• How do I include 2 tables in one LocalStorage item?

  I've got a table that you can edit, and I've got a simple code saving that list when you're done with editing it. (the tables have the contenteditable on) The problem I've stumbled upon is that if I double click on enter, the table gets divided into two separate tables with the same ID. This causes the code I'm using to set the localStorage to only store one of the tables (I assume the first).. I've thought of different solutions and I wonder if someone could point out the pro's and con's (if the solutions even works that is). Make a loop that checks the page after tables and stores them into an array of localStorage-items.. I'd have to dynamically create a localStorage item for each table. Take the whole div that the tables are in, and store that in the localStorage, when a user revisits the page, the page checks after the items in storage and displays the whole divs. Any suggestions you have that can beat this :).. (but no cache, it has to be with the localStorage!) Thanks

• source control when starting up a new project

  when starting with a project and using source control i find it hard to separate the things people are working on so they don't either write duplicate code or think it should be named one thing and so on. this problem diminishes over time because the general foundation is in place and it's easier to separate the tasks so they don't overlap as much how do you manage working with source control in the beginning phase? EDIT: I can see that it don't really have anything to do with source control, but it gets more apparent when you have source control too. so the question becomes more along the lines of "how do you manage to separate the tasks so they don't overlap too much. I think it's really hard and i haven't really seen much about how to do it.

• git rebase branch with all subbranches

  is it possible to rebase a branch with all it's subbranches in git? i often use branches as quick/mutable tags to mark certain commits. * master * * featureA-finished * * origin/master now i want to rebase -i master onto origin/master, to change/reword the commit featureA-finished^ after git rebase -i --onto origin/master origin/master master, i basically want the history to be: * master * * featureA-finished * (changed/reworded) * origin/master but what i get is: * master * * (same changeset as featureA-finished) * (changed/reworded) | * featureA-finished |.* (original commit i wanted to edit) * origin/master is there a way around it, or am i stuck with recreating the branches on the new rebased commits?

• Monitoring folders for changes

  I'm working on a project that will require an application that watches a list of directories the user specifies for changes. Also, I'd like to give the users the option of running the application as a service or on an individual basis. Since users can choose to run it on an individual basis I don't think listening for some operating system event triggered by the addition or deletion of files (if such events exist) would be sufficient. I thought about maybe calculating a checksum for the deepest folder and then building up. I could then compare these checksums on subsequent scans to try and pinpoint where the changes have occurred. Would that be an appropriate solution; if not what would be the best way of doing this in an efficient manner? Also, I'm not quite sure what to tag this as so if you have any recommendations let me know and I'll as them as I see fit. EDIT: I'll need this method to work on Windows, OS X, and ideally Linux

• Fast, lightweight XML parser

  I have a specific format XML document that I will get pushed. This document will always be the same type so it's very strict. I need to parse this so that I can convert it into JSON (well, a slightly bastardized version so someone else can use it with DOJO). My question is, shall I use a very fast lightweight (no need for SAX, etc.) XML parser (any ideas?) or write my own, basically converting into a StringBuffer and spinning through the array? Basically, under the covers I assume all HTML parsers will spin thru the string (or memory buffer) and parse, producing output on the way through. • Weird Workflow Behavior in Sharepoint 2007

  I have a Document Library A and a list B. When a document added to A, an item is created in B with the Title = A.Url. Another workflow runs whenever a document is updated in A which makes a lookup: B.Title = A.Url, and changes another column in B in found item. Item Change Workflow always gives "Error Occurred: List item is not found". I modified the workflow to send me an e-mail containing the new (but unchanged) A.Url. It sent me the exact string with the one already in list B. Anyways, why it can't find the item when the two columns are equal? Thanks in advance. Edit I literally hate Microsoft Sharepoint.

• VB.NET Application which can compile and run C programs

  These days I'm working on a VB.NET application which can be used to edit, compile and run C programs. Can someone tell me how I can call a cl.exe process from within my VB program and also that how do I run the program in the console widow itself. Presently I have only the editor ready. With that one can type in a program and save it with a ".c" extension. Now there are 2 buttons on my form - "Compile" and "Run". When the user clicks on the "Compile" button, the program should be passed to the cl.exe process and the errors should be displayed in another textbox or the DOS(black screen itself). And when the user clicks on the "Run" button, the ".exe" file which just got created should get executed.

