• "Find nearest location" by Zip/Postal Code?

  I need a "find nearest location" on our website. Where visitor enters their zip/postal code, then they are redirected to specific webpage for our nearest location. We have forty USA and Canada locations. How can I build something like this? Could I do this with the Google Maps API? I already have a custom map on Google Maps. It's plotted with our locations. It would be nice to send Google Maps a command to say "what's our nearest location at __ zip code". Any suggestions?

  I am trying to compare two tables to find rows in each table that is not in the other. Table 1 has a groupby column to create 2 sets of data within table one. groupby number ----------- ----------- 1 1 1 2 2 1 2 2 2 4 Table 2 has only one column. number ----------- 1 3 4 So Table 1 has the values 1,2,4 in group 2 and Table 2 has the values 1,3,4. • Using Active Objects and BLOBs

  I am in a group of people who are creating a Defect Tracking program as a project. We have been using Active Objects and have run into some issues. Currently maximum file size for the blob is approx. 2Mb but we want to be able to increase it up to 2Gb. We currently have been looking at many sites and have not been able to find out how to increase the size. We are currently storing the blob as an array of bytes. Our current error says, Packet for Query is too large? We don't know how to set the variable, and we don't know how to set it using AO. We are programming this in Java, too. We are wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem. Thanks for the Help.

• Pagination links broken - php/jquery

  Hey, I'm still trying to get my pagination links to load properly dynamically. But I can't seem to find a solution to this one problem. vote down star Hi everyone, I am still trying to figure out how to fix my pagination script to work properly. the problem I am having is when I click any of the pagination number links to go the next page, the new content does not load. literally nothing happens and when looking at the console in Firebug, nothing is sent or loaded. I have on the main page 3 links to filter the content and display it. When any of these links are clicked the results are loaded and displayed along with the associated pagination numbers for that specific content. I believe the problem is coming from the sql query in generate_pagination.php (seen below). When I hard code the sql category part it works, but is not dynamic at all. This is why I'm calling $ids=$_GET['ids']; and trying to put that into the category section but then the numbers don't display at all. • jQuery / jqGrids / Submitting form data troubles...

  Ive been messing with jqgrids alot of the last couple days, and I have nearly everything the way I want it from the display, tabs with different grids, etc. Im wanting to make use of Modal for adding and editing elements on my grid. My problem that Im running into is this. I have my editurl:"editsu.php" set, if that file is renamed, on edit, i get a 404 in the modal.. great! However, with that file in place, nothing at all seems to happen. I even put a die("testing"); line at the top, so it sees the file, it just doesnt do anything with it.   Basically I pull an Id from table1, use that id to find a site id in table2, then need to use the site ids in an array, implode, and query table3 for site names. I cannot implode the array correctly first I got an error, then used a while loop. • Configuration "diff" across Oracle WebCenter Sites instances

  Problem Statement With many Oracle WebCenter Sites environments - how do you know if the various configuration assets and settings are in sync across all of those environments? Background At Oracle we typically have a "W" shaped set of environments.  For the "Production" environments we typically have a disaster recovery clone as well and sometimes additional QA environments alongside the production management environment. In the case of www.java.com we have 10 different environments. All configuration assets/settings (CSElements, Templates, Start Menus etc..) start life on the Development Management environment and are then published downstream to other environments as part of the software development lifecycle. Ensuring that each of these 10 environments has the same set of Templates, CSElements, StartMenus, TreeTabs etc.. is impossible to do efficiently without automation. Solution Summary  The solution comprises of two components. A JSON data feed from each environment. A simple HTML page that consumes these JSON data feeds.  Data Feed: Create a JSON WebService on each environment. The WebService is no more than a SiteEntry + CSElement. The CSElement queries various DB tables to obtain details of the assets/settings returning this data in a JSON feed. Report: Create a simple HTML page that uses JQuery to fetch the JSON feed from each environment and display the results in a table. Since all assets (CSElements, Templates etc..) are published between environments they will have the same last modified date. If the last modified date of an asset is different in the JSON feed or is mising from an environment entirely then highlight that in the report table. Example Solution Details Step 1: Create a Site Entry + CSElement that outputs JSON Site Entry & CSElement Setup  The SiteEntry should be uncached so that the most recent configuration information is returned at all times. In the CSElement set the contenttype accordingly: Step 2: Write the CSElement Logic The basic logic, that we repeat for each asset or setting that we are interested in, is to query the DB using <ics:sql> and then loop over the resultset with <ics:listloop>. For the generation of the JSON data structure you could use Jettison (the library ships with the 11.1.1.8 version of the product), native Java 7 capabilities or (as the above example demonstrates) you could roll-your-own JSON output but that is not advised. • Successful SQL Injection despite PHP Magic Quotes

  I have always read that Magic Quotes do not stop SQL Injections at all but I am not able to understand why not! As an example, let's say we have the following query: SELECT * FROM tablename WHERE email='$x'; Now, if the user input makes $x=' OR 1=1 --, the query would be: SELECT * FROM tablename WHERE email='\' OR 1=1 --'; The backslash will be added by Magic Quotes with no damage done whatsoever! Is there a way that I am not seeing where the user can bypass the Magic Quote insertions here?

• Should you do validation checks that go outside the possiblility of normal user activity?

  Hey guys I have been thinking about form security a lot lately. I have been told time and time again to check if form input is a number if you are expecting a number or escape it in case (unless you use proper mysqli formatting) to avoid injection. 1.After the safety checks are done, should I do additional logic checks? For example, if the user is sending a friend request to them-self for example even if my user interface will not show the form if the user is looking at their own page.

• Compilation of latex file

  Hi, I am compiling a latex file on a server and download from there the generated dvi, ps and pdf files to view them. The latex file by \includegraphics includes some figure files which are not on my local machine. I found that dvi file generated by latex command does not show the figures after dowloaded to my local, but ps file generated by dvips -Ppdf have the figures, and pdf file generated by either ps2pdf or pdflatex seem not have the figures again. Is it because the figures are not actually embeded as part of the dvi and pdf files by those compilation commands? How to actually embed figures so we can only export the document files to other machines? are the case for tables in separated tex files included into main tex file by /input and the case for style files included by \usepackage similar to the above case for figure files included by \includegraphics ?
