  Hi, I have a text file. I want read that file. But In that if the line starts with 6 then i want read that file otherwise leave that line and go to next line. If the line starts with 6 then i want to read that line from position 6 to 15 and 45 to 62. I want to implement this code in C#.NET. How to write that code? Can anyone Help me.

• How come, diffrent text files become diffrent sizes after compression ?

  I have file of some random text size = 27 gb and after compression it becomes 40 mb or so. And a 3.5 GB sql file become 45 Mb after compression. But a 109 mb text file become 72 mb after compression so what can be wrong with it. Why so less compressed, it must 10 mb or so , or i am missing something . All files as i can see is English text only and and some grammar symbols (/ , . - = + etc) Can you tell why ? If not can you tell how can i super compress a text file ? I can code in PHP , np in that.

• MySQL PHP incompatibility.

  Ok maybe I've overlooked something really simple here, but I can't seem to figure this out. I'm running WAMP locally, but connecting to a remote MySQL database. The local version of PHP is the latest 5.3.0. One of the remote databases, being version 5.0.45 works fine. However, the other remote database I'm trying to connect to, which is version 5.0.22 throws the following error before dying: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: OK packet 6 bytes shorter than expected. PID=5880 in ... Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: mysqlnd cannot connect to MySQL 4.1+ using old authentication in ... WTF? UPDATE: Reverting to PHP 5.2.* i.e. anything lower than 5.3.0 resolves the problem completely. As long as I am not running 5.3.0 I can connect to both databases. I'm not sure what the explanation is for this weirdness.

• Php/ODBC encoding problem

  I use ODBC to connect to SQL Server from PHP. In PHP I read some string (nvarchar column) data from SQL Server and then want to insert it to mysql database. When I try to insert such value to mysql database table I get this mysql error: Incorrect string value: '\xB3\xB9ow...' for column 'name' at row 1 For string with all ASCII characters everything is fine, the problem occurs when non-ASCII characters (from some European languages) exist. So, in more general terms: there is a Unicode string in MS SQL Server database, which is retrieved by PHP trough ODBC. Then it is put in sql insert query (as value for utf-8 varchar column) which is executed for mysql database. Can someone explain to me what is happening in this situation in terms of encoding? At which step what character encoding convertions may take place? I use: PHP 5.2.5, MySQL5.0.45-community-nt, MS Sql Server 2005.

I don't have control over the JSON generation in this instance and would like the solution to work with the Silverlight subset of .NET. It would be great if the solution could perform the reverse for serialization as well.

• mysql boolean joins

  I want to use a JOIN to return a boolean result. Here's an example of the data... t1 id | data | 1 | abcd | 2 | 2425 | 3 | xyz | t2 id | data | t1_id | 1 | 75 | 2 | 2 | 79 | 2 | 3 | 45 | 3 | So with these two tables I want to select all the data from t1, and also whether a given variable appears in t2.data for each id. So say the variable is 79, the results should be id | data | t2_boolean 1 | abcd | 0 2 | abcd | 1 3 | xyz | 0 So I'm thinking some sort of join is needed, but without a WHERE clause. I've been banging my head about this one. Is it possible? I really need it inside the same statement as I want to sort results by the boolean field. As the boolean needs to be a field, can I put a join inside of a field? Thanks...

  I have a table like this I'd like to sort : | Name | Case | | John | X-123/08 P| | Bob | X-123/09 | | Dylan | X-45/10 | I want to sort the Case colum by case's year then case's number knowing that the format is always "X-(1 to 4 digits for case's number)/(case's year on 2 digits) (sometimes some text)". It's possible that after the year's case I have some text but it shoud be ignored for sorting. I am using tablesorter jQuery's plugin and I am struggling to add a custom parser for this. • Calculate angle of moving ball after collision with angled or sloped wall that is a 2D line segment

  If you have a "ball" inside a 2D polygon, made up of say, 4 line segments that act as bounding walls, how do you calculate the angle of the ball after the collision with the irregularly sloped wall? I know how to make the ball bounce if the wall is horizontal, vertical, or at a 45 degree angle. I also have my code setup to detect a collision with the wall. I've read about dot products and normals, but I cannot figure out how to implement these in Java / Android. I'm completely stumped and feel like I've looked up everything 10 pages deep in Google 10 times now. I'm burned out trying to figure this out, I hope someone can help.

