  • Entity update from ASP.NET MVC page with post to Edit action

    - by mare
    I have a form that posts back to /Edit/ and my action in controller looks like this: // // POST: /Client/Edit [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Edit(Client client) My form includes a subset of Client entity properties and I also include a hidden field that holds an ID of the client. The client entity itself is provided via the GET Edit action. Now I want to do entity update but so far I've only been trying without first loading the entity from the DB. Because the client object that comes in POST Edit has everything it needs. I want to update just those properties on the entity in datastore. So far I've tried with Context.Refresh() and AttachTo() but with no success - I'm getting all sorts of exceptions. I inspected the entity object as it comes from the web form and it looks fine (it does have an ID and entered data) mapped just fine. If I do it with Context.SaveChanges() then it just inserts new row..

  • No method error in controller create action

    - by user2799827
    I have read a number of Q&As on SO in search of some help on this but have so far not solved my issue. I am trying to teach myself ruby/rails, and as a test project, I want to create a list of tvshows and a list of characters where each tvshow has_many characters and each character belongs_to a specific show. I am sure I am doing something basic incorrectly. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. here is the characters controller: class CharactersController < ApplicationController before_action :set_character, only: [:show, :edit, :update, :destroy] # GET /characters # GET /characters.json def index @characters = Character.all end # GET /characters/1 # GET /characters/1.json def show end # GET /characters/new def new @character = Character.new end # GET /characters/1/edit def edit end # POST /characters # POST /characters.json def create @character = @tvshow.characters.create(params[:character]) respond_to do |format| if @character.save format.html { redirect_to @character, notice: 'Character was successfully created.' } format.json { render action: 'show', status: :created, location: @character } else format.html { render action: 'new' } format.json { render json: @character.errors, status: :unprocessable_entity } end end end # PATCH/PUT /characters/1 # PATCH/PUT /characters/1.json def update respond_to do |format| if @character.update(character_params) format.html { redirect_to @character, notice: 'Character was successfully updated.' } format.json { head :no_content } else format.html { render action: 'edit' } format.json { render json: @character.errors, status: :unprocessable_entity } end end end # DELETE /characters/1 # DELETE /characters/1.json def destroy @character.destroy respond_to do |format| format.html { redirect_to characters_url } format.json { head :no_content } end end private # Use callbacks to share common setup or constraints between actions. def set_character @character = Character.find(params[:id]) end # Never trust parameters from the scary internet, only allow the white list through. def character_params params.require(:character).permit(:first_name, :last_name, :bio) end end character model: class Character < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :tvshow default_scope -> { order('created_at DESC') } validates :tvshow_id, presence: true end tvshow model: class Tvshow < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :characters, dependent: :destroy end error gets returned when I attempt to create a character. here is the full trace: app/controllers/characters_controller.rb:27:in • Namespace with index action in Rails

    - by yuval
    I have an admin controller located inside /controllers/admin/admin_controller.rb I also have a pages controller located inside /controllers/admin/pages_controller.rb In my routes.rb file, I have the following: map.namespace :admin do |admin| admin.resources :pages end When the user goes to localhost:3000/admin, I'd like the user to see a page with a link to /admin/pages (Pages CRUD) and to / (To go back home). Since I am using a namespace, I cannot have an index action for /admin. How would I get this done and still have my controllers located inside my /controllers/admin folder (rather than using admin as a map.resources component and a has_many association to pages). Please note I am only interested in the show action of admin. Thank you!

  • ImageView place at center on click in gallery view

    - by TGMCians
    i used gallery view in which i place multiple imageview dynamically but on click imageview place at center and second question how to start first imageview from left of screen. I do not want to change the place until user scroll horizontally by finger . Is there any way to achieve this. Please help for this.. private class ImageAdapter extends BaseAdapter{ public ImageAdapter() { //To set blank at bottom and make visible TextView textView = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.textView2); textView.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE); //To set the visibility visible of gallery myGallery.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE); } public int getCount() { return ProductItemArray.Image_URL.length; } public Object getItem(int position) { return null; } public long getItemId(int position) { return 0; } public View getView(int position, View arg1, ViewGroup arg2) { ImageView bottomImageView = new ImageView(context); if(Helper.isTablet(context)) bottomImageView.setLayoutParams(new Gallery.LayoutParams(VirtualMirrorActivity.convertDpToPixel(100, context), VirtualMirrorActivity.convertDpToPixel(100, context))); else bottomImageView.setLayoutParams(new Gallery.LayoutParams(VirtualMirrorActivity.convertDpToPixel(80, context), VirtualMirrorActivity.convertDpToPixel(80, context))); UrlImageViewHelper.setUrlDrawable(bottomImageView, ProductItemArray.Image_URL[position]); bottomImageView.setBackgroundResource(R.layout.border); return bottomImageView; } } myGallery.setAdapter(new ImageAdapter()); myGallery.setSelection(1); myGallery.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { @Override public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, final int position, long arg3) { linearLayout.removeView(frameImageView); Thread newThread = new Thread(new Runnable() { public void run() { URL url_1 = null; try { isAlreadyExistInWishlist = false; VMProductListPaging.productUrl = ProductItemArray.Image_small_URL[position]; VMProductListPaging.productId = ProductItemArray.productId[position]; VMProductListPaging.productName = ProductItemArray.product_Name[position]; url_1 = new URL(ProductItemArray.Image_small_URL[position]); bmp = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(url_1.openConnection().getInputStream()); isExecuted = true; bitmapHandler.sendMessage(bitmapHandler.obtainMessage()); } catch (Exception e) { //Toast.makeText(context,"Sorry!! • How to test that action uses argument?

