• nested repeaters - how to sort

  Hi guys, I have a table: Category with some sort of categories category1 category2 category3 I have another table Subcategory which has a fk to Category. So, each category1 can have subcategoryB, subcategoryA, subcategoryZ. Well... i've made two repeaters. The first one is binded to a linq data source which takes the categories from the parent table. The children repeater is binded to that foreign key like: DataSource='<%# Eval("Subcategories_1s") %' So the result is: category1 subcategoryB subcategoryA subcategoryZ category2 etc. Well, the strange question is: how can i order the subcategories alphabetically? If i'd have binded the children repeater to a linq it would be easy. But in this case...?

  I am using tiny mce with a script I built for uploading some content to a blog like system. Whenever I add a link via tiny mce I get this error.   I am trying to read in a series of tab delimited text files into existing MySQL tables. • Is there a decent JSON editor around?

  I'm looking for a JSON editor that is able to do syntax checking and outline view. Browser-based editors are not an option as they are clumsy for editing lots of local files. Eclipse plug-in would be ideal, but I would be happy with anything that works. I found only two so far, those in Aptana Studio Pro and Spket IDE (both available as plug-ins for Eclipse). While they have decent outline views, their syntax checking doesn't catch most of the common errors (like missing commas or braces) which makes them almost useless.

• Best architecture for accessing secondary database

  I'm currently developing an app which will use a Linq to SQL (or possibly EF) data access layer. We already have a database which holds all our Contacts information, but there is currently no API around this. I need to interact with this DB from the new app to retrieve contact details. I can think of two ways I could do this - 1) Develop a suite of web services against the contacts database 2) Write a Linq to SQL (or EF) DAL and API against the contacts database I will probably be developing several further apps in the future which will also need access to the Contacts data. Which would generally be the prefered method? What are the points I need to consider? Am I even asking a sensible question, or am I missing something obvious?

• Strange JavaScript Regular Expression Behavior

  I'm getting different behavior from a regular expression in JavaScript depending on whether or not I declare it using literal syntax. Using a extremely simple test HTML file: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> var s = '3'; var regex1 = /\d/; var regex2 = new RegExp('\d'); alert(s.search(regex1)); // 0 (matches) alert(s.search(regex2)); // -1 (does not match) </script> </head> <body></body> </html> The regular expression declared with literal syntax (/\d/) works correctly, while the other (new RegExp('\d')) does not. Why on earth is this happening? I'm using Google Chrome 5.0.375.70 on Windows Vista Home Premium, if that's at all helpful.

  Hello! I have two tables, one for job deadlines, one for describe a job. Each job can take a status and some statuses means the jobs' deadlines must be deleted from the other table.   From what I understood I can use pattern-matching in a match ... with expression with tuples of values, so something like match b with ("<", val) -> if v < val then true else false | ("<=", val) -> if v <= val then true else false should be correct but it gives me a syntax error as if the parenthesis couldn't be used: File "ocaml.ml", line 41, characters 14-17: Error: Syntax error: ')' expected File "ocaml.ml", line 41, characters 8-9: Error: This '(' might be unmatched referring on first match clause.. Apart from that, can I avoid matching strings and applying comparisons using a sort of eval of the string? Or using directly the comparison operator as the first element of the tuple?

When I run the code to generate the XML in an empty page, it runs without error, if I call the code within my webpage it throws this error. For the other 5% i need to manipulate the value of id before passing to the facade. I'd like to create a separate method within this same controller that executes that manipulation and then calls this (Details) method. What would the signature of that method look like? From what I understand, these two "extensions" of JavaScript are just small scripts that enable extended functionality. But, what exactly are there? I mean, Adobe is a company that created Flash. If you want information about Flash, the official source is at Adobe. Is there an equivalent for AJAX and jQuery? • Simple XML parsing with Google Picasa API and JQuery

  I'm starting to look into Google's Picasa API for photo data, which provides you with a big XML file with info about albums and photos. What is that syntax even called (so I can scour google)? When was this standard phased out? Any info is appreciated.

  I have an abstract base class that holds a Dictionary. I'd like inherited classes to be able to access the dictionary fields using a convenient syntax. Currently I have lots of code like this: string temp; int val; if (this.Fields.TryGetValue("Key", out temp)) { if (int.TryParse(temp, out val)) { // do something with val... } } Obviously I can wrap this in utility functions but I'd like to have a cool, convenient syntax for accessing the dictionary fields where I can simply say something like: int result = @Key; Is there any way to do something like this in C# (3.5)?
