    I'm looking around for an open source form building package for PHP, and figured the hive-mob-mind of StackOverflow might be able to tilt me in the right direction. Specifically, I'm looking for a form/survey builder application. I want something that lets an end user use a web based GUI to create and configure/surveys and web-based forms. What are the de-facto standard tools/packages that people use for this kind of thing these days. I'm interested in software packages, not in hosted services.

    Why do people say that business logics should be implemented on the server side code (e.g. EJB) and not on the client application code? The example that I have in mind is a business object validation on a EJB based architecture. Does it really have to be delegated to the EJB or is it ok to run it on the client before the object is sent to be server to be saved?

    Hi, What is the best way to reference an existing .NET dll (Class library)? Is there any benefit to expose web services from the class library and reference these as opposed to referencing the actual .dll (Although one benefit of the web service approach is the granularity and thus surface area exposed is up to you at coding time)? I am thinking with loose coupling in mind, as a criteria. Thanks

    I know the answer depends on the particular JVM, but I would like to understand how it is usually implemented? Is it in terms of popen (posix)? In terms of efficiency do I need to keep something in mind (other than using a Buffered stream as suggested by the javadoc). As the project I'm in has budget and time-constraints I don't mind buying a commercial lib :) I know they are XML files in a somewhat open format but I really don't want to waste time understanding the XML specification.     I can use JavaScript's split to put a comma-separated list of items in an array: var mystring = "a,b,c,d,e"; var myarray = mystring.split(","); What I have in mind is a little more complicated. I have this dictionary-esque string: myvalue=0;othervalue=1;anothervalue=0; How do I split this so that the keys end up in one array and the values end up in another array?

  • Jquery ui slide content along with scroll bar

    Well i'm totaly lost here, i am using jquery ui sliderwidget to make this quite simple menu but i just can't figure out a basic formula to make menu items slide along with with scroll bar.     Can anyone please tell me why this result is generation only one results? taking in mind that everything is set right and the three tables are populated correctly, i took out the group_concat and it worked but of course with a php undefined index error! SELECT `songs`.`song_name`, `songs`.`add_date`, `songs`.`song_id`, `songs`.`song_picture`, group_concat(DISTINCT artists.artist_name) as artist_name FROM (`songs`) JOIN `mtm_songs_artists` ON `songs`.`song_id` = `mtm_songs_artists`.`song_id` JOIN `artists` ON `artists`.`artist_id` = `mtm_songs_artists`.`artist_id` ORDER BY `songs`.`song_id` DESC LIMIT 10 so i'm guessing it's something related to group_concat. best regards, Rami

  • Simple 2 column CSS layout with nested divs

    Hello, I have good familiarity with CSS but for some reason I am unable to achieve the result I want in this case. Instead the body background color image is being put in place of where the wrapper background should be. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for simplest way for authentification of users who use API, OAuth is first thing coming in mind, but the problem is I don't need this 3 iteration calls with request token query, than access token query with callback url passing. I just need to give user ability to invoke api with no additional security calls to my server.

    For a back office application which is going to be used in house and users trained to use it, does it make sense to have browser side validation. After training users will seldom make mistakes. These mistakes would get caught at the server side. Also bearing in mind that the bandwidth availability is a lesser concern I feel we should avoid browser side validations. This will save the effort of maintaining the same functionality at two places.
