    I've already started similar topic, but still didn't find final solution... So here I am with new one :) ... I'm developing NerdDinner from scratch and now I came to point where I define DinnerViewModel. No matter what I try to add here dinners.Add(new Dinner(/*Something to add*/)); I always get following error Error 1 'Nerd.Model.Dinner' does not contain a constructor that takes '1' arguments C:\Documents and Settings\ilija\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Nerd\Nerd\Controllers\DinnerController.cs 150 25 Nerd Because I'm total beginner in C# and generally OOP, I have no idea what to do here...   • .NET Conditional Callback on a type.

    I have a stock price which changes by nature all the time. And, there will be many users who wants to buy that stock. Let's say that the stock price is started at 10 and let's say, 30 people bid for 10.98, 20 people bid for 7.45, 100 people bid for 8.99. During the day, the stock price can touch any of these values, and if that happens, I want to execute all the orders for users who quoted that price. Technically, I am storing in a List. Whenever the price changes, I am checking against all the values in the list and executing those that satisfy the quoted price. Class Bids { string stockname; double quote; } Is there any better alternative way to callback the satisfied items in the list rather than checking all the items whenever there is a change?? If storing in a list is not right way of doing it, let me know the best way.

  • Problem with assembly loading in .NET

    Hi guys, I have got two projects in my solution: Silverlight and standard one. The standard one references System.Xml assembly (version 4.0.0.0), however the Silverlight one references System.Xml assembly (v. 2.0.5.0). I want to make an instance of XmlWriter in my Silverlight project. Here comes the problem - the exception is thrown (file not found for System.Xml assembly). I believe it is a matter of different assembly versions. Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue? Ive read something about the binding redirection - is it the key to the solution? If so, how to do this? Thank you in advance for the reply! Cheers.

    I am creating dynamic label and textbox based on the number of values from the database for the selected item of the dropdownlist. Then the dynamic labels will have the names and the text box with the values. To retain the values of these controls im using Page_init event. So im using cache to hold the selectteditem from the dropdownlist. Problem: The process is going fine. But if i try to refresh the page no items are selected in the dropdown list but the cache is not getting clear so using this cache value dynamic control are creating.

  • Would it be faster to use CMS for building the first site in ASP.NET?

    I need an opinion and advise from experienced ASP.NET people, what way to go. Assuming that a developer has some practical background with HTML/JavaScript/PHP on one side and some .NET/C#/WPF experience on the other side. No previous hands on experience with ASP.NET - only theory and some read books on the topic. The task is to build ASP.NET web site with User Managment functionality (user authentication, user account, user buying history, user points and so on) and E-commerce functionality with shopping cart, checkout and all needed for this. Is it worth, i.e. will it be faster, more reliable and secure in the result to use a ASP.NET CMS system (for example Sitefinity from Telerik as declared developer friendly) to build such first site? In what case the learning curve will be more steep and it will take more time to achieve similar results? Notes to take into consideration: 1) Price of the CMS matters not very much 2) E-commerce module should be written from scratch in any case (and integrated in case of using CMS) due to very specific requirements

When I run my app and enter the url "/Admin/Pages/List" I'm getting an The resource cannot be found error. When I enter /Pages/List, the Action method is hit but the view is not found,because the app is searching in wrong directories ~/Views/Pages/List.aspx ~/Views/Pages/List.ascx ~/Views/Shared/List.aspx ~/Views/Shared/List.ascx the view is in /Admin/Pages/List.     Hi there, I have a simple questions that puzzles me. I need a little bit of refreashment with VB as I have been away for a while. I have a form that adds new contacts. New contacts are added by pressing an appropriate button and they appear as an entry in the list on the form. I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries. User will select a given entry on the list and press edit button and will be presented with an appropriate form (AddContFrm). Right now it simply adds another entry with the same title. Logic is handled in a class called Contact.vb Here is my code. As following: I created an 'onclick' event in jQuery for the DIV as well: $('#divOne').click(function() { alert('You clicked on the DIV element'); }); My goal is to trigger this event when the DIV area is clicked (working fine), BUT- When the HyperLink is clicked, I need the page to redirect WITHOUT triggering the DIV 'onclick' event (can use JavaScript or jQuery as needed).   • Achieving AES-256 Channel Encryption with the .NET Compact Framework