    - by Caster Troy
    I am supposed to be using test-driven development but in this particular case, as I am having trouble, I implemented the action method first. It looks like this: public ViewResult Index(int pageNumber = 1) { var posts = repository.All(); var model = new PagedList<Post>(posts, pageNumber, PageSize); return View(model); } Both the repository and the PagedList<> have been tested already. Now I want to verify that when the action is given a page number that the page number is actually considered. private Mock<IPostsRepository> repository; private HomeController controller; [Test] public void Index_Doohickey() { var actual = controller.Index(2); // .. How do I test that the controller actually uses the page number here? }

  • How do I pass object values with render :action => 'new'

    - by PlanetMaster
    Hi, In an app I have the following: def new @property = Property.new(:country_id => 1, :user_id => current_user.id, :status_id => 'draft') end def create @property = Property.new(params[:property]) if @property.save flash[:success] = t('The_property_is_successfully_created') redirect_to myimmonatie_url else flash.now[:error]=t("The_property_could_not_be_created") render :action => 'new' end end When an error accors, the line render :action = 'new' gets executed, but the my form gives an error: user blank country blank These cannot be blank (defined in model), meaning this code: @property = Property.new(:country_id => 1, :user_id => current_user.id, :status_id => 'draft') is not executed anymore. What is the reason and solution? Thanks!

  • jQuery center multiple dynamic images in different sized containers

    - by JVK Design
    So I've found similar questions but none that answer all the questions I have and I know there must be a simple jQuery answer to this. I've got multiple images that are being dynamically placed in their own containing div that have overflow:hidden, they need to fill their containing divs and be centered(horizontally and vertically) also. The containing divs will be different sizes as well. So in short: multiple different sized images fill and center in containing div. containing divs will be different sizes. will be used multiple times on a page. Hopefully this image helps explain what I'm after. Click here to view the image. HTML I'm using but can be changed <div class="imageHolder"> <div class="first SlideImage"> <img src="..." alt="..."/> </div> <div class="second SlideImage"> <img src="..." alt="..."/> </div> <div class="third SlideImage"> <img src="..." alt="..."/> </div> </div> And the CSS .imageHandler{ float:left; width:764px; height:70px; margin:1px 0px 0px; } .imageHolder .SlideImage{ float:left; position:relative; overflow:hidden; } .imageHolder .SlideImage img{ position:absolute; } .imageHolder .first.SlideImage{ width:381px; height:339px; margin-right:1px; } .imageHolder .second.SlideImage{margin-bottom:1px;} .imageHolder .second.SlideImage, .imageHolder .third.SlideImage { width: 382px; height: 169px; } Ask me anything if this doesn't make sense, thanks in advance

  • Text not Being Placed Correctly In the Center

    - by ThatMacLad
    This is another noobish mistake from me but I've placed some text in my page but after adding some padding to my div tag it's impossible for me to place my Text in the vertical center. Here is a preview of my problem: The CSS: body { background-image: url(../images/body-bg.jpg); font-family: arial; } .cms-head { background-image: url(../images/cms-head.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; width: 850px; height: 50px; padding: 5px; margin-bottom: -10px; } .posts-list { background-image: url(../images/new-post-b.png);; width: 840px; height: 500px; padding: 5px; border-bottom: 1px solid #000000; } .content { width: 850px; height: 500px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } .edit-post-but { background-image: url(../images/new-button.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; width: 60px; height: 40px; } .post-title { width: 834px; height: 40px; background-image: url(../images/post-head.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; -moz-border-radius: 5px; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding: 5px; font-size: 20px; color: #ffffff; } .bottom { width: 850px; height: 50px; background-image: url(../images/cms-bot.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; } a:active, a:link, a:visited{ color: #ffffff; } a:hover{ text-decoration:none; } The HTML/PHP: <html> <head> <title>Blog Name | Edit Post</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/cms.css" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div class="content"> <div class="cms-head"> <a href="newpost.php"><img src="images/new-button.png" /></a> <a href="#"><img src="images/rss-button.png" /></a> </div> <div class="posts-list"> <?php mysql_connect ('localhost', 'root', 'root') ; mysql_select_db ('tmlblog'); $result = mysql_query("SELECT timestamp, id, title FROM php_blog ORDER BY id DESC"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $date = date("l F d Y",$row['timestamp']); $id = $row['id']; $title = strip_tags(stripslashes($row['title'])); if (mb_strlen($title) >= 50) { $title = substr($title, 0, 50); $title = $title .   • Rotate rectangle around center

