  • mysql on ubunto 4 is not running and is not remotely accessible

    Currently i installed ubunot on ubunto 4.4, and using following commands i can see mysql, mysqld running ps -ef | grep mysql ps -ef | grep mysqld but when I run, netstat i don't see mysql and 3306 anywhere. in my.cnf file, i have given my ip and port is 3306. also when i run this command sudo netstat -tap | grep mysql i don't see anything and commands I needed to run the mysql 5 on port 3306 and on ip=x.x.x.x for remotely accessible Looking forward to your reply

  • How to use a different partition to store Restore Points in Windows?

    I'm running Windows 7, and it's installed on a 32 GB partition which is currently running low on space (and expanding it is not an option). Windows System Restore takes up several Gigs of that space. Since I like having many restore points available, I don't want to decrease the amount of space available for system restore. So my option is to try and get Windows to save my Restore Points on a different partition. Is that possible?

    I just installed a new Thunderbird 3 on a few computers and immediately saw that i could not find the "leave messages on server" option... can anyone point that out to me ?   • How do I install Skype on computer so that anyone who logs in does NOT have to go through the initial config?

    I installed Skype when logged on to the (local) admin account. Now, when I log off that, and log on as myname on the domain, I have to click through the intial setup steps (after you've already run the installer) of Skype. So, I have to click next to get through the mic setup/test, and it asks me if I want to take a pic. How do I get it so that any person who logs in can just open Skype and go straight to the login screen? Windows 7 64 bit, 2008R2

    I have an Amazon EC2 + SSL just installed on GoDaddy. I have successfully managed to install it and get the green https on the main domain https://www.example.com however it doesn't any https://www.example.com/something but the route works under http://www.example.com I am using an .htacess file for some rewrite. Options -MultiViews RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^ index.php [L] the Ec2 instance is ubuntu if that helps in anyway.

  • win 7 back up utility cant detect external drive on a netbook

    im trying to image a new HP netbook via the windows 7 BACK UP util. however, it doesnt detect the external drive, although it's seen in my computer and BIOS. i tried using HP recovery manager with recovery disc creation but it says, no burning device installed although there is one... anyone successful in using the win7 back up utility? ive been tinkering this for a while but i cant make it right using an external dvd drive. unless i'll plug in an external hdd/

  • Better way to quad+ boot operating systems?

    I currently have Windows 7, Ubuntu 12.04, Fedora 17, and open SUSE installed. I currently use BURG boot loader to load up all the systems. However, BURG does not work with windows(I still manage) and it is a little finicky. So, I want to make windows work and have all the other OSes I want all on one boot loader. I already tried easy BCD and for whatever reason Fedora took over and blocked out the other OSes.

The 1st is here, which looks very simple, and seems it's not necessary to create a user account(useradd ...) the 2nd is here, which is a lot more complicated, and seems I need to create a user account for each svn user.     Hello I am new to ubuntu linux and am currently trying to configure my netbeans to work with PHP. I have found several tutorials to install all the applications I need and have installed a virtual directory for netbeans to run in. Unfortunately, whenever netbeans or I myself go to my local host I get an error 403. I tried modifying my settings to allow from localhost (instead of allow from all) but this did not work and am completely out of ideas.

    I've been adding a lot of things to my Vim configuration, and apparently one of the plugins I've installed is reclaiming . Whenever I use that key combination, it shows this error: "E784: Cannot close last tab page". Is there a way to reclaim 's functionality without disabling the plugins? I mainly use it for switching between view panes in a split window.

This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu I already formatted the disk with NTFS, removed it, reformatted and more... Does anyone know to resolve this error?   • why is nautilus slow?

    I'm wondering why Nautilus is very slow when opening a directory containing lots of files. My /usr/lib dir for example has 1900 files and it takes approximately 5+ seconds to show everything. It has been like this since I installed Ubuntu few months ago and it's really quite annoying sometimes. I don't have powerful hardware but I know that Windows Explorer is so much faster than this. Is there anything that can be done to speed it up? Ubuntu 10.04

    I am trying to create my own SSL hierarchy like: MyRootCA --MyIntermediateCA ----MyCert I have installed MyRootCA and MyIntermediateCA, but windows points out that MyIntermediateCA doesn't have the right to issue certs. Therefore it invalidates MyCert. i.stack.imgur.com/XDtXp.png i.stack.imgur.com/rZNQZ.png I am using sign.sh from mod_ssl package, which utilizes openssl ca command. I wonder if there is any parameter/option that grants MyIntermediateCA the right to issue sublevel certs?