    Hi There, I am working on a business application where the clients are Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional devices. The server is a Java enterprise application. The industry working group recommends AES-256 encryption for client/server communications. This is necessary to gain certification. The encryption doesn't necessarily need to be channel encryption, it could be payload encryption. Channel encryption is preferable. The client and server communicate using SOAP/HTTP, which we are yet to implement. We plan to use WCF on the compact framework. In order to alleviate some of the work required to implement manual encryption/decryption, it would be nice if we could achieve the required encryption either at the TLS level, or somehow using the WS-* standards (I'm not particularly familiar with that group of technologies but I am learning right now). The server supports https with 256-bit AES. Does anybody have an idea on the best way to implement this? Thanks in advance.

    Hi! I've been looking for quite a while already and still couldn't find a solution for this. All I need is to retrieve the memory levels and percentage of use. OpenNETCF has a MemoryManagement class, which seems to encapsulates a data structure returned through a P/Invoke or something like that, and it gives me the TotalPhysicalMemory, TotalVirtualMemory, AvailablePhisicalMemory and such, but those do not directly relate to Storage and Programs, nor could I find a way to "convert" these attributes to those I need. Has anyone there already done this? It must be easy, I just need the very same values available on Settings System Memory. Thanks in advance! edit: I'm already being able to retrieve Available and total Storage memory through the GetDiskFreeSpaceEx P/Invoke. Since Storage and Programs memory seem to rely into the same hardware, maybe it's just a case of finding out what path to pass as the method's first parameter.

    I have searched the internet thoroughly for this type of issue, there were responses but hasn't really found a concrete solution yet. I have an application which makes use of SQL Server 2008 R2 and thus it makes connections with a database file which I have set up. The application executes successfully, makes connections with the database and retrieves/inserts/updates data to and fro the database. However when I come to create a deployment project i.e. a setup project, I fail to transfer my database files to other computers and make database connections. I have checked the SQL Server 2008 prerequisite in the publish settings of the application and has also included the database files. Can anyone suggest the best way to this type of setup? Thanks

    Hi, I want to import DLL file in my web site project. I have dll file "my.dll" in folder C:\DLLDir and I'm using the code : [DllImport("C:\\DLLDir\\my.dll", EntryPoint = "Out32")] This works ok. But I want to use relative path (web site root path) . I'm trying to put "my.dll" in "bin" or root folder and I'm using the code : [DllImport("my.dll", EntryPoint = "Out32")] but I'm getting the error: Unable to load DLL 'my.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) Any ideas?

    I have a nullable date in my database. I am connecting to it with a LinqDataSource, and binding with a FormView. It allows you to place dates fine, but if you remove the date I need it to insert the null value to the db. It is instead throwing an exception. <asp:TextBox ID="TxtStartDate" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("StartDate", "{0:MM/dd/yyyy}") %>' /> Works fine if you place a date in it, but if you delete the date out of it and save, you get System.Data.SqlTypes.SqlTypeException: SqlDateTime overflow. Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM. How do I make it send null?

    I am building a C# application that is consuming a WSDL that is hosted by a server on our network. When I use the "Add Web Reference" functionality of Visual Studio, it works just fine, saving the ip address of the machine, etc. and the SOAP calls work without any issue. We are now making this entire application portable so that it can be installed in any environment. We would like to place all of our settings in one configuration file, so my question is this: Is it possible to somehow specify the IP address of the machine that is hosting the SOAP service in my configuration file and link everything dynamically at runtime?