    - by ESoft
    I am playing with Brad Larsen's adaption of the trackball app. I have two views at a 60 degree angle to each other and was wondering how I get the rotation to be in the center of this (non-closed) rectangle? In the images below I would have liked the rotation to take place all within the blue lines. Code (modified to only rotate around x axis): #import "MyView.h" //===================================================== // Defines //===================================================== #define DEGREES_TO_RADIANS(degrees) \ (degrees * (M_PI / 180.0f)) //===================================================== // Public Interface //===================================================== @implementation MyView - (void)awakeFromNib { transformed = [CALayer layer]; transformed.anchorPoint = CGPointMake(0.5f, 0.5f); transformed.frame = self.bounds; [self.layer addSublayer:transformed]; CALayer *imageLayer = [CALayer layer]; imageLayer.frame = CGRectMake(10.0f, 4.0f, self.bounds.size.width / 2.0f, self.bounds.size.height / 2.0f); imageLayer.transform = CATransform3DMakeRotation(DEGREES_TO_RADIANS(60.0f), 1.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); imageLayer.contents = (id)[[UIImage imageNamed:@"IMG_0051.png"] CGImage]; imageLayer.borderColor = [UIColor yellowColor].CGColor; imageLayer.borderWidth = 2.0f; [transformed addSublayer:imageLayer]; imageLayer = [CALayer layer]; imageLayer.frame = CGRectMake(10.0f, 120.0f, self.bounds.size.width / 2.0f, self.bounds.size.height / 2.0f); imageLayer.transform = CATransform3DMakeRotation(DEGREES_TO_RADIANS(-60.0f), 1.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); imageLayer.contents = (id)[[UIImage imageNamed:@"IMG_0089.png"] CGImage]; imageLayer.borderColor = [UIColor greenColor].CGColor; imageLayer.borderWidth = 2.0f; transformed.borderColor = [UIColor whiteColor].CGColor; transformed.borderWidth = 2.0f; [transformed addSublayer:imageLayer]; UIView *line = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, self.bounds.size.height / 2.0f, self.bounds.size.width, 2)]; [line setBackgroundColor:[UIColor redColor]]; [self addSubview:line]; line = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, self.bounds.size.height * (1.0f / 4.0f), self.bounds.size.width, 2)]; [line setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blueColor]]; [self addSubview:line]; line = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, self.bounds.size.height * (3.0f / 4.0f), self.bounds.size.width, 2)]; [line setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blueColor]]; [self addSubview:line]; } - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { previousLocation = [[touches anyObject] locationInView:self]; } - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { CGPoint location = [[touches anyObject] locationInView:self]; //location = CGPointMake(previousLocation.x, location.y); CATransform3D currentTransform = transformed.sublayerTransform; //CGFloat displacementInX = location.x - previousLocation.x; CGFloat displacementInX = previousLocation.x - location.x; CGFloat displacementInY = previousLocation.y - location.y; CGFloat totalRotation = sqrt((displacementInX * displacementInX) + (displacementInY * displacementInY)); CGFloat angle = DEGREES_TO_RADIANS(totalRotation); CGFloat x = ((displacementInX / totalRotation) * currentTransform.m12 + (displacementInY/totalRotation) * currentTransform.m11); CATransform3D rotationalTransform = CATransform3DRotate(currentTransform, angle, x, 0, 0); previousLocation = location; transformed.sublayerTransform = rotationalTransform; } - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end

  • Dropbox 99% instalation crash. Strange "Searching" Ubuntu Software Center bug [closed]

    - by kocios
    Possible Duplicate: Dropbox fails to install, stuck at 99% I just installed Dropbox via Ubuntu Software Center, and the known crash of 99%, which was in Ubuntu Software center, happened. I want to remove Dropbox completely since something went wrong, but I can't. When I start my Ubuntu, it starts a process which eats up all of the CPU. In Ubuntu Software Center, there is a process "Searching Applying Changes", but nothing really happens. When I'm trying to uninstall Dropbox, nothing happens, since the seaching thing is "first". Please, I'm asking for a option which doesn't include proper reinstallation of Dropbox, only of getting rid of it, and without reinstalling the whole Ubuntu system (format, chaos etc).

