  • jQueryUI: Sortable <thead> messes up ie ANY IE when css display property is set to RELATIVE

    - by Zlatev
    As the title describes most of the problem. Here is the example code that works as expected in Firefox. Could someone provide a workaround or fix? In action JavaScript $(function() { $('table thead').sortable({ items: 'th', containment: 'document', helper: 'clone', cursor: 'move', placeholder: 'placeHold', start: function(e, ui) { $overlay=$('<div>').css({ position: 'fixed', left: 0, top: 0, backgroundColor: 'black', opacity: 0.4, width: '100%', height: '100%', zIndex: 500 }).attr('id','sortOverlay').prependTo(document.body); $(this).parent().css({ position: 'relative', zIndex: 1000}); }, stop: function(e, ui){ $('#sortOverlay').remove(); $(this).parent().css({ position: 'static' }); } }); }); CSS <style type="text/css"> table { background-color: #f3f3f3; } table thead { background-color: #c1c1c1; } .placeHold { background-color: white; } </style> HTML <table> <thead><th>th1</th><th>th2</th><th>th3</th><th>th4</th></thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>content</td><td>content</td><td>content</td><td>content</td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

  • Deselect dates in ASP.NET Calendar Control

    - by yomismo
    I'm trying to select and de-select dates on a C# Web Calendar control. The problem I have is that I can select or deselect dates except when there is only a single date selected. Clicking on it does not trigger the selection changed event, so Ineed to do something on the dayrender event but I'm not sure what or how. Edit: Added the Pre_Render event code. This seems to work now, however it seems a little bit erratic,e.g. select date A : OK Select date B :OK deselect them both: OK select date A: Does not work, need to select it twice deselect date A : Ok Select Date C: dates A and c are selected @John Yes, I am aware that the control is part of the .NET 2.0 framework and nothing to do with C# per se. Code so far: public static List<DateTime> list = new List<DateTime>(); protected void Calendar1_DayRender(object sender, DayRenderEventArgs e) { if (e.Day.IsSelected == true) { list.Add(e.Day.Date); } Session["SelectedDates"] = list; } protected void Calendar1_SelectionChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { DateTime selection = Calendar1.SelectedDate; if (Session["SelectedDates"] != null) { List<DateTime> newList = (List<DateTime>)Session["SelectedDates"]; foreach (DateTime dt in newList) { Calendar1.SelectedDates.Add(dt); } if (searchdate(selection, newList)) { Calendar1.SelectedDates.Remove(selection); } list.Clear(); } } public bool searchdate(DateTime date, List<DateTime> dates) { var query = from o in dates where o.Date == date select o; if (query.ToList().Count == 0) { return false; } else { return true; } } protected void Calendar1_PreRender(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (Calendar1.SelectedDates.Count == 1) { foreach (DateTime dt in list) { if (searchdate(dt, list) && list.Count == 1) { Calendar1.SelectedDates.Clear(); break; } } } }

  • xcode may not respond to warning

    - by Frames84
    Hi all, Can't seem to get rid of a warning. The warning is: 'UIImage' may not respond to '-scaleToSize' above the @implmentation MyViewController I have this @implementation: @implementation UIImage (scale) -(UIImage*)scaleToSize:(CGSize)size { UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(size); [self drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, size.width, size.height)]; UIImage* scaledImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); return scaledImage; } @end Then I have MyViewController implementation @implementation TodayNewsTableViewController @synthesize dataList; ...... - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *MainNewsCellIdentifier = @"MainNewsCellIdentifier"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: MainNewsCellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle reuseIdentifier: MainNewsCellIdentifier] autorelease]; } NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; NSDictionary *stream = (NSDictionary *) [dataList objectAtIndex:row]; NSString *title = [stream valueForKey:@"title"]; if( ! • Caching sitemaps in django

