  • CustomValidator, pagemethods and JQuery what fun

    Hey all, I have a CustomValidator, RequiredFieldValidator and ValidationSummary controls on an aspx page to check the current password and make sure the new password is not blank. When I click submit I get the js alert() box from the summary control telling me about just the RequiredFieldValidator being false, but the client script for the CustomValidator does not seem to get its return value used. I have checked the "arguments.IsValid" value using FireBug, so it is getting called and returning the correct bool, but it never shows up in the val summary box? Thanks, Goosey

    I'm exporting a table of data to csv format, eg "COL1","COL2","COL3" "1","some text", "£232.00" "2","some more text", "£111.00" "3","other text", "£2.00" The code to export is fairly simple using an ashx handler context.Response.Clear() context.Response.ContentType = "text/csv" context.Response.AddHeader("Content-disposition", "attachment;filename=data.csv") context.Response.AddHeader("Cache-Control", "must-revalidate") context.Response.AddHeader("Pragma", "must-revalidate") context.Response.Write(data) context.Response.Flush() context.Response.End() My issue is when excel trys to open the exported file the character  appears before all £ signs, eg £232.00 when the value should be £232.00

  • Extract wav file from video file

    I am developing an application in which I need to extract the audio from a video. The audio needs to be extracted in .wav format but I do not have a problem with the video format. Any format will do, as long as I can extract the audio in a wav file. Currently I am using Windows Media Player COM control in a windows form to play the videos, but any other embedded player will do as well. Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks

  • Can I use two different look and feels in the same Swing application?

    I'm using the Flamingo ribbon and the Substance Office 2007 look and feel. Of course now every control has this look and feel, even those on dialog boxes. What I want is something like in Office 2007, where the ribbons have their Office 2007 look, but other controls keep their native Vista/XP look. Is it possible to assign certain controls a different look and feel? Perhaps using some kind of chaining or a proxy look and feel?

  • Can I pass a querystring that translates to a List<int> on the server?

    Hi all, I'm writing a Google Maps app that requests data from the server using jQuery's $.ajax() to send the request to my MVC Contoller. This control expects a List for the category types. What should the querystring look like for this? I've tried http://localhost:9090/mapamenities?amenityTypes=1,5 http://localhost:9090/mapamenities?amenityTypes=[1,5] with no luck.   • UITableViewCell indentation not in edit mode.

    When you enter editing mode on a grouped-style UITableView, the cells indent to show the editing control (if you aren't sure what I mean, see this picture (editing mode) http://i.imgur.com/GJXvL.png and this (non-editing mode) http://i.imgur.com/ahKYS.png). I am trying to manually indent a cell when the tableView is not in editing mode. I tried the indentationLevel property, but that just moves the text further to the right inside the cell and doesn't actually change the cell. Any ideas?

  • Using the HTML 'label' tag with radio buttons

    Does the label tag work with radio buttons? If so, how do you use it? I have a form that displays like this: First Name: (text field) Hair Color: (color drop-down) Description: (text area) Salutation: (radio buttons for Mr., Mrs., Miss) I'd like to use the label tag for each label in the left column to define its connection to the appropriate control in the right column. But If I use a radio button, the spec seems to indicate that suddenly the actual "Salutation" label for the form control no longer belongs in the label tag, but rather the options "Mr., Mrs., etc." go in the label tag. I've always been a fan of accessibility and the semantic web, but this design doesn't make sense to me. The label tag explicitly declares labels. The option tag selection options. How do you declare a label on the actual label for a set of radio buttons? UPDATE: Here is an example with code: <tr><th><label for"sc">Status:</label></th> <td>&#160;</td> <td><select name="statusCode" id="sc"> <option value="ON_TIME">On Time</option> <option value="LATE">Late</option> </select></td></tr> This works great.