  • Wired component null in seam EntityHome action

    - by rangalo
    I have a custom EntityHome class. I wire the dependent entity in the wire method, but when I call the action (persist) the wired component is always null. • "Stream" tar action from remote server through Putty?

    - by Pekka
    I am accessing a shared hosting account through Putty / SSH. The account is pretty full, 300 MB below its quota. I need to make a full backup of all data present on the account. Creating a bzip2 file using tar cjf archive.tar.bz2 directory/* fails because there is not enough space for the tar. Does anybody know a way to create a tar file and "stream" it to a local file on my PC? Through putty or any other SSH tool?

  • How to assign more then one open action to one file system

    - by Martin
    All operating system I use apart form Windows have a “Open with…” options for there Explorer, Finder, whatever. This is very useful as often more then one program can handle a given file extension. With the exception on zip file I generally have not seen such a function on Window. However since there is an exceptions it is possible. The questions I have is: How can a “Open with…” can be archived with windows? Is there perhaps a tool which can do it?

  • Speaker static event fires with every action

    - by P.Brian.Mackey
    When I... click my mouse (everytime) stroke a key on keyboard (sometimes) Watch a video (horrible) Take the hard drive out for a walk (bad) The Cyber Acoustics CA-2014rb speakers chime in with an onomatopoeia. Sounds like radio interference. A click for every platter revolution. A chime for every 80Kb of data. This is a virus type Pokémon immune to formats, OS upgrades and everything but volume control, power outages and deep submersions. How can I defeat the monster rattling in my PC?

  • Photoshop - Save batch process

    - by edit_insanely
    In photoshop, I recently learned how to create actions, and how to do them in batches (for example, execute them on a folder of 1000 files). What I need to know is this: How can I SAVE THE BATCH PROCESS? I need to save all the settings with which I perform the batch process, so I can easily perform the exact same batch process, again. Any help would really be appreciated!

  • Windows will not go into standby

    - by Robert
    When I select Start-Turn off computer-Standby the 'turn off computer' option window closes, and then nothing else happens. I can start new applications, and Windows acts like I never selected standby. If I have a TV program scheduled to record I get a window asking if I'm sure, there are programs scheduled to record - and the computer just keeps running after I select yes. (If a program is not scheduled then that task in not running/in memory - this problem happens even if I'm not watching TV and no TV scheduling task is running.) This problem happens regardless of whether Media Center is running. Windows XP SP3 Media Center Edition, all current updates installed.

  • fail2ban custom action to permanent ban IPs from China

    - by John Magnolia
    When a IP address gets banned how can I check if the banned IP address is from China. If yes, then add it to the permanent ban list. I have found this nice guide which write the banned IP to file. Reason: I am getting a lot of brute force attacks from China daily, thankfully fail2ban is helping restrict this although they appear to be getting worse and they are just changing their IP Address. Or even better would be if there was a maintained database of known hacker IP addresses. Example 1 Hi, The IP 60.169.78.77 has just been banned by Fail2Ban after 4 attempts against vsftpd. • datacenter network change control best practices

    - by jpolache
    I have been tasked with compiling a list of possible network equipment changes at a data center. The task includes tagging which changes need change control and which don't. Does anyone know of a "best practices" list that I can start from? The methods for doing change control at this data center are well established. The list would be of specific configuration items that should or should not be included in the change control process, of example; static route entries switch port assignments firewall rule additions/changes etc.

  • Perform action based on load avg

    - by sfx
    I'm running some web applications on an debian server and have to struggle with ddos attacks sometimes. It's eating up all my resources and I can't ssh anymore into the server. An idea was to drop all connections if the load avg is too high, so there are still resources for me and accept new connections if the load avg is low enough. Since this has to work under heavy load I'm afraid a cronjob wouldn't be fast enough or take too much resources. tl;dr: Is there a way to configure the behavior if the load avg is above a specific threshold?

  • Powershell - how to set multiple action on get-aduser "dataset"

    - by Patrick Pellegrino
    I'm trying to run a script that modify password for multiple AD user accounts, enable the accounts and force a password change at next logon. I use this code but that's not work : Get-ADUSER -Filter * -SearchScope Subtree -SearchBase "OU=myou,OU=otherou,DC=mydc,DC=local" | Set-ADAccountPassword -Reset -NewPassword (ConvertTo-SecureString -AsPlainText "NewPassord" -Force) | Enable-ADAccount | Set-ADUSER -ChangePasswordAtLogon $true If I run the Get-ADuser line with ONLY one of the other line that's run fine ex : Get-ADUSER -Filter * -SearchScope Subtree -SearchBase "OU=myou,OU=otherou,DC=mydc,DC=local" | Enable-ADAccount Where I'm wrong ? I'm new to PowerShell probably I'm misunderstanding something.
