    I know about and have used the macros DEBUGMSG, RETAILMSG, ERRORMSG, that all take a condition parameter. For general formatted debug output, though, I want to use ::NKDbgPrintfW directly and wonder if someone knows if it compiles to a nop in optimised release builds or if my own macro wrapper around it with #ifdef DEBUG is still needed?

  • Encoding problem (Hebrew UTF8) in WordPress

    Hi all, I have a blog (of a friend) I am failing to fix: http://www.nivcalderon.com/ The language of the website is Hebrew, but the encoding scrambles the output, and I can't find how to fix it. I tried changing the DB colliation to be utf8_general_ci. I added this: define('DB_COLLATE', 'utf8_general_ci'); To the wp-config (and also this: define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8'); But removed it later, since it didn't seem to fix the problem) Any ideas of what else to do ?     I am playing with the unix hexdump utility. My input file is UTF-8 encoded, containing a single character ñ, which is C3 B1 in hexadecimal UTF-8. hexdump test.txt 0000000 b1c3 0000002 Huh? This shows B1 C3 - the inverse of what I expected! Can someone explain? For getting the expected output I do: hexdump -C test.txt 00000000 c3 b1 |..| 00000002 I was thinking I understand encoding systems..

    I'm looking for a tool or a script that will take the console log from my web app, parse out the garbage collection information and display it in a meaningful way. I'm starting up on a Sun Java 1.4.2 JVM with the following flags: -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCDetails The log output looks like this: 54.736: [Full GC 54.737: [Tenured: 172798K->18092K(174784K), 2.3792658 secs] 257598K->18092K(259584K), [Perm : 20476K->20476K(20480K)], 2.4715398 secs] Making sense of a few hundred of these kinds of log entries would be much easier if I had a tool that would visually graph garbage collection trends.
