  • Use gnome custom themes appearance in KDE?

    Is there a way to get the colors of a gnome custom theme to KDE without matching every single setting manually? (Theres tons of different color settings in the KDE color schemes, most of which I even don't know where they are applied ... I use KDE with compiz to run emerald as windows decorator. Because I really like the "Elementary"-theme. Because my eyes aren't that great I had to tweak the gtk-elementary theme for some additional contrast. I saved it as "elementary-piedro". Now I want to choose this theme in KDE-Systemsettings/appearance/gtk-applications but it doesnt't show the tweaked version? Where is it saved by the normal "gnome appearance preferences"-utility? Is there a way to use the tweaked settings for KDE-applications?

  • Updated Blue and Dark Visual Studio 2010 Themes

    I updated my previous dark theme for Visual Studio 2010 and added a new one with a blue background, similar to the background (but a bit lighter) to that of Visual Studio 2010s blue. I updated a few fonts to fit in with it and for the past week I have been using this and found that its even easier on my eyes than the dark theme. I made some changes to the dark theme, too, and include both of them in the download file here.     I am looking for a dark, contrast theme. Most dark, high-contrast themes I have tried do not give sufficient contrast to many edges, such as the edges of buttons, tabs, windows and other borders. Could you recommend themes that would provide such features? Alternatively, could you recommend a guide to changing a fairly dark theme, such as Numix-Cyanogen, such that it would feature light button, tab, window and other borders?     I try to install Wordpress in a Windows Client with WebPI which provided by Microsoft. I had tostop installation process 3 time and installing PHP and mysql Extention manually. but everytime I continue setup by WebPi andfinally it show me a success message. But when I try to see installed wordpress in my client I see this Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress. I asked it in StackOverFlow here but I couln't get the right answer. I install everything in **C:\Program files\** so these are the location C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1 C:\Program Files\Php C:\Program Files\ext mysql root password: admin wordpress database : wordpress wordpress database password : 123 here is my php.ini

  • Ubuntu 12.04 menu bar, nautilus, terminal, and gtk themes not working after installation of Gimp 2.8

    I installed gimp2.8 from this ppa: ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp after that, my system began having problems. This is my thought process in trying to fix what's happened and the order in which it happened: I noticed the menu bar at the top changed from an opaque black to perfectly clear and the titles of applications and the hidden buttons reacted slowly. No big deal, restarted to see if it fixed it. It didn't, in fact, when the logon screen came up, the password field was grey and boxy like a default windows 98 theme (that's the best I can describe it) as were all the option buttons for gtk programs. I open terminal to try and reinstall gtk, but the terminal is just a black screen with no ability to input commands. I go to a tty and I reinstalled gtk3 and gtk2 (I have both on my system. I don't think they're in conflict, they hadn't been before hand). I restarted. Nothing doing. Log in, nautilus isn't placing icons on my desktop. I click the launcher. It flashes, but no window opens. Try to open by Alt+f2, nothing. I purge ubuntu-desktop, restart, reinstall ubuntu-desktop. Nothing. I have no clue what to do at this point so I'm asking for any help diagnosing the problem and fixing it.

    I'm interested in setting up a professional WordPress site but I'd like to explore the pssibilities to leave the management of the webserver and even WordPress' management to a company that guarantees great availability, performance of the site (load times, security) and even SEO. My site is currently running on other platform but I plan on a migration on the next 4 weeks. I've done this usually, but I'd like to focus on the content, so I don't have to mess with webserver/mysql/php configs in order to get nice performance. Is there some (maybe hosting) company that is dedicated to this? Would it be better to hire a sysadmin with experience in those matters?

  • Bold font shortcut in WordPress editor in Mac OS X? (The equivalent to Ctrl+b in Windows)

    I've recently acquired a MacBook Air and I'm getting used to Mac OS X shortcuts. One that I can't find, though, is the change to bold a piece of text previously selected in the WordPress editor. I do this with a simple Ctrl+b after selecting the text in Windows, but the expected Command+b in Mac OS X does not work (in WordPress at least. It seems it works in other editors online and offline). Is there a shortcut for it... and for italics?

  • How can I let my users set PHP.ini settings for wordpress?

    I set up a wordpress server from a fairly standard Ubuntu 9.10 for a class and they're constantly running into problems with the default PHP.ini settings. First memory settings were too low, then the file upload limits were too small, etc. And more concerning was a wordpress wide blank page that I suspect was killed for ram consumption but turning on php errors in php.ini didn't reveal anything! I'm not familiar with shared hosting, but I feel there's a way such places allow users to edit such things without needing me to intervene and restart Apache.

    I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to a VPS. I successfully installed a WordPress NGINX setup but I am lost when it comes to downloading plugins from the WordPress dashboard. What credentials do I use? I am still using root on the VPS, although I have disabled root login and am using value key pairs to login. do I have to change to another user from root or can I use root as the ftp credentials from the dashboard to download plugins?     Hello - Does anyone know how to modify the Wordpress canonical links to add a custom URL parameter? I have a Wordpress site with a page that queries a separate (non-Wordpress) database. I passed the URL parameter "pubID" to display individual books and it is working OK. Example: http://www.uglyducklingpresse.org/catalog/browse/item/?pubID=63 But the individual book pages are not showing up properly in Google - the ?pubID parameter is stripped out. I think maybe this is because all the item pages have the same auto-generated "canonical" URL link tag in the source - one with the "pubID" parameter stripped out. Example: link rel='canonical' href='http://www.uglyducklingpresse.org/catalog/browse/item/' Is there a way to perhaps edit .htaccess to add a custom URL parameter to Wordpress, so that the parameter is not stripped out by permalinks and the "canonical" links? Or maybe there's another solution ... Thank you for any ideas!

  • How can I attach a file using Wordpress custom fields / meta boxes?

    I am using Wordpress's add_meta_box() function to add customized meta fields to the Add New Post page, like this. I want one of these fields to allow the user to upload a file, so that a single image, pdf, audio file, or video can be associated with the post. The closest example I've seen is this one. Unfortunately it does not suit my needs, as I want my file to be processed by Wordpress's Media Uploader - so it should appear in the Media Library afterwards, and thumbnails should be generated according to the Media settings. I think ideally there would be a way to tap into Wordpress's existing Add Media dialog, and simply output the URL of the uploaded file into a text box, but I don't see how to do that. This question is similar, but the answers are a little clunky - I would like to keep this super simple for my end users. How can I accomplish this? Please do not recommend plugins such as Flutter or Magic Fields - I have tried these and they do not suit my purposes (I want the images to be processed by Wordpress's Media Uploader). I am using Wordpress 3.0-alpha. Thanks!
