  • jQuery: How can I check if a block in my document is inside the viewport or outside of it?

    I am basically trying to trigger a function if the footer is inside the viewport. How can I check whether the footer is currently visible in the viewport? I assume I will have to put it into the $(window).scroll() event so that the listener becomes true once the footer becomes visible but what the function should be I just can't figure out.     I have a string like sample.txt.pgp and I want to return sample.txt in a shell script. Is there a substr function? Like, if I did substr('sample.txt.pgp', -4, 0), is it supposed to return sample.txt? Right now it isn't, so I'm wondering if I have the syntax wrong, or maybe substr isn't a function?

    I'm using CMFCOutlookBar from the Feature Pack, and I'm trying to put an icon on the "button" of the tabbed pane - the thing that slides up and down in the bar, when you select a pane. The pane API includes a "SetIcon" function, but this doesn't do anything as far as I can tell. Neither does the "SetTabHicon" function of the bar. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Hi I have an ASP.NET MVC Page with a button called "Start Live Meeting". When the User clicks on this button, it calls a controller method called "StartLiveMeeting" that returns a string. If the controller returns empty string, then i want the Timer to call the Controller method until it returns the string. I am using jquery.timer.js plugin ( http://plugins.jquery.com/files/jquery.timers-1.2.js.txt ) On the button click, the controller method is being called. But Timer is not initiating. I have specified 5sec to call the controller method. I appreciate your responses.     I am using this tutorial to create a login form http://www.ryancoughlin.com/2008/11/04/use-jquery-to-submit-form/ It authenticates against w/ our ldap server. What I am having a problem with is the line success: function(){ $('form#submit').hide(function(){$('div.success').fadeIn();}); It runs success even though we don't even know if the username and password binded successfully. Is there a way to only run success if the username and password posted was binded successfully?

  • Adding simple marker clusterer to google map

    Hi, I'm having problems with adding marker clusterer functionality to my map. What I want is to use custom icon for my markers and every marker has its own info window which I want to be able to edit. I did accomplish that, but now I have problems adding marker clusterer library functionality. I read something about adding markers to array, but I'm not sure what would it exactly mean. Besides, all of the examples with array I have found, don't have info windows and searching through the code I didn't find appropriate way to add them.     I'm a noob with jQuery...and I hope I've explained this well enough; I have a <ul> header that appears when I've added an entry to a dynamically created list using $.post. Each entry added has a delete/edit button associated with it. Header is this: <ul class="header"> <li>Month</li> <li>Year</li> <li>Cottage</li> </ul> My dynamic list that is created: <ul class="addedItems"> <li>Month</li> <li>Year</li> <li>Cottage</li> <li><span class="edit">edit</span></li> <li><span class="del">delete</span></li> </ul> This all looks like this: Month Year Cottage <--this appears after I've added an entry -------------------------------- and I want it to stick around unless all items are deleted. Dec 1990 Fir edit/delete <--entries Jan 2000 Willow edit/delete My question is: Is there some kind of conditional that I can use with jQuery to hide the class="header" if all the items are deleted? I've read up on conditional statements like is and not with jq but I'm not really understanding how they work. All of the items in class="addedItems" is stored in data produced by JSON.     Hi, I've run into an issue porting a codebase from linux (gcc) to windows (msvc). It seems like the C99 function vsscanf isn't available and has no obvious replacement. I've read about a solution using the internal function _input_l and linking statically to the crt runtime, but unfortunately I cannot link statically since it would mess with all the plugins (as dlls) being loaded by the application. So is there any replacement or a way to write a wrapper for vsscanf?

    I have a form that adds links to a database, deletes them, and -- soon -- allows the user to edit details. I am using jQuery and Ajax heavily on this project and would like to keep all control in the same page. In the past, to handle editing something like details about another website (link entry), I would have sent the user to another PHP page with form fields populated with PHP from a MySQL database table. How do I accomplish this using a jQuery UI modal form and calling the details individually for that particular entry?     Erm. I hope I am seriously overlooking something. I want to rotate a 2d vector (kartesian) v by a certain angle phi. I can't find a function that generates the appropriate matrix or just performs that function. I know how to do this by hand. I am looking for a ublas utility "something" that does this for me.

What is the fastest/most efficient way to do this - is there a jQuery/js method that is reasonable for a large number of items? Or do I need to reengineer the Django code to do the work before passing it to the template?
