  • Drag Rotate UIImageView by touch

    - by rockstardev
    I have an UIImageView that is a subview of an UIView. I'm trying to create a drag rotate effect with the UIImageView similar to spinning a bottle but I'm having trouble calculating the radians to rotate the image by. My code below seems like it should work because I've seen a similar calculation in Flash examples. Can anyone shed some light on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks. This is the code contained in my image view subclass: - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; lastLocation = [touch locationInView:[self superview]]; } - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:[self superview]]; CGFloat xDisplacement = location.x - lastLocation.x; CGFloat yDisplacement = location.y - lastLocation.y; CGFloat rad = atan2f(yDisplacement,xDisplacement); self.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(rad); }

  • Anyone knows of a good addressbook implementation?

    - by Tsahi Levent-Levi
I am looking to add an address book to one of my programs. For that purpose, I want to have something that is flexible and customizable to the point of allowing me to hook up additional metadata to contacts in it from third parties. I don't mind paying for a solution as long as I get something that is usable for me. My requirements: Optimized to run on embedded devices Preferably in source code form Ability to add my own fields to contacts over those the address book provides out of the box Ability to plugin "stuff" to it to enhance it without changing its base code too much Has a C or C++ interface

  • Dismissing pickers and keyboards invoked by a UIWebView

    - by Dev Kanchen
I am implementing an in-app browser using UIWebView, that shows an 'action' button up-top that - when tapped - scales the UIWebView and allows the user to perform some other actions. If, however, at the point of tapping this 'action' button, the user were entering some text on the webview, or using a picker to select an option from a drop-down list, then the webview gets scaled without dismissing the keyboard/picker. Apart from being ugly, this also obscures my main view and controls. So is there a way to make a UIWebView dismiss all associated input controls, such as keyboards/pickers, when asked to? I tried using [myWebView resignFirstResponder] but that didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Embedding Youtube Videos on user's wall with the Javascript API

    - by dragonmantank
I'm attempting to embed a Youtube video on a user's wall using the Javascript API. I've poured over a bunch of different tutorials and came up with this: var data = { method: 'feed', link: current_video_url, // Link to the vide on our site source: current_video_src, // Link to the Youtube video, http://youtube.com/v/[hash] picture: current_picture_url, // Thumbnail from youtube title: current_video_title, // Title from our page caption: current_video_description // Text from our page } FB.ui(data); Running the Facebook Debugger shows that the current_video_url link is being properly parsed for OG tags and is available as an embedded video. I ran a debugger and all the variables are being properly set in the data variable. This worked fine for about 2 days, and then we pushed the site live. We set up a new AppID in Facebook but now all the videos are just thumbnails instead of being embedded in the user's wall. I thought maybe this is a problem with the live site but now the dev site is broken too. What's the best way to get this to work consistently?

  • Using an IBAction method when it is not called from an action?

    - by cannyboy
Are there any issues when using IBAction when it is not actually called from a user's action? If you have an action like -(IBAction)sayHello:(id)sender; You can call it from within your class like: [self sayHello:@"x"] The @"x" doesn't do anything, it just fills in for the sender. You can actually create an IBAction method without (id)sender -(IBAction)sayHello; and call it from both user's actions and from within the code, but then you won't get any useful sender info from the interface. What's the 'correct' way of filling in for the sender, when calling from the code? And can you create sender info to send when it's called from within the code? Just trying to figure it out.

  • How to store UISegmentedControle state in NSUserdefaults

    - by Chrizzz
The problem is when de selectedSegmentIndex is unselected: "UISegmentedControlNoSegment" alias "-1". The other states (0, 1, 2 , etc.), I can store as Integers and retrieve with carTypeSegmentedControl.selectedSegmentIndex = [defaults integerForKey:@"typeOfCar"]; But -1 is no NSInteger. I also tried to remove the Integer out of the NSUserdefaults but a request would return an "0", which is not acceptable. So, is there another easy way? tnx for reading

  • Problem with TTWebController… alternative view controller template for UIWebView?

    - by prendio2
I have a UIWebView with content populated from a Last.fm API call. This content contains links, many of which are handled by parsing info from the URL in: - (BOOL)webView:(UIWebView *)aWbView shouldStartLoadWithRequest:(NSURLRequest *)request navigationType:(UIWebViewNavigationType)navigationType; …and passing that info on to appropraite view controllers. When I cannot handle a URL I would like to push a new view controller on the stack and load the webpage into a UIWebView there. The TTWebController in Three20 looks very promising since it has also implemented a navigation toolbar, loading indicators etc. Somewhat naively perhaps I thought I would be able to use this controller to display web content in my app, without implementing Three20 throughout the app. I followed the instructions on github to add Three20 to my project and added the following code to deal with URLs in shouldStartLoadWithRequest: TTWebController* browser = [[TTWebController alloc]init]; [browser openURL:@"http://three20.info"]; //initially test with this URL [self.navigationController pushViewController:navigator animated:YES]; This crashes my app however with the following notice: *** -[TTNavigator setParentViewController:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3d5db70 What else do I need to do to implement the TTWebController in my app? Or do you know of an alternative view controller template that I can use instead of the Three20 implementation?

