  • ajax error callback is called before firing the action in Symfony 2

    - by Beginner
I'm trying to write an application with Symfony and I'm new to it. I have an ajax call in this application. The problem is that it always fires error call back . I put breakpoint in netbeans IDE and can see that error callback is fired before firing the specified action in the url property of ajax. action code: public function userNameExistsAction() { return 'success'; } javascript: $('#register_submit').click(function(){ var path = '/symfony/web/app_dev.php/account/userNameExists'; //var userName = $('#register_userName').val(); $.ajax({ url: path, type: 'GET', success: function(){ alert('success');}, error: function() { console.log('error'); } }); }); Any help is appreciated in advance.

  • How to force asp.net MVC 2 to redirect to default controller/action

    - by Chris
In a brand new ASP.NET MVC2 project, I want the user to be redirected to http://<mysite>/home/index rather than http://<mysite>/ We do this with our other sites for tracking purposes, to avoid the scenario where hits to the same default page show up as http://<mysite>/ http://<mysite>/default.aspx How do I accomplish this so that http://<mysite>/ automatically redirects to whatever default controller/action I have set up in my routing? Please note that I am aware the two are functionally equivalent, as the default controller action will be executed either way. I'm just interested in forcing consistent URLs in the browser.

  • cakephp - try/catch an Action

    - by joshs
I would like to somehow apply a try catch statement to all Actions as a backstop for any uncaught exceptions. I think this would be particularly helpful for Ajax Actions, because the catch statement could send back a default 4xx status code. Prototype's onFailure() function could then do the client-side error handling. How can I do this without wrapping the Action call with a try/catch in the cake dispatcher like this: try { output = $controller->dispatchMethod($params['action'], $params['pass']); } catch {...} Does anybody have a suggestion or another workable strategy for gaining this functionality without touching the dispatcher? How do people feel about putting exception handling in the Displatcher? I imagine when cake drops php 4 support, there will be a built-in mechanism for this.

  • T4MVC adding current page controller to action link

    - by Mike Flynn
    I have the following ActionLink that sits in the home page on the register controller (Index.cshtml) @Html.ActionLink("terms of service", Url.Action(MVC.Home.Terms()), null, new { target="_blank" }) Generating the following URL. Why is "register" being added to it? It's as if the link within the Register page which has it's own controller is preappending the register controller to any link in that view? http://localhost/register/terms-of-service routes.MapRoute( "Terms", "terms-of-service", new { controller = "Home", action = "Terms" } ); public partial class HomeController : SiteController { public virtual ActionResult Terms() { return View(new SiteViewModel()); }

  • Invoke an action that is using ASP.NET MVC [Authorize] from outside the application

    - by Nate Bross
Is this possible? I'd like to expose a URL (action) such as http://mysever/myapp/UpdateHeartbeat/. In my MVC application it looks like [Authorize] [AcceptsVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult UpdateHeartbeat() { // update date in DB to DateTime. Now } Now, in my MVC application the user has logged in via FORMS authentication and they can execute that action to their hearts content. What I want to do, is hit that URL progromatically (as part of an API that I wouldl like to build) -- is there a way I can do that without removing the [Authorize] attribute and adding username/password as parameters to the POST?

  • Using an extended interceptor in struts2 does not work w/ action parameters

    - by Ricardo
I have a default package w/ an interceptor configure, and i'm extending that package into another one and calling the same interceptor <action name="availability**"> <param name="subTab">availability</param> <interceptor-ref name="tabStack"/> <result>/WEB-INF/jsp/index.jsp?include=visibilit/availability.jsp</result> </action> The problem is that the param is not being read inside my interceptor code: Map params = invocation.getInvocationContext().getParameters(); subTab = params.get("subTab").toString(); //NULL exception Any idea how i can pass parameters to extended interceptors? Thanks!

  • Swing- focus problem

    - by AlonaK
Hi, In my application I have a frame, with toolbar (the toolbar contains some actions). I want the toolbar to be visible only when the window is focused. So, I registered a windowFocusListener on the window. The problem is- when the window is not focused and I click on the place where a tool bar action should be- the action is performed. This happens because the WindowFocusGained is called before the mouse button is released and when the mouse button released it calls the actionPerformed. Does anybody has any idea for a work around for this problem? Does anybody know how to determine wether the mouse button is clicked now?

  • Aop, Unity, Interceptors and ASP.NET MVC Controller Action Methods

    - by Richard Ev
Using log4net we would like to log all calls to our ASP.NET MVC controller action methods. The logs should include information about any parameters that were passed to the controller. Rather than hand-coding this in each action method we hope to use an AoP approach with Interceptors via Unity. We already have this working with some other classes that use interfaces (using the InterfaceInterceptor). However, we're not sure how to proceed with our controllers. Should we re-work them slightly to use an interface, or is there a simpler approach? Edit The VirtualMethodInterceptor seems to be the correct approach, however using this results in the following exception: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: str at System.Reflection.Emit.DynamicILGenerator.Emit(OpCode opcode, String str) at Microsoft.Practices.ObjectBuilder2.DynamicMethodConstructorStrategy.PreBuildUp(IBuilderContext context) at Microsoft.Practices.ObjectBuilder2.StrategyChain.ExecuteBuildUp(IBuilderContext context)

  • Zend Framework Router Getting /module/VALUE/controller/action

    - by cappuccino
I've been googling around and I can't seem to find anything which explains the use of ZF router well. I've read the documentation on the site, which seems to only talk about re-routing. I am trying to make the format: /module/value/controller/action give /module/controller/action passing on value as a parameter e.g. /store/johnsmithbigsale/home/newstuff would route to /store/home/newstuff passing on johnsmithbigsale as the value to a parameter with a hidden namespace e.g. storeName. Some help would be greatful!

