    How can I get a specific value from an object? I'm trying to get a value of an instance for eg. ListOfPpl newListOfPpl = new ListOfPpl(id, name, age); Object item = newListOfPpl; How can I get a value of name from an Object item?? Even if it is easy or does not interest you can anyone help me??     Hi, I've been studying SQL for 2 weeks now and I'm preparing for an SQL test. Anyway I'm trying to do this question: For the table: 1 create table data { 2 id int, 3 n1 int not null, 4 n2 int not null, 5 n3 int not null, 6 n4 int not null, 7 primary key (id) 8 } I need to return the relation with tuples (n1, n2, n3) where all the corresponding values for n4 are 0. The problem asks me to solve it WITHOUT using subqueries(nested selects/views) It also gives me an example table and the expected output from my query: 01 insert into data (id, n1, n2, n3, n4) 02 values (1, 2,4,7,0), 03 (2, 2,4,7,0), 04 (3, 3,6,9,8), 05 (4, 1,1,2,1), 06 (5, 1,1,2,0), 07 (6, 1,1,2,0), 08 (7, 5,3,8,0), 09 (8, 5,3,8,0), 10 (9, 5,3,8,0); expects (2,4,7) (5,3,8) and not (1,1,2) since that has a 1 in n4 in one of the cases. The best I could come up with was: 1 SELECT DISTINCT n1, n2, n3 2 FROM data a, data b 3 WHERE a.ID <> b.ID 4 AND a.n1 = b.n1 5 AND a.n2 = b.n2 6 AND a.n3 = b.n3 7 AND a.n4 = b.n4 8 AND a.n4 = 0 but I found out that also prints (1,1,2) since in the example (1,1,2,0) happens twice from IDs 5 and 6. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

    I've been assigned the project of creating a simple console app. that models brownian motion in a 2D plane. I wasn't given much information on how to do so (and I'm hoping that it's a pretty popular assignment so that I could get some insight) just that it relies on random number generation. I researched brownian motion for a little bit and saw some formulas that looked complicated, but by the description is just seems to have to move randomly within a certain number interval. Can anyone clarify? Am I to create a program that continually creates a random number in an interval and then modify the particles "x" and "y" coordinate or is there more to it? Thanks for any help.

  • Promoting letters in a string to the next letter in java

    I'm having issues figuring out how to get my code to increment the string that is given by user input so that when a user chooses to replace a letter like z it would go to a, b to c ect. The catch is I have to do this without using boolean. I am supposed to get this by using arithmetics to get the promotion from z to a from the users input. Plus must be only lower case letters from a-z. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

The problem is I can't find a work around - how to unpin in from node and change it's pointing address without changing it's.

Is there a way to open the ORDER file I made in the first sub without having to make $name not local? Or just a way to write in this file? I really don't know how to start here. I can't really find much info on writing a file that has been closed before, and in a different sub. Any help is appreciated, Harm

    Ohh! this regular expression thing is eating my brain up. I have been reading it from Introduction to Automata Theory, Languages and Computer by Hopcroft, Motwani and Ullman. I have solved a few exercises too but could not solve the following even after trying for almost one hr. The problem is to write a regular expression that defines a language consisting of all strings of 0s and 1s except the substring 011. Is the answer (0+1)* - 011 correct ?