• How to rotate an image properly in JPanel (Java)

  Hi guys, I'm working on rotating a loaded image. I set the graphics on a JPanel and then use standard AffineTransform in order to rotate it, say, 45 degrees. Unfortunately, the image is being cut, if it exceeds the panel area. How may I force JPanel to add scrolls to itself (while loading an image file, I would like to adjust the size of JPanel by adding the scrolls, without adjusting the size of JFrame). Or, in other words, how to correctly rotate the whole image? Thank you in advance for the reply!

  I have a C program which uses Lua for scripting. In order to keep readability and avoid importing several constants within the individual Lua states, I condense a large amount of functions within a simple call (such as "ObjectSet(id, "ANGLE", 45)"), by using an "action" string. To do this I have a large if tree comparing the action string to a list (such as "if(stringcompare(action, "ANGLE") ... else if (stringcompare(action, "X")... etc") This approach works well, and within the program it's not really slow, and is fairly quick to add a new action. But I kind of feel perfectionist. Is there a better way to do this in C? And having Lua in heavy use, maybe there is a way to use it for this purpose? (embedded "chunks" making a dictionary?) Although this part is mostly curiosity.

• How to make a div expand vertically to wrap the content within it?

  I have a div which wraps a number of images that are generated dynamically. I don't know how high the list of images is. My problem is the div that contains the dynamically generated images doesn't behave like it is housing any content - I want it to extend to the height of the list of images. Each image is itself wrapped in a div. This is the wrapper div: .block { padding:10px; margin-top:10px; height:auto; background-color:#f9f9f9; } This is the markup dynamically generated for (one of) the images: <div class="block"> <div style="float: left; padding: 2px 2px 2px 2px;"><IMG SRC="45.jpg" BORDER="0"/></div> ..... • Calling Stored Procedure from VB.net timeout error

  When calling a stored procedure from vb.net is there a default SQL timeout time if no timeout is specified in the connection string? I am unsure if there is a CommandTimeout specified in the connection string but am going through all the possibilites. Example if no results after 30 seconds (or more) throw: `System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.` SQL Profiler says that the script runs and ends in 30 seconds when the program timesout.. Tthe script runs without error in about 1 minute 45 seconds by itself in SQL server.

• Android: Constructing a triangle based on Geographical information

  Hi Guys, I'm constructing a geolocation based application and I'm trying to figure out a way to make my application realise when a user is facing the direction of the given location (a particular long / lat co-ord). I've got the math figured, I just have the triangle to construct. Here's a further clarification of what I want to do.. I just want to know is there a way to get java to construct 2 other co-ordinates based on my orientation in relation to true north and my current co-ordinate? I'd like to construct a tri-angle, 45 degrees out each way of my current location (one of the points) and 1 kilometer in that direction. The problem is I don't know how to make Android/Java recognise that I want to find that point in the direction I'm currently facing.. Anyone got any ideas?

  I'm planning to setup my office network from scratch and want to ask professional opinions or tips. My office is connected to Internet with Cable connection (100Mb/s). The devices i would like to connect are VoIP Phone (RJ-11), TV (WiFi/LAN), 3 laptops (WiFi), a few smartphones (WiFi), iPad (WiFi), Kindle (WiFi) and, probably, MediaServer (WiFi/LAN). As you can see, the most load will be on WiFi connections (probably, even if TV supports WiFi it's better to connect it by LAN?). So, i need help to choose the best routers combination (or even one?) to support stable connections for all these devices and minimize the total number of routers/adapters. Any thoughts? Thank you!

  I've seen some limited resources on checking for cookies with Nginx, but I couldn't really find the answer I was looking for, hopefully some of you Nginx masters can give me a hand. Find the repeated integer in O(n) time and constant space. There is no range for the value of integers or the value of N For example given an array of 6 integers as 23 45 67 87 23 47. The answer is 23 (I hope this covers ambiguous and vague part) I searched on the net but was unable to find any such question in which range of integers was not fixed. Also here is an example that answers a similar question to mine but here he created a hash table with the highest integer value in C++.But the cpp does not allow such to create an array with 2^64 element(on a 64-bit computer).

• Node.JS Server Cuts Off Frequently?

  I have a Node JS Server where I am using Socket.IO to stream content to the browser. It works great for about 45 minutes or so of streaming, then it will usually cut out. There are no "errors" reported in the terminal and the Node server acts like it is in, however the page I am serving clearly stops working. What are my options for trying to get to the bottom of this? Could this be a configuration issue with Node/Socket.IO? is there any basic error logging you would recommend I setup?
