and some boolean operations. I have found many libraries on google (wrapped on C++), but most of them are not really comfortable, and/or do not support union/intersection. http://www.geometros.com/sgcore/index.htm - it has wrapped interface, http://www.opencsg.org/ - I haven't found wrapped interface, http://carve-csg.com/ - I haven't found wrapped interface, http://gts.sourceforge.net/ - I haven't found wrapped interface, http://www.ogre3d.org/ - I haven't found basic geometric shapes and boolean operators, http://brlcad.org/ - its interface is not clear for me, I haven't found wrapped interface, http://www.cgal.org/ - currently I try to make it work, I haven't found wrapped interface, http://www.k-3d.org/ - I haven't found wrapped interface, http://www.opencascade.org/ - I haven't found wrapped interface, http://ilnumerics.net/ - it does not support solid boolean operations, http://www.techsoft3d.com/ - seems to be really good one. Support both C++ and C#, http://www.devdept.com/products/eyeshot/ - one more C# library. It was not tested. Open source would be nice, but not necessary. Many thanks for help. • Crazy idea: Connect .NET and SAP with SAP JCo using IKVM.NET

  Because the SAP Connector for .NET is no longer maintained by SAP, I am now looking for an alternative to connect the Microsoft world with the SAP world. I know there a third party products like ERPConnect, but I want to do this with tools from SAP. Therefore there arised the crazy idea to use the SAP Java Connector in combination with the tool IKVM.NET (www.ikvm.net/devguide/net2java.html). IKVM.NET provides The IKVMC tool, which converts Java bytecode to .NET dll's and exe's. "No sooner said than done!" I converted the SAP JCo to .NET dlls and created a new Visual Studio solution. I put all the JCO files into a subdirectory of my solution. I set 2 references to the generated IKVM.OpenJDK.Core.dll and sapjco.dll. Great, all JCO classes where now available as .NET classes. Full of optimism I wrote some little code to connect to a SAP system. JCO.Client client = null; client = JCO.createClient(...) The compiliation of my testcode had no errors. "Wonderful !" I thought. Then I started my tetstapplication. Unfortunately I got an exception calling JCO.createClient: Could not load middleware layer 'com.sap.mw.jco.rfc.MiddlewareRFC'\r\nno sapjcorfc in java.library.path I have 2 questions on this topic. 1) Do you think my idea using SAP Java Connector to connect .NET with SAP is a good idea or is it nonsens ? Perhaps someone had already the same idea ;-) 2) How can the above exception be solved ?
