    Hi, I'm writing a custom UITabBar replacement, and I would like to know how to recreate the filter that the built-in implementation does with the UITabBarItem image - that blue shining on selected tabs and gray gradient on unselected ones. I guess it's a matter of using the source image alpha value as a mask and overlay it with a pre-made blue (or whatever color) shining image and another one grayed out, but I would like to know what is the best approach from a code point of view.     In asp classic, the cint() function or procedure or whatever it is won't allow me to cast arbitrary strings, like "bob" or "null" or anything like that. Is there anything that will allow me to simply cast integers, numeric strings, and arbitrary strings to actual integers, with some sane default like 0 for strings?

    Hi, I am trying to read the boost headers to figure out how they managed to implement the or_<...> and and_<...> metafunctions so that: 1) They can have an arbitrary number of arguments (ok, say up to 5 arguments) 2) They have short circuit behavior, for example: or_<false_,true_,...> does not instantiate whatever is after true_ (so it can also be declared but not defined) Unfortunately the pre-processor metaprogramming is making my task impossible for me :P Thank you in advance for any help/suggestion.

  • Getting a borderless window to receive mouseMoved events (Cocoa OSX)

    I have a little popup window used for selecting images sorted by groups, and I would like to add a selection box around whatever image is being hovered over. I am trying to this by overriding the mouseMoved event for the window but it seems that a window that has a border-less style mask receives no mouseMoved events even if you have set setAcceptsMouseMoved events to YES. Is there anyway to make a borderless window receive this events?

    just wondering if anyone knows anything of using javascript to set html to new content instead of linking to new pages, if this is generally a bad idea or if it kind of hurts SEO(which im kind of new to) Basically the home page displays given content, and the links to like contact pages and stuff, just change the body content to what would normally be a separate html page. my OCD kinda bugs me when pages reload and either flash the background or its offset somehow, so i wanted to know if making sites like this was a bad idea or whatever- i suppose at the least, i could create duplicates/hidden pages for SEO purposes