    - by michuk
    I implemented a simple sitemap class using django's default sitemap app. As it was taking a long time to execute, I added manual caching: class ShortReviewsSitemap(Sitemap): changefreq = "hourly" priority = 0.7 def items(self): # try to retrieve from cache result = get_cache(CACHE_SITEMAP_SHORT_REVIEWS, "sitemap_short_reviews") if result!=None: return result result = ShortReview.objects.all().order_by("-created_at") # store in cache set_cache(CACHE_SITEMAP_SHORT_REVIEWS, "sitemap_short_reviews", result) return result def lastmod(self, obj): return obj.updated_at The problem is that memcache allows only max 1MB object. This one was bigger that 1MB, so storing into cache failed: >7 SERVER_ERROR object too large for cache The problem is that django has an automated way of deciding when it should divide the sitemap file into smalled ones. According to the docs (http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/sitemaps/): You should create an index file if one of your sitemaps has more than 50,000 URLs. In this case, Django will automatically paginate the sitemap, and the index will reflect that. What do you think would be the best way to enable caching sitemaps? - Hacking into django sitemaps framework to restrict a single sitemap size to, let's say, 10,000 records seems like the best idea. Why was 50,000 chosen in the first place? Google advice? random number? - Or maybe there is a way to allow memcached store bigger files? - Or perhaps onces saved, the sitemaps should be made available as static files? This would mean that instead of caching with memcached I'd have to manually store the results in the filesystem and retrieve them from there next time when the sitemap is requested (perhaps cleaning the directory daily in a cron job). All those seem very low level and I'm wondering if an obvious solution exists...

  • How to draw a circle in java with a radius and points around the edge

    - by windopal
    Hi, I'm really stuck on how to go about programming this. I need to draw a circle within a JFrame with a radius and points around the circumference. i can mathematically calculate how to find the coordinates of the point around the edge but i cant seem to be able to program the circle. I am currently using a Ellipse2D method but that doesn't seem to work and doesn't return a radius, as under my understanding, it doesn't draw the circle from the center rather from a starting coordinate using a height and width. My current code is on a separate frame but i need to add it to my existing frame. import java.awt.*; import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.geom.*; public class circle extends JFrame { public circle() { super("circle"); setSize(410, 435); setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); Panel sp = new Panel(); Container content = getContentPane(); content.add(sp); setContentPane(content); setVisible(true); } public static void main (String args[]){ circle sign = new circle(); } } class Panel extends JPanel { public void paintComponent(Graphics comp) { super.paintComponent(comp); Graphics2D comp2D = (Graphics2D) comp; comp2D.setColor(Color.red); Ellipse2D.Float sign1 = new Ellipse2D.Float(0F, 0F, 350F, 350F); comp2D.fill(sign1); } }

  • is this uibutton autoreleased ?

    - by dubbeat
    HI This is just a question to check my sanity really. I'm hunting memory leaks that show up in instruments but not the static analyzer. In one spot the analyzer is pointing to this block of code UIButton *randomButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect ]; randomButton.frame = CGRectMake(205, 145, 90, 22); // size and position of button [randomButton setTitle:@"Random" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; randomButton.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; randomButton.adjustsImageWhenHighlighted = YES; [randomButton addTarget:self action:@selector(getrandom:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [self.view addSubview:randomButton]; For some reason I thought the above code would auto release the button because I'm not calling init or alloc? If I add [randombutton release] at the bottom of the code my button fails to show. Could somebody describe to me the correct way to release a button from memory that is created in the above way? Or would I be better off making the button a class variable and sticking the release in the dealloc method?

  • Advantages/Disadvantages of different implementations for Comparing Objects using .NET

    - by Kevin Crowell
    This questions involves 2 different implementations of essentially the same code. First, using delegate to create a Comparison method that can be used as a parameter when sorting a collection of objects: class Foo { public static Comparison<Foo> BarComparison = delegate(Foo foo1, Foo foo2) { return foo1.Bar.CompareTo(foo2.Bar); }; } I use the above when I want to have a way of sorting a collection of Foo objects in a different way than my CompareTo function offers. For example: List<Foo> fooList = new List<Foo>(); fooList.Sort(BarComparison); Second, using IComparer: public class BarComparer : IComparer<Foo> { public int Compare(Foo foo1, Foo foo2) { return foo1.Bar.CompareTo(foo2.Bar); } } I use the above when I want to do a binary search for a Foo object in a collection of Foo objects. For example: BarComparer comparer = new BarComparer(); List<Foo> fooList = new List<Foo>(); Foo foo = new Foo(); int index = fooList.BinarySearch(foo, comparer); My questions are: What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of these implementations? What are some more ways to take advantage of each of these implementations? Is there a way to combine these implementations in such a way that I do not need to duplicate the code? Can I achieve both a binary search and an alternative collection sort using only 1 of these implementations?

