  • Move Windows 8 onscreen keyboard?

    From the first look, it seems that the onscreen keyboard in Windows 8 cannot be moved from its default position at the bottom of the screen: However, sometimes it obstructs the input field and should be repositioned (see iOS 5's screenshots for examples) So the question is, can it actually move? If it can, how can I do that? If it cannot, is it possible to use the keyboard to fill an input field that is underneath it?

    Hello, As a paper saving drive throughout the organization, we plan to set 2 page printing as default setting on all the windows machines. I would like to contribute to this by writing a small script that can do that for all the machines, maybe send an email to all the users, and let them run the batch file. Is that possible, can you please guide me. I have no knowledge about windows scripting, I program in java for my living. Thanks for your time.

    I'm going to be distributing instructions on how to access our new Subversion repository with TortoiseSVN. Because it's hosted on Windows, and we have some large files in the repository, we have to use the Serf HTTP library instead of neon. This is normally specified by manually editing the Subversion "servers" file on the client machine and adding the line http-library=serf Is there a way I can customize the TortoiseSVN installer to do this automatically? I'm just trying to get it up and running as easy as possible for our new SVN users.

  • How to convert an Outlook 2007 .ost file to a .pst file, so I can open it in another, local computer?

    I have a couple of backed up .pst and .ost files that were used with a server that is not accessible anymore. On my local machine, I was able to Add... the .pst file to my fresh Outlook 2007 and access the emails. However, adding an .ost file does not seem to be an options in the Accounts Settings dialog. Is it possible to import the .ost file, or convert it to a .pst w/o the aid of the exchange server?

    Is it possible to set up a distro list on an exchange server to send a blind copy to one of the recipients? For example: I'd like to have a distro go to Help, Support, and IT. However, I don't want the sender to know it goes to Help if they expand the distro in the To: field. I know this is most likely impossible, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

    Hi I'm a used Ubuntu user on a pc, and I like the french keyboard layout because it allows me to type accentued characters easily. I found a win-fr keyboard layout but it's much like windows and not so good. I found xmodmap.fr keyboard layout and I'd like to know if it was possible use it with my Mac SL 10.6.5, maybe I could do xmodmap xmodmap.fr or a way to convert to mac layout file. Any ideas?!

    hi, what information should i know to do the following: we will have 2 servers, each one will have a cPanel WHM installed and 2 will have DNS, we want to insure that redundancy is achieved on both servers, means the servers should work as active/standby unit. 2 cPanel active/standby 2 DNS active/standby also does this have any impact on the mySQL database, do we have to buy another server to use it as the mySQL database or it's possible to sync all the cPanel information from one server to another. thank you.

    I've been testing deployment for a website with some virtual servers. I have most of my deployment steps done via kickstart file (package installation and user creation). However, for MySQL I have to: Run mysql_secure_installation (sets up root password, deletes anonymous users, disallows root login remotely, removes test databases) ./ Then, create the website's databases and the database user. I'm not sure if this is possible in kickstart---especially the prompts in mysql_secure_installation. Perhaps someone has some suggestions or examples?

  • Mercurial (hg) commit only certain files

    Hi I'm trying to commit only certain files with hg. Because of of hg having auto-add whenever I try to commit a change it wants to commit all files. But I don't want that because certain files are not "ready" yet. There is hg commit -I thefile.foo, but this is only for one file. The better way for me would be if I can turn off auto-add as in git. The installation has been steadily upgraded but for various reasons, we want to start again on a new server with a clean install from the distribution media. Will I be able to take a backup from the old server and restore it to the new server, even though the installs are different versions? How sensitive are FreePBX backups to the build version? Is it possible to get at least a partial restore?

    I am trying to watch some videos stored on my desktop computer on the Xbox, but they are in a format that the Xbox cannot decode, so I have to stream them through Windows Media Center. However, as soon as I set up Media Center on the Xbox, anyone can go in and browse the directory structure on my desktop.     I just purchased a new ultrabook (Asus UX32VD). Awesome laptop, but I am having trouble using it with its native resolution being 1920 x 1080. Text is so small and hard to read. I have increased the text size in the display options but it don't really improve it for all scenarios, especially in webpages. I am wondering if there is a possible solution to this? Simply lowering the resolution makes everything look pixelated.

When I click on the update directory, I get an access denied message, even though my account has admin privileges (XP Home).
