• Why can't execute GRUB command on Debian Squeeze 2.6 with GRUB already installed?

  I installed Debian Squeeze 2.6 (on a recently bought server) with a software RAID1. During installation I installed GRUB loader (1.9 version). System boots OK with GRAB loader BUT right after authorization it cannot execute GRUB command (I want to copy the GRUB from the SDA to SDB). System warning right after GRUB command invocation looks as: root@servername:~# grub -bash: grub: command not found How it could be? (GRUB already installed and no any other OS was installed at all)

  The other day I got a virus on my laptop (Windows XP), but Adaware found it and removed it. Not soon enough though, because it corrupted my rundll32.exe file. Now I can't run almost any application and I have tried to install a couple programs to fix my registry, but I can't even run the install file. I do currently run a 2003 KMS host that serves Office 2010, Server 2008, and Windows 7.   Why would BitDefender Bootable Rescue CD (and loads of other Rescue CDs too) be able to identify but unable to fix or delete malware? It can however put it into quarintine. And what happens when the viruses are put into quarintine? It dosn't really mean anything if it can successfully put the malware into quarintine if it's a CD-bootable OS. It's only quarintined in the context of the memory it exists in. When I restart windows, I'm still infected with loads of viruses. Thanks Dave

• Is it possible to boot from a passthrough lsi2008 under esxi?

  I currently have Solaris 11 Express running on bare metal. I'd like to convert the machine to an ESXI host and run the existing os as a virtual machine. I have ESXI setup, the virtual machine made, if I boot the vm from the recovery disk the drives and lsi2008 controller is visible. Everything looks like it should work, but the vm bios does not seem to try and boot from the controller. Is this just impossible?

  I have vinyl record rip in 24/96 flac format. Each track is almost 200 MB big, so the album won't fit on CD. How to burn these files on a DVD to play with the same quality on standalone DVD player? My player supports SACD, DVD Audio and DVD video as well. My OS is Ubuntu Lucid (preferred), but I have also WinXp with Nero installed. BTW, is there any difference between DVD+ and DVD- for audio?

  I have a Lenovo T500 laptop with an Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN I have Win 7 Enterprise installed as the OS Inside that Win 7 install, I have installed VmWare Workstation (8.0.0 build-471780) Inside the VmWare, I have installed BackTrack 5 (BT5r1-GNOME-64) Under the VmWare settings, I have Bridged Mode Enabled for the Network Adapter In BT5r1-GNOME-64, under the Wicd Network Manager, it says "No wireless networks found" What do I fix so that it can find the wireless networks? Is the issue with BackTrack, VmWare, etc.?

  I have a Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard and Windows 7 Pro (Bootcamp). I have encyrpted all the company computers with truecrypt and now its the Macbooks turn. Will Truecrypt only encrypt the Win 7 partition and will it disable Bootcamp, or would it install after Bootcamp, whereby after I select either the OS X or Windows partition under Bootcamp, the Truecrypt encryption for Win 7 would be activated?