  • NPE with logging while launching webstart on jre7 update 40

    - by atulsm
    My application was running fine until I upgraded my jre to 7u40. When my application is initializing, it's doing Logger.getLogger("ClassName"), and I'm getting the following exception. java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError at java.util.logging.Logger.demandLogger(Unknown Source) at java.util.logging.Logger.getLogger(Unknown Source) at com.company.Application.Applet.<clinit>(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.executeApplication(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.executeMainClass(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.doLaunchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at java.util.logging.Logger.setParent(Unknown Source) at java.util.logging.LogManager$6.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.util.logging.LogManager.doSetParent(Unknown Source) at java.util.logging.LogManager.access$1100(Unknown Source) at java.util.logging.LogManager$LogNode.walkAndSetParent(Unknown Source) at java.util.logging.LogManager$LoggerContext.addLocalLogger(Unknown Source) at java.util.logging.LogManager$LoggerContext.addLocalLogger(Unknown Source) at java.util.logging.LogManager.addLogger(Unknown Source) at java.util.logging.LogManager$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.util.logging.LogManager.<clinit>(Unknown Source) The exception is coming from this line: private static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(Applet.class.getName()); Could it be because of any sideeffects with fix http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=8017174 ? A workaround is to open the java control center and enable logging. This is a concern since by default "Enable Logging" is unchecked. If I select "Enable Logging", the application starts fine.

  • write html content from javascript

    - by Nikita Rybak
    There's one thing I want to do with javascript, but don't know how. In a perfect world it would look like this: <p>My very cool page!</p> <script type="text/javascript"> document.write('<div>some content</div>'); </script> And this script would insert <div>some content</div> right before (or after, or instead of) script tag. But in the real world, document.write starts writing html anew, removing any static content in the page (<p> tag, in this case). This is simplified example, but should give you the idea. I know that I can statically put <div id="some_id"></div> before script tag and insert html in it from js, but I wanna be able to use multiple instances of this snippet without changing it (generating random id manually) each time. I'm ok to use jquery or any other existing library as well. Is there any way to achieve this? Thanks!

  • Unable to find reference to std library math function inside library

    - by Alex Marshall
    Hello, I've got several programs that use shared libraries. Those shared libraries in turn use various standard C libraries. ie Program A and Program B both use Shared Library S. Shared Library S uses std C math. I want to be able to statically link Shared Library S against the standard library, and then statically link Programs A and B against S so that I don't have to be dragging around the library files, because these programs are going to be running on an embedded system running BusyBox 0.61. However, when I try to statically link the programs against Shared Library S, I get an error message from GCC stating : ../lib/libgainscalecalc.a(gainscalecalc.): In function 'float2gs': [path to my C file].c:73: undefined reference to 'log' Can somebody please help me out ? In the CharTableController's view is the TableView in IB obviously. Reference Object in dataSource TableView and delegate TableView. What's wrong with my setting? thz.

  • Connecting Error to Remote Oracle XE database using ASP.NET

    - by imsatasia
    Hello, I have installed Oracle XE on my Development machine and it is working fine. Then I installed Oracle XE client on my Test machine which is also working fine and I can access Development PC database from Browser. Now, I want to create an ASP.Net application which can access that Oracle XE database. I tried it too, but it always shows me an error on my TEST machine to connect database to the Development Machine using ASP.Net. Here is my code for ASP.Net application: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { string connectionString = GetConnectionString(); OracleConnection connection = new OracleConnection(connectionString); connection.Open(); Label1.Text = "State: " + connection.State; Label1.Text = "ConnectionString: " + connection.ConnectionString; OracleCommand command = connection.CreateCommand(); string sql = "SELECT * FROM Users"; command.CommandText = sql; OracleDataReader reader = command.ExecuteReader(); while (reader.Read()) { string myField = (string)reader["nID"]; Console.WriteLine(myField); } } static private string GetConnectionString() { // To avoid storing the connection string in your code, // you can retrieve it from a configuration file. return "User Id=System;Password=admin;Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=" + "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myServerAddress)(PORT=1521))" + "(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=)));"; }

  • How close can I get C# to the performance of C++ for small intensive tasks?