  • WIX: Using a temporary file during install

    - by madbadger
Hello! I am writing a WIX installer and I have a following requirement: During installation, I need to pass an absolute path to a file (lets call it A) included in my installer to a COM component, which already exists on the hard drive and is a part of another program. I have already written an appropriate Custom Action which expects a path to the file A. I don't want to include A as a file installed in the Program Files folder and removed during the uninstallation process. Instead, I would like to put A only temporary on the hard drive, call my Custom Action which will cause the COM component to use the content of A, and then remove A from disk. Is there an easy way to accomplish this goal? I have tried to utilize the Binary Table and store A there, however I don't know how to reference A using absolute path. I know I could put A outside of MSI file but I would like to keep every file installer needs in a single MSI. Any help would be appreciated.

  • T-SQL MERGE - finding out which action it took

    - by IanC
I need to know if a MERGE statement performed an INSERT. In my scenario, the insert is either 0 or 1 rows. Test code: DECLARE @t table (C1 int, C2 int) DECLARE @C1 INT, @C2 INT set @c1 = 1 set @c2 = 1 MERGE @t as tgt USING (SELECT @C1, @C2) AS src (C1, C2) ON (tgt.C1 = src.C1) WHEN MATCHED AND tgt.C2 != src.C2 THEN UPDATE SET tgt.C2 = src.C2 WHEN NOT MATCHED BY TARGET THEN INSERT VALUES (src.C1, src. C2) OUTPUT deleted.*, $action, inserted.*; SELECT inserted.* The last line doesn't compile (no scope, unlike a trigger). I can't get access to @action, or the output. Actually, I don't want any output meta data. How can I do this?

  • action method is not called in JSF

    - by gurupriyan.e
This is my Phase Listener public class AdminPhaseListener implements PhaseListener { private static final long serialVersionUID = -1161541721597667238L; public void afterPhase(PhaseEvent e) { System.out.println("after Phase " + e.getPhaseId()); } public void beforePhase(PhaseEvent e) { System.out.println("before Phase " + e.getPhaseId()); if(e.getPhaseId()== PhaseId.RESTORE_VIEW) { } } public PhaseId getPhaseId() { return PhaseId.ANY_PHASE; }} On click of a Command Button in my page, i call an action method and do some processing but the action method is not called at all, but in the server log , i could see the messages printed by my PhaseListener for all the Phases. If my view was not changed, It would have stopped after the RESTORE_VIEW Phase right? any thoughts?

    - by Sri Kumar
Hello All, I have the following HTML content. When i click the button, the page doesn't post to URL provided in action tag. The corresponding application is running, but still the page load of the CrossPage.aspx was not invoked. What could be the problem? <body> <form id="UploadForm" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="http://localhost:2518/Web/CrossPage.aspx"> <div> <input type="file" id="BtnUpload" /> <input type="button" id="BtnSubmit" value="Submit" /> </div> </form> </body>

  • Rendering another Action without changing URL?

    - by Michael Stum
I have this code in my Rails 3 controller: def index now = Time.now.utc.strftime("%m%d") redirect_to :action => "show", :id => now end def show begin @date = Time.parse("12#{params[:id]}") dbdate = params[:id] rescue ArgumentError @date = Time.now.utc dbdate = @date.strftime("%m%d") end @date = @date.strftime("%B %d") @events = Event.events_for_date(dbdate) end So basically index is just a specialized version of show, hence I want it to execute show, render the show.html.erb view - but I do not want to change the URL like redirect_to does. I have tried this approach: def index now = Time.now.utc.strftime("%m%d") params[:id] = now show render :action => "show" end Now, this works, but it just smells badly. I'm new to Ruby and Rails, so I just wonder if there is something fundamentally wrong or if there is a better way to do this?

  • Remove Action Bar icon but keep the UP button

    - by Gaurav
I am developing an application which runs on both honeycomb and ice cream sandwich. I want my action bar not to have the icon but keep the "up/home" button. I used: getActionBar().setDisplayOptions(0, ActionBar.DISPLAY_SHOW_HOME); This removes the action bar icon but keeps the "up" button on ice cream sandwich. But on honeycomb, it removes the "up" button as well. Is there a way on honeycomb that allows me to keep the "up" button but get rid of the icon?

  • How to get MVC action to return 404

    - by zaph0d
I have an action that takes in a string that is used to retrieve some data. If this string results in no data being returned (maybe because it has been deleted), I want to return a 404 and display an error page. I currently just use return a special view that display a friendly error message specific to this action saying that the item was not found. This works fine, but would ideally like to return a 404 status code so search engines know that this content no longer exists and can remove it from the search results. What is the best way to go about this? Is it as simple as setting Response.StatusCode = 404?

  • Change column names of a cube action as they appear in Visual Studio

    - by hermann
the title pretty much says it all. I have a cube with data in it and I have yet to find a way to change the column names. They appear in a very ugly manner like [cubeName].[$dimension.columnName]. I have tried everything I know and anything I found on the web but nothing seems to be working. What I tried to do in most cases is create an Action in the Actions tab and write some MDX query language in there. No results whatsoever. As if the action is never run. Does anyone know how to do this? I've spent about 3 days trying to figure this out. Thank you.