  Hello, My team is small, only two programmers.We both share one source ,but we live in different places.The problem is that Meanwhile I make changes on our project,the other team worker makes changes as well.It's very hard to write down every change,at least for us. When we decide we've made an important change,we contact each other sending the whole project's source. This is not good,because: The files sent from one do not contain the changes that the other worker has been working on meanwhile. We host the source on free servers,thus makes it possible for other to see the files.It will be VERY much better if only few(those that are changed) files are being uploaded rather than the whole project. • Using emacs across many hosts

  On a daily basis I: use multiple workstations running either Linux, Windows, or MacOS X edit files on additional Linux hosts that are not any of the workstations mentioned above The only common element here is that the internet connects all of these hosts: workstations and servers. I can keep all of the config files in sync on my workstations too and can run an X server on all of them. What's the right way of running emacs? I don't want to sacrifice any features. In my ideal world I can type 'emacs foo.txt' on a remote host and some magic happens via X forwarding to display the file in my workstation's existing emacs session. Non-solutions tramp: when I'm manipulating a remote host an editor is just part of my workflow. I need a terminal open so I can run other commands quickly. tramp is all wrong for this. ncurses emacs: sucks, I want the graphical kind If you don't have a positive answer to my question, please don't just guess.   I recently started picking up VI, going through some tutorials and trying to get used to it. But I still have some questions about it. It seems to be nice for small one file changes, but as soon as I start to try doing bigger things it seems to be lacking. For example I'm used to have code formatting, import organizing, simple overview over all packages and other things that an IDE gives me. I saw some tutorials on how to use VI as an IDE, but it felt awkward at best. Now I'm just wondering, what are the typical use cases for VI? Is it typically used to edit small files, or can it be used for larger projects? And if you use it in larger projects, how do you make it work? Or would it be a lot easier to use an IDE with VI keybindings?

• Passing parameters thru Ruby's OAuth

  I'm using Mirven's Twitter OAuth Sinatra example and trying to figure out how I can send a 'next page' parameter with the Oauth request: ie. The user attempts to visit /edit/profile which requires a login so I redirect to /request which deals with login via twitter - I now want to be able to redirect the user to the address they were originally looking for if they log in successfully. I thought I could do this in the .get_request_token line with this code: @request_token = @consumer.get_request_token({:oauth_callback => "http://#{request.host}/auth"},{:next => params['next'] || '/'}) But params has no additional items in the /auth handler. I'm new to OAuth, how would I go about doing this?

If it is, output the index at which the contents of the second array appear in the first. If you do not find the second array in the first, then output -1.   I'm using the Blueprint CSS grid for my HTML page. I have a table which I want to show/hide - linking it to a button, using jQuery. The problem is that everytime I click on the button to show/hide the table, everything on the page shifts slightly left-right. Is this a common problem? Does anyone know what could be causing this and what I could do to fix the other elements of the page such that they do not move? Edit: grammar.

Coding styles are often used for specific program languages and some styles in one coding language might not be considered appropriate for others. Of course some coding standards can be applied across many different program languages. • Rmagick Fails To Manipulate PNG

  Following the Railscast episode on CarrierWave: I installed ImageMagick on Mountain Lion via homebrew, exported the following path: export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/opt/local/lib/pkgconfig:$PKG_CONFIG_PATH" Symlinked the following: ln -s /usr/local/include/ImageMagick/wand /usr/local/include/wand ln -s /usr/local/include/ImageMagick/magick /usr/local/include/magick And installed rmagick via bundler. In my uploader I have the following: include CarrierWave::RMagick version :thumb do process :resize_to_limit => [85, 85] end Which creates thumbnails just fine, but not for png files. I've tried a handful of png images and it always fails with this error: Failed to manipulate with rmagick, maybe it is not an image? Original Error: no decode delegate for this image format `<path>/public/uploads/tmp/20121022-2133-9885-3333/thumb_cat_vs_internet.png' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/544 jpeg images work just fine. EDIT identify -list format | grep -i png returns nothing, indicating the png decode delegate is probably missing. Now what?

• Blackberry - Can't change theme after lwuit was installed

  I've used lwuit in my j2me application and it works well. When I've converted .jar file to .cod file and install it on BB emulator, I've faced runtime error 104. Then I got the blackberry demo and lwuit.jar file included with it and when install it on BB it works well. But after I edit the theme.res file application doesn't open any more.   Hi I'm a big user of Wordpress however its not ideal for cms sites. I'm currently looking at pixie cms, however if say I want three columns, only one column can be allowed to change across pages and I can't apply specific templeates to pages. I'm also looking at impress cms which looks confusing in the admin although it has good reviews. • Recommendations for a google finance-like interactive chart control

  I need some sort of interactive chart control for my .NET-based web app. I have some wide XY charts, and the user should be able to interactively scroll and zoom into a specific window on the x axis. Something that acts similar to the google finance control would be nice, but without the need for the date labels or the news event annotations. Also, I'd prefer to avoid Flash, if that's even possible. Can someone please give some recommendations of something that might come close? EDIT: the "real" google timeline visualization is for date-based data. I just have numeric data. I tried to use that control for non-date data, but it seems to always want to show a date and demands that the first data column actually be a date.

  I have a View which extends a View provided by another plugin like this; public class View2 extends some.other.package.View1 { public void createPartControl(Composite parent) { super.createPartControl(parent); //I want to do this, but I can't because its private //getSite().setSelectionProvider(treeViewer); } } But I can't edit the super class, so I need to access the viewer from the Control. public class some.other.package.View1 extends ViewPart { private TreeViewer treeViewer; public void createPartControl(Composite parent) { treeViewer = new TreeViewer(parent, SWT.V_SCROLL); } } I tried using parent.getChildren(); to get a Tree object, but I can't see that it can be cooerced into an ISElectionProvider as required