    - by SLC
    I was thinking about the speed difference of C++ to C# being mostly about C# compiling to byte-code that is taken in by the JIT compiler (is that correct?) and all the checks C# does. I notice that it is possible to turn a lot of these functions off, both in the compile options, and possibly through using the unsafe keyword as unsafe code is not verifiable by the common language runtime. Therefore if you were to write a simple console application in both languages, that flipped an imaginary coin an infinite number of times and displayed the results to the screen every 10,000 or so iterations, how much speed difference would there be? I chose this because it's a very simple program. I'd like to test this but I don't know C++ or have the tools to compile it. This is my C# version though: static void Main(string[] args) { unsafe { Random rnd = new Random(); int heads = 0, tails = 0; while (true) { if (rnd.NextDouble() > 0.5) heads++; else tails++; if ((heads + tails) % 1000000 == 0) Console.WriteLine("Heads: {0} Tails: {1}", heads, tails); } } } Is the difference enough to warrant deliberately compiling sections of code "unsafe" or into DLLs that do not have some of the compile options like overflow checking enabled? Or does it go the other way, where it would be beneficial to compile sections in C++? I'm sure interop speed comes into play too then. To avoid subjectivity, I reiterate the specific parts of this question as: Does C# have a performance boost from using unsafe code? Do the compile options such as disabling overflow checking boost performance, and do they affect unsafe code? Would the program above be faster in C++ or negligably different? Is it worth compiling long intensive number-crunching tasks in a language such as C++ or using /unsafe for a bonus? Less subjectively, could I complete an intensive operation faster by doing this?

  • Commit is VERY slow in my NHibernate / SQLite project

    - by Tom Bushell
    I've just started doing some real-world performance testing on my Fluent NHibernate / SQLite project, and am experiencing some serious delays when when I Commit to the database. By serious, I mean taking 20 - 30 seconds to Commit 30 K of data! This delay seems to get worse as the database grows. When the SQLite DB file is empty, commits happen almost instantly, but when it grows to 10 Meg, I see these huge delays. The database has 16 tables, averaging 10 columns each. One possible problem is that I'm storing a dozen or so IList members, but they are typically only 200 elements long. But this is a recent addition to Fluent NHibernate automapping, which stores each float in a single table row, so maybe that's a potential problem. Any suggestions on how to track this down? I suspect SQLite is the culprit, but maybe it's NHibernate? I don't have any experience with profilers, but am thinking of getting one. I'm aware of NHibernate Profiler - any recommendations for profilers that work well with SQLite? Here's the method that saves the data - it's just a SaveOrUpdate call and a Commit, if you ignore all the error handling and debug logging. public static void SaveMeasurement(object measurement) { Debug.WriteLine("\r\n---SaveMeasurement---"); // Get the application's database session var session = GetSession(); using (var transaction = session.BeginTransaction()) { try { session.SaveOrUpdate(measurement); } catch (Exception e) { throw new ApplicationException( "\r\n SaveMeasurement->SaveOrUpdate failed\r\n\r\n", e); } try { Debug.WriteLine("\r\n---Commit---"); transaction.Commit(); Debug.WriteLine("\r\n---Commit Complete---"); } catch (Exception e) { throw new ApplicationException( "\r\n SaveMeasurement->Commit failed\r\n\r\n", e); } } }

Populate DataSet mSqlDataAdapter.Fill(myDataSet, "DataSet"); tblMyTable = myDataSet.Tables[0]; } catch (Exception ex) { } finally { //6. Clear objects if ((mSqlDataAdapter != null)) { mSqlDataAdapter.Dispose(); } if ((mSqlCommand != null)) { mSqlCommand.Dispose(); } if ((mSqlConnection != null)) { mSqlConnection.Close(); mSqlConnection.Dispose(); } } //7. Return DataSet return tblMyTable; } I use the above code to return records from database. The above snippet would run in web application which expected to have around 5000 visitors daily. The records returned reach 20,000 or over. The returned records are viewed (read-only) in paged GridView. Would it be better to use DataReader instead of DataTable? NOTE: two columns in the GridView are hyperlinked.

  • How do I write test code to exercise a C# generic Pair<TKey, TValue> ?

    - by Scott Davies
    Hi, I am reading through Jon Skeet's "C# in Depth", first edition (which is a great book). I'm in section 3.3.3, page 84, "Implementing Generics". Generics always confuse me, so I wrote some code to exercise the sample. The code provided is: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; public sealed class Pair<TFirst, TSecond> : IEquatable<Pair<TFirst, TSecond>> { private readonly TFirst first; private readonly TSecond second; public Pair(TFirst first, TSecond second) { this.first = first; this.second = second; } ...property getters... public bool Equals(Pair<TFirst, TSecond> other) { if (other == null) { return false; } return EqualityComparer<TFirst>.Default.Equals(this.First, other.First) && EqualityComparer<TSecond>.Default.Equals(this.Second, other.Second); } My code is: class MyClass { public static void Main (string[] args) { // Create new pair. Pair thePair = new Pair(new String("1"), new String("1")); // Compare a new pair to previous pair by generating a second pair. if (thePair.Equals(new Pair(new string("1"), new string("1")))) System.Console.WriteLine("Equal"); else System.Console.WriteLine("Not equal"); } } The compiler complains: "Using the generic type 'ManningListing36.Paie' requires 2 type argument(s) CS0305" What am I doing wrong ? Thanks, Scott