  • "Don't Allow" in LocationManager keeps logging errors

    - by stephanie.moreau
I have an app that checked for location. It asks the user to use location and if the user says no on the menu there is an issue when i load the mapview. Once i select the mapView it asks for the user location again. If the user says no again my console keeps displaying errors/warning as well as my NSLog from the "didFailWithError" of my location Manager class. Is there a way of stopping the LocationManage:didFailWithErrors if the user has already said no? I don't think Apple would accept my app if the Log file gets filled up my the LocationManager Here is an example of what gets repeated in the console ERROR,Time,290362745.002,Function,"void CLClientHandleDaemonDataRegistration(__CLClient*, const CLDaemonCommToClientRegistration*, const __CFDictionary*)",server did not accept client registration 1 WARNING,Time,290362745.005,Function,"void CLClientHandleDaemonInvalidation(__CFMessagePort*, void*)",client 1035.0 has been disconnected from daemon 2010-03-15 12:19:05.002 SAQ[1035:207] LocationManager Error Denied by user

  • MKMapView not calling delegate methods

    - by criscokid
In a UIViewController I add a MKMapView to the view controlled by the controller. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; CGRect rect = CGRectMake(0, 0, 460, 320); map = [[MKMapView alloc] initWithFrame:rect]; map.delegate = self; [self.view addSubview:map]; } Later in the controller I have - (void)mapViewDidFinishLoadingMap:(MKMapView *)mapView { NSLog(@"done."); } Done never gets printed. None of the other delegate methods get called either like mapView:viewForAnnotation: I use a MKMapView in an another app, but this seems to happen on any new application I make. Has anyone else seen this behavior? EDIT: The problem seems to be when UIViewController is made the delegate of the MKMapView, a direct subclass of NSObject seems to work okay. I can work around like this, still seems very odd since I've done it before.

  • throws SecurityException when signing with the default debug keystore

    - by Omer
I am receiving a SecurityException since yesterday when I launch the service using signature protection level for permission with the default debug keystore. The strange thing is I wasn't receiving this error before yesterday and I didn't make any security related change. On the other hand, my own keystore using for releases is still working good. Related AndroidManifest.xml part: <permission android:name="com.my.app.privateservices" android:protectionLevel="signature" /> <service android:name=".MyService" android:permission="com.my.app.privateservices" />

  • how and where should I set and load NSUserDefaults in a utility app?

    - by Greywolf210
I have followed directions in several books and suggestions on some forums but I have issues with my app crashing when I try and set user preferences. I have the following lines on my "done" method in my flipscreenViewController: - (IBAction)done { NSUserDefaults *userDefaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [userDefaults setBool:musicOnOff.on forKey:kMusicPreference]; [userDefaults setObject:trackSelection forKey:kTrackPreference]; [self.delegate flipsideViewControllerDidFinish:self];} and the following 2 methods in my mainViewController: -(void)initialDefaults{ NSUserDefaults *userDefaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [userDefaults setBool:YES forKey:kMusicPreference]; [userDefaults setObject:@"Infinity" forKey:kTrackPreference];} -(void) setvaluesFromPreferences { NSUserDefaults *userDefaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; BOOL musicSelection = [userDefaults boolForKey:kMusicPreference]; NSString *trackSelection = [userDefaults objectForKey:kTrackPreference]; if(musicSelection == YES) { if([trackSelection isEqualToString:@"Infinity"]) song = [[BGMusic alloc]initWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"Infinity" ofType:@"m4a"]]; else if([trackSelection isEqualToString:@"Energy"]) song = [[BGMusic alloc]initWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"Energy" ofType:@"m4a"]]; else if([trackSelection isEqualToString: @"Enforcer"]) song = [[BGMusic alloc]initWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"Enforcer" ofType:@"m4a"]]; else if([trackSelection isEqualToString: @"Continuum"]) song = [[BGMusic alloc]initWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"Continuum" ofType:@"m4a"]]; else if([trackSelection isEqualToString: @"Pursuit"]) song = [[BGMusic alloc]initWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"Pursuit" ofType:@"m4a"]]; [song setRepeat:YES]; counter = 0; } else [song close];} Anyone willing to help out? Thanks a bunch, Chuck

  • Prevent status bar from receiving touch events

    - by Typeoneerror
Edit After further testing, it appears that the part of my button that are not clickable are where the status bar used to be. I'm hiding the status bar with : // -- Override point for customization after app launch [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarHidden:YES]; But it's still receiving touches. Any idea on how to disable this? Is there's a bounding box on an application that receives touch events? I created a few sample round rect buttons and placed them in different places in my view. The ones in the center of the view receive touch events (and show the highlighted blue color) but if I place a button near the edges of the view, only parts of them are clickable in the simulator. Is this because of Apples style guidelines? I placed a button exactly where a UITabNavigationItem would appear and only the bottom half of it is clickable.