  • Loading a class file immediately AFTER startup

    - by Striker
    We have a few war files deployed inside an ear file. Some of the war files have a class that caches static data from our PLM system in singletons. Since some of the classes take several minutes to load we use the load-on-startup in the web.xml to load them ahead of time. This all works fine until we attempt to re-deploy the application on our production servers. (WebLogic 10.3) We get an exception from our PLM API about a dll already being loaded. Our PLM vendor has confirmed that this is a problem and stated that they don't support using the load-on-startup. This is also a huge problem on our development boxes where we have redeploy the app all the time. Most of us, when we're not working on one of the apps that uses a cache, have them commented out. Obviously we can't do that for the production servers. Right now we transfer the ear to the production server, deploy it in the console, wait for it to crash, shut the app server instance down and then start it up again. We need to find a way around this... One suggestion was to create a servlet that we can call after the server boots that will load the various caches. While this will work I'm looking for something a bit cleaner. Is there anyway to detect once the server started and then fire off the methods? Thanks.

  • Facebook XFBML Like Button incompatible with FeatureLoader script?

    - by retailevolved
    Facebook gurus, I have been implementing the Facebook Like button for a number of clients lately. To enable the Like Button, the following script has to be run: <div id="fb-root"></div> <script> window.fbAsyncInit = function() { FB.init({appId: '<?php echo Mage::helper("evlike")->getLikeConfig("ev_facebook_app_id") ?>', xfbml: true}); }; (function() { var e = document.createElement('script'); e.async = true; e.src = document.location.protocol + '//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js'; document.getElementById('fb-root').appendChild(e); }()); </script> It seems that this is incompatible with the following include: <script src="http://static.ak.connect.facebook.com/js/api_lib/v0.4/FeatureLoader.js.php/en_US" type="text/javascript"></script> It would make sense as I believe that the FeatureLoader performs an initialization. Is this official now? I would ask in official Facebook forums but I get an error every time I attempt to do so...

  • How can I search an XML file without a dynamic language?

    - by jeph perro
    Let me try to explain my situation: We are using a CMS which 'bakes' a website, and you publish it to a webserver. The published site contains only static HTML ( or XML ) pages ( generated from the content in the CMS database ). I imported an XML file with the names and phone numbers from the company phone directory. Using only XSLT, can I create a way to search that directory? For example, if my XML file, directory.xml looks like this: <directory> <person> <fname>Ryan</fname> <lname>Purple</lname> <phone>887 778 5544</phone> </person> <person> <fname>Tanya</fname> <lname>Orange</lname> <phone>887 998 5541</phone> </person> <directory> Can I create a way to search for a person with the last name starting with "Pur" ? Can I pass a parameter to the XSLT? Can I search the XML tree to match the string in the parameter?

    - by Meko
    Hi.I am making an app that it takes photos from web site for some Username and shows it on UITable with username then when clicking user name it shows photos for this user and then clicking to name of photo it shows full screen photo. My question is I am using NSData to get photos from internet.Am I have to save also those data to CoreDAta? I am using like when pressing name of user it again creates NSData and downloads photos from internet and shows them on UTable. And it takes time. What is good approach? and How can save this images to CoreDAta? I am using this method NSData *imageData=[flickr dataForPhotoID:firstPhoto.id fromFarm:firstPhoto.farm onServer:firstPhoto.server withSecret:firstPhoto.secret inFormat: FlickrFetcherPhotoFormatSquare]; and here definition of dataForPtohoID method - (NSData *)dataForPhotoID:(NSString *)photoID fromFarm:(NSString *)farm onServer:(NSString *)server withSecret:(NSString *)secret inFormat:(FlickrFetcherPhotoFormat)format { #if TEST_HIGH_NETWORK_LATENCY sleep(1); #endif NSString *formatString; switch (format) { case FlickrFetcherPhotoFormatSquare: formatString = @"s"; break; case FlickrFetcherPhotoFormatLarge: formatString = @"b"; break; } NSString *photoURLString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://farm%@.static.flickr.com/%@/%@_%@_%@.jpg", farm, server, photoID, secret, formatString]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:photoURLString]; return [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url]; }
